B&B Marconi

The green room had two rooms and a bathroom. The place was dirty. There were 3 beds in one room and a double bed next door. The beds were awful with uncomfortable mattresses and pillows. There were holes in the sheets and it felt, so unclean. There was no-where to sit other than at the kitchen table. The kitchen did not have any large glasses, was poorly equiped and the fridge/freezer was dirty. The AC did not really work so we were always too hot. The bathroom was really grotty though the lighting was so poor that we were luckily unable to see everything. The shower curtain had black mold on the bottom 2 feet and the lower part of the shower tiling grouting was black marked - it was disgusting. The shower itself was partially blocked and didn’t drain away properly meaning you were paddling in waste water. Because we were out and about a lot, I messaged reception not once but twice but there was no contact from them. We stayed in other AirB&B’s and appartments in Italy and they were clean and comfortable. Avoid Marcomi rooms.

Be carefull! I have just been the victim of fraud with this accommodation. The apartment offered once we arrived in Verona, is not the pretty old apartment in a palace in the historic city center I had booked on ***********. The owner sent us with no warnings to another district far from the city center in an ugly and poorly maintained modern building, on the edge of the ring road. In addition it was an apartment shared with 2 other groups instead of the private apartment that was advertised on ***********. He made us pay for a room without a private bathroom at the price of the full apartment. The owner refuses to answer and reimburse us and we have to take legal steps.

The accommodation is perfectly located near Castelvecchio, a few minutes walk from the Arena. The atmosphere of the house and the rooms is perfectly reflecting the mood of the old town. The room is small but can accommodate two people. Check in is a bit cumbersome. Our bathroom window had no shutters, so we had to shower with the lights off.
