Light powder snow
It is no exaggeration to say that it is comparable to Hokkaido, and you can enjoy a very light powder snow. You sometimes have to be careful and slip 65 cm at once overnight.
Ski season
I often visit during the ski season. The Karao Kogen ski resort and the Tangrum ski circus behind it. The number of buses was also convenient. It is wonderful because it is a mountain where you can see the whole picture very beautifully when you look at Mt. Karao from the foot of the mountain.
Winter is amazing!
The altitude is lower than that of Shiga Kogen, so the impact is a little weak, but it is originally in a heavy snowfall area and has a lot of snow, and the composition of the slope, the shape of the mountain, and the bowl are well used. The surrounding pension has an image of a mountain lodge, so it's very good to have an image of a resort with a little adult atmosphere. Departure point of Shin-Etsu Trail
Mt. Mt. Marao is popular as a easy climbing course in the Iiyama area. Unfortunately, there is no view of the mountaintop, but if you walk on the ridge for 10 minutes to the west, you will find a peak called "Daimyojindake", which overlooks Lake Nojiri, the Northern Alps, Myoko, and Mt. Hiuchi. If you want to avoid straight climbing on the slopes, you can enjoy the natural mountain trail by climbing from the Arasehara side on the west side.
