It's made of wood.
Original Text
It is one of the famous buildings by Voris. Originally, it is the Sakai Post Office. It looks like a reinforcement, but it is actually a wooden 2 floor pseudo-Western style building. It is now a museum. Admission is 200 yen, 9 from 5. Closed every Monday. It was a wonderful building with a unique appearance in the same line as the houses of the former Sakai-juku, where the old buildings continue.
There are two Sakai-juku Museums, one using the former Sakai-juku Post Office building near JR Sakai-gai Station and the other is the former wholesale shop in Sakai-juku, each of which can learn about the history of Sakai-juku.
At the former Sakai Post Office, about 7 minutes walk from JR Sakai Station, the first floor is open for free, with tourist information maps and models of thatched-roofed houses. It is a two-story wooden ivory-colored building designed by Vories.
The post office from the Taisho era is now used as the Sakaijuku Museum. The architecture is famous for Voris, and the ones built by him are scattered throughout Shiga Prefecture. It is on the way to sightseeing in Sakaijuku, so I think it is okay to step in.

It is just a short walk from the station. It is said that it is a building that Vories was involved in design. You can enjoy it just by looking at it
