Oh My God!!! This is a beautiful hotel to stay. Rooms are like a river facing 1bhk except kitchen as they have their own restaurant. Food is amazing especially buffet and complimentary breakfast. Breathtakingly beautiful view from balcony of room of swift flowing river. It is just 5 minutes from Kangra Airport. Rooms are clean and spacious. They also have cottages. Cleanliness can be bit better but the positive factors mentioned above are way beyond that, so you can overlook small negatives. Towels were not new. So better get your own towels or ask for new ones. That's the only negative point. Must visit hotel if you are in Kangra and a nature lover.

Beautiful mountain view Riverside Courteous staff Excellent quality of room Delicious food We stayed in a cottage and it is very good for families thwy have activities for children too which makes it worthwhile

Our stay at the River Retreat hotel will always remain memorable. It's as if all elements of hospitality,viz.,location, food, comfort, courteous staff came together miraculously in one place. Watching the Majhi river flow from the comfort of hotel chairs was bliss.Particularly impressive was their instinctive, yet un-obtrusive maitre'd, Pravesh, presiding over the guests' dining experience. Mr Raj Kapoor, the promoter of the hotel as I understand, deserves kudos. Cheers, Anil Khanna

Money you pay doesn't justify what you will get. Dirty bedsheets, dirty bathing towels, one of towel was full of dirt, like room was cleaned using the same. Basic things like hand-towel was missing. TV operates with basic channels. Overall hygiene was way POOR. Food service was not great either, and i am talking about situation with very few guests, and still they couldn't hold strings together. I am really thinking how miserably it will be dealt with once peak season comes. Though airport is 1.4 km from hotel taxi is available for a rate of 600 INR. I paid 80% of what i paid for a ITC property in Mcleadganj which included better breakfast and buffet dinner as well, needless to mention about quality. I wouldn't have paid even half of what i paid, for what i got. MAIN CONCERN, - POOR HYGIENE

Tv channels were bot working
Theybhad aoffer uonthhe propertu for banquet functions on all noghts that we stayed ans there was vwey loud music ..ther was played thankfullybstopped at -

They sound proofing rooms Was very bad .. we could hear lod noose from outside , cars , dogs barking..
Foodbwas vwry basic , breakfast was very vwry bsic..
we left the hotel one noght earlierbthan planned
For a price thar was five star ... we hot nothing . Also rbe spame rooms were availablw at 50% of the proce that we paid for when we booked thru yiu!
