Liuheng Island

Liuheng Island is rich in tourism resources, with strange reefs and rocks all over the island, lush ancient trees towering into the sky; Liuheng Island is mainly based on leisure trips to the island paradise. The biggest feature is to experience the life of fishermen and taste the seafood caught by yourself. Important attractions are Xuanshan Island, Dragon Head Jump and so on. Liuheng Island covers an area of 93 square kilometers and is the third largest island in the Zhoushan Islands after Zhoushan Island and Daishan Island. Agriculture is relatively developed on the island. Due to the moderate temperature and humidity throughout the year and abundant rainfall, it is suitable for planting crops such as cassava, sweet potato, corn, etc., especially the high yield of sweet potato, which is famous in Zhoushan. Before the Yuan Dynasty, Liuheng Island was called Huanggong Mountain, and it was renamed Liuheng Island from the Ming Dynasty. Because the whole island has six ridge and horizontal islands running from southeast to northwest, which are shaped like snakes, the local people call them "horizontal", hence the name "six horizontal".
