Cool place to visit, but not ancient

Get off the interstate and wander around The buildings are amazing. So much to see. The bridge crossing Diablo Canyon is sturdy. Lost piece of history.
Another piece of history decaying away to nothing.
Unfortunately due to vandals/tweakers there wasn't much left to see of this area. Lot of graffiti, used drug paraphernalia and just plain trash. Shame because I'm sure back in the day it was awesome. ...
My husband told me the story of the Apache Death Cave, and the 1920s tourist trap that was later built along Route 66. It was an interesting stop on Hwy 40.

Sort of hard to find, but interesing

UPDATE
Stairs are no longer usable to access cave. Very disappointing, as had made the trip specifically to explore the cave.
