Nanmen Square

The South Gate Square opposite the South Gate Building in Yinchuan City is the largest square in Yinchuan City. It is conveniently located and the best place to hold various celebrations. The surrounding environment is very good and worth visiting.

The south gate of Yinchuan Old Town is the only complete gate building preserved in the six ancient city buildings in Yinchuan Ancient City. The locals are used to calling it the South Gate Building. The south gate that I see now was rebuilt in 1917. Since the 1950s, it has been renovated many times, demolishing the city walls on both sides of the south gate building and opening up the south gate square; and building a observation deck on both sides of the gate building, and planting a lot of flowers and trees in the north and south. The South Gate Square in front of the South Gate was the venue for a major celebration rally in Yinchuan for a considerable period of time. But with the rapid development of Yinchuan City, there are already high-rise buildings near the south gate, and the effect of climbing the building has disappeared, and various gatherings and activities have also moved to the modern People's Square.

Especially when night falls, many vendors near the square start to set up stalls to sell, there are clothing, barbecue, toys, etc. dazzling, especially the special barbecue stalls filled with a strong meat roast pepper and salt in the air! At around 8 o'clock in the evening, under the night view of the South Gate Building, the lights are red and green, very prosperous, the youth talk about love, the children play around, the elderly are homely, bustling, super lively, but you must take care of your own finances when you travel at night.
