A normal park in a residential area
Original Text
I thought this was a memorial park because there are several Christian monuments and monuments near the Xavier Memorial Cathedral. However, this park was an ordinary small park surrounded by residential areas, near the Ground Self-Defense Force garrison in the northeastern part of the city center of Yamaguchi. There was a swing for children. However, there is a large stone monument with Xavier's relief. There is an explanation board, "This monument is a letter ... in which Yoshinaga Ouchi gave Torres permission to build a temple.
The place where Yoshitaka Ouchi gave Japan's first Christian church to Francis Xavier

A park on the site of Daidoji Temple, which is said to be Japan's first Christian church in Yamaguchi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The Ground Self-Defense Force Yamaguchi station is nearby. There was only a monument and a statue of Father Villaon, and there weren't many visitors, and it was a very quiet park in a residential area. Father Villion is said to have been working hard to identify the site of Daidoji Temple, which had been unknown during the period of Christian prohibition for a long time at the end of the Edo period.
I stopped by when sightseeing in Yamaguchi. A magnificent monument stands out.

I stopped by when sightseeing in Yamaguchi. A magnificent monument stands out. I was interested in the missionary work of Christianity not only in Kyushu but also in Yamaguchi, a corner of Honshu.
The abandoned temple where Xavier's residence was located in the park

Speaking of Yamaguchi City, the Xavier Memorial Cathedral is famous, but there is Xavier Memorial Park and a monument north of the city center. When Savier lived in an abandoned temple provided by Mr. Ouchi and carried out missionary work, French Father Amatrius Billyon and others in the Meiji era were the site of Japan's first Christian church. It seems that he bought and maintained this place.

How long ago?
I hear that sightseeing buses stopped by during the sightseeing boom in the Showa era, but there is really nothing but monuments.
