Very beautiful small palace. The building is beautifully decorated and the gardens are elegant and chic. The Palace of the Marquis of Flontera was built in 1671, when it was the first palace inhabited by the Marquis of Flontera when he hunted. The Marquis was awarded the king for his achievements in the war. Today it remains the residence of the Marquis of Flontella.

Palace of the Marquises, it seems that I don’t open the door for people to visit, just look at it from the lawn outside, it looks like an old house of rich people.
"This beautiful garden is distinguished by its great stairways, water tanks, coloured glazed tiles and decorative parterres. From the plan, one might think it a renaissance garden inspired by du Cerceau and dating from the 1550s and. In fact, as the exuberant detailing reveals, the garden was made in the 1660s. The water tanks have panels decorated with azulejos, plaques and busts, adding brilliant hues to the garden: terracotta, indigo, cerulean, turquoise, lemon-yellow. The Chapel Walk is an outdoor gallery with tiled panels showing allegories of the arts and sciences. Fronteira is perhaps the finest examples of a uniquely Portuguese approach to garden design: comfortable, grand, lush, intimate and brilliantly coloured" Garden Visit
