5-Star Hotels in East Java, Indonesia

Room is spacious and clean. Breakfast variety is good. Getting to the room is confusing at the start (lift at hidden area, need to go up, walk across the bridge and take another lift to go up again), LG and level 3 is the same. 2 restaurants on site where the food is quite good. Not walkable to anywhere, quite convenient using grab each time though.

This hotel could easily be a five-star, but the price is incredibly reasonable and the service is excellent. Even though it hasn't been open long, it feels like a renovated hotel, as some of the equipment is a bit old, especially the air conditioning which is very noisy. The hairdryer is also incredibly difficult to use. Breakfast was good and quite comprehensive. There's a Sentosa seafood restaurant nearby that's really good.

Hotel is connected to a mall. Great location. Room is clean. Breakfast at Magnolia has an extensive spread. Quality of food is good, nice presentation and service by staff is excellent. Ambience at Club lounge is nice. What stands out most in this 5* hotel is the world class service rendered by all staff consistently. There is no staff that isn’t polite or helpful. Many go the extra mile to ensure that the hotel guests needs are well taken care of. Special thanks to Evan of the Club Lounge who attended to us when we checked in and Tian when we checked out, Bayu and colleagues (Conceige) who assisted us with ordering of Spikoe lapis cake and Bu Rudy, Lita and David (Magnolia) who served us at our table and Bastian and team for keeping the room clean. We highly recommend this hotel.

The cleanliness of the duvet in the room needs improvement; there were several blood stains on it. I brought my own four-piece bedding set, originally thinking I wouldn't use it since I was only staying one night. However, my child found multiple dirty spots on the duvet, so I ended up using my own bedding set.

Overall, it was a pleasant and enjoyable stay at the hotel. However, there are a few areas that could be improved: During peak season like Lebaran, only one elevator was operational at the time of our check-in. Although a second elevator was later in use, one remained out of service. This resulted in quite long waiting times, especially considering the high occupancy period. We also paid for breakfast at the reception, but our name was not initially listed at the restaurant. While the issue was resolved quickly, it did affect the overall comfort and experience. Additionally, the breakfast menu remained the same for two consecutive days. It might be worth reviewing the menus. We came around 9 AM (we know it’s quite late) and many items were already unavailable and not refilled. However, overall the room was clean and comfortable. We would definitely consider coming back, though likely without opting for the breakfast.

Room was comfy, clean, and smelled nice when I walked in. Big smart TV, Amenities were all there, nothing missing. There’s a bathtub which you can use to relax while watching tv, and the view from the room was spectacular. Bed was big and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful, everything went smoothly. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Change at Midnight, Poor Sleep I had to switch rooms at midnight because the air conditioning couldn't cool below 20°C. The technician couldn’t fix it and advised me to call the duty manager. I had an early flight and needed rest, but the room change took time, and I was disturbed again by a late-night call offering a towel. I finally slept around 12:30 AM and had to wake up at 5:15 AM. On the bright side, the porter kindly gave me a breakfast bag before my early checkout. Still, I’m reconsidering staying here again—might opt for a 4-star hotel with better comfort next time.

Location is second to none, near to Tunjungan Plaza. Service is amazing, I loved the short hair lady with glasses at the recep. She is so warm and friendly. Indigo's staff is also lovely and attentive. Room is really nice. Big bathroom, hot showers. Good quality toilet paper (always a sign if the management cares). You can relax and trust everything works. Pool is big and the water is warm. But the immediate sides of the pool is a bit dirty. The chef here is superb. Their soto soups are out of this world. And almost everything on the breakfast buffet is so good. Except the coffee. That's pretty weak and not showing off true Indonesian coffee. The cocktails here are so good too, great taste and strong as well. Although I didn't like the one with creme de menthe. Heritage tour at 2pm and 4pm. Try to go. It's cool. .

Staff were incredibly friendly. The gardens were a beautiful oasis. Breakfast was good with plenty of options even for vegetarian food. Room was a little shabby but clean and comfortable.

The location is great, near shopping malls and restaurants. Room size is enough for couples. The only con is the swimming pool’s water looks green.
