The Red House

Ximen Red House is named after its eight-sided building, also known as "Bajiaotang". It is located on Chengdu Road in Wanhua District, Taipei, next to Ximending Pedestrian Street. At the beginning of its establishment, it was used as a market. With the advancement of time, it has been transformed into a theater and a cinema, and now it has been transformed into a gathering place for culture and art, becoming a famous cultural settlement in Taipei. On the second floor of the Red House, there will be regular performances of cross talk, opera, stage play, dance, concerts and other artistic and cultural activities, also known as the "Red House Theater". You can also visit the theme exhibition on the first floor, where the history of the Red House is recorded. The cultural shop in the building sells some special and exquisite souvenirs, which can be considered as souvenirs for friends! Next to the Ximen Red House is the lively Ximending. There are many delicious and fun places here. If you have enough time, you can also go to the nearby Taipei Main Station or the History Museum.
