Before the Jordan River empties into the Dead Sea, there are two famous bridges across the Jordan River, namely the Abdullah Bridge and the Allenby Bridge, which are the border bridges between Israel and Jordan. Between the two bridges, 8 kilometers from the desert oasis of Jericho, it is said that Jesus was baptized here. The Jordan River is a quiet little river, nowhere near as wide as it was in Jesus' time. The baptism site (Yardenit) is surrounded by eucalyptus trees on both sides, and flowers and vines are formed on both sides. The narrow river channel, the shallow river water can be seen to the end at a glance. Calm river water barely feels flowing. Only when the small fish swim in the water, it brings a little ripple to the water surface. A wooden sign stands on the bank with the words "The place where Jesus Christ was baptized" in English and Hebrew. There are steps by the river for the believers to recite the Bible, and there are several metal handrails in the river. The place where Jesus was baptized is the holy place that his followers yearn for all their lives. It is the honor of a lifetime to be baptized at the place where Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River. It is said that when members of the British royal family are baptized, the royal family will send a special plane to come here, load some water from the Jordan River, and then fly back to distant Britain to baptize the royal family with water from the Jordan River. There are people from different countries, different nationalities, and different skin colors every day at the Baptism of Jesus. According to statistics, the number of people exceeds 500,000 every year.
