Davao City is located on Mindanao Island in the south of the Philippines, near Mount Apo which is the country’s highest peak. The city is home to Durian Dome, which is named after the famous South East Asian fruit that grows in abundance in Mindanao. Getting There

Davao is served by Francisco Bangoy International Airport, also commonly called Davao International airport which is just 10 km away from the city centre and can easily be reached by taxi or jeepney. There are 146 Manila-Davao flights per week with Cebu Pacific, Air Asia and Philippine Airlines providing direct flights to Davao. 

Tip: Be sure to take a metred taxi because the taxi drivers usually charge 2-3 times more. 

Top Things to Do

Crocodile Park is one of the top attractions in Davao, which is home to thousands of freshwater and saltwater crocodiles. You will also get to see other reptiles, monkeys and birds. The park offers awareness of wildlife conservation efforts and provides educational tours and lectures. 

Mindanao’s rainforests are home to a number of birds, reptiles, mammals and the great Philippine Eagle which is the national bird of the country.

Climb Mount Apo, one of South East Asia’s highest mountains, situated right in Davao. At the top, there is a 500-metre-wide crater lake created by volcanic activity and a 150-metre-tall Tudaya Falls waterfall.

After a day full of sightseeing, stop by the Roxas Avenue Night Market for some freshly cooked Filipino food.
