Great place to watch the stars!

Although it took a long time from my place to this Observatory ( I was from Beppu, so i had to take the train to Tozaki then bus to Saganoseki and taxi to this observatory), it was really worth the tr...

    Saganoseki Observatory

Very friendly Astronomers there, you are bound to meet one that speaks good english; they don't mind to take the time to explain things to you. A nicely isolated area away from city lights on the othe...

    Renewal

    Original Text

First visit after renewal. I couldn't enjoy the scenery because of the purpose of watching the planetarium at night, but the planetarium was spectacular. The voice of the woman who explained the starry sky tonight was very comfortable, and the hall was dark, so I almost fell asleep, but I was able to watch it safely until the end. The scale of the facilities such as the planetarium and the exhibition room is small, but it is spectacular, and it seems that the daily cleaning is perfect immediately after the renewal, and it is very beautiful ...

It's a very narrow and difficult road to get there.

    Original Text

It seemed to be close to the roadside station Sagaseki, so I rented a car. The outbound route is a narrow and winding road that passes through the mountains, and depending on the location, it seems that it will be difficult to pass each other when oncoming cars come. On the return route, I chose a road along the sea that looks good, but this was a big failure, and when the oncoming car came out, I went out and backed 2 degrees. Certainly the scenery is good in the daytime along the sea, but it is dangerous because there are places where there is no guardrail (absolutely avoid night passage ...

    Charm あふれる Astronomical Measurement

    Original Text

This is a place I casually went from Sagaseki Port, but I definitely wanted to visit again. The coastline of Prefectural Road 635 has a beautiful scenery with a narrow road width where cars can finally pass through with a quay overhanging part of the coastline. On the way back, I came back in another safe mountain. (Sagaseki Circulation Line) The destination Kaiseikan is a facility that is more than I expected and the admission fee is free, but astronomical observation is charged. There is a lighthouse below, many fishing boats in the sea, and Cape Sada, Ehime Prefecture in the distance. Photos of the Asagi Madala (traveling butterfly) are also exhibited ...
