Odawara Jo castle attack
Original Text
I visited during the Sakamo River Fireworks Festival. I had time to go to the fireworks festival, so when I was taking a walk around the area, I happened to see it and stopped by. It is said that this is the place where Ieyasu Tokugawa fought during the Toyotomi attack on Odawara Castle in 1590. I was surprised to find a historic site in such a place.
it is the site of ieyasu tokugawa's position that still remains.

Do you know "Monument of the site of the Tokugawa Ieyasu position"? It is a stone monument designated as an important cultural property of Odawara City. A part of the Kuruwa earthworks, which is still the site of the position, remains in the residential area of Jumachi on the west bank of the Sakamo River on the east side of Odawara Castle. At the time of the Odawara Battle, Ieyasu Tokugawa used it as a camp, there is a stone monument, a guide board, and a simple Toshogu shrine.
It would have been meaningless if it wasn't in the place where it seemed to have been relocated when the old place was constructed. I don't know why Odawara City is also a tourist attraction.
It is located in the back of the alley along the street, and there is only a very small signboard, so it is an unknown and quiet place. If it hadn't been introduced in Bra Tamori, I wouldn't have known this was a place that was so important in history. Even so, the Ieyasu army at that time was sandwiched between the river and the sea, and if it was attacked, it was in a great place with a limited escape.
It is about 10 minutes drive from Odawara Castle Ruins Park, and there is Odawara Ohashi Bridge over the Sakai River nearby. It may be a little confusing because it is located in an alley with a lot of distance from Prefectural Road 720. Ieyasu was in a lot of places compared to Hideyoshi.
