Mom & Pop is run by a mother and her son team who were very welcoming and helpful. We only stayed there two nights at the beginning of May. Abraham, the son, went out of his way to help us with the canoe backwater trip bookings, restaurant suggestions and was always on hand whenever needed. The facilities are very basic but clean. However, you don't get to eat or interact with the family nor enter the main house where the family stay, and hence, it felt more like a B&B rather than the "homestay" experience "with shared lounge and kitchen" that is advertised. Food is served in a separate room outside the main house. On our first day, we asked Mom to prepare us a dinner including the typical Keralan fish curry on banana leaves and it was so tasty and yet reasonably priced. The breakfasts are also good and all freshly prepared at the time of your choosing. All in all, for good value, good food and a clean "no frills budget" place to stay for a couple of nights, Mom & Pop Thyparambil Heritage fits the bill
