4-Star Hotels in Rangpur, Bangladesh

This is a very nice hotel, with good food, service and rooms. The staff were nice. The garden is beautiful. There was just one problem for me, which may not bother many guests. Neverthless: they have an aviary with some exotic foreign birds, including a cockatoo from Australia. Cockatoos are extremely social animals, and this one was locked up on its own. It looked absolutely miserable. Coming from Australia (and as a birder) this is very upsetting. At the very least it should be in with the other birds in the aviary. There is a lot of dodgy wildlife trade in birds in Bangladesh, so this wasn't totally surprising. Still, keeping this bird on its own is needlessly cruel.

It’s not very good, but it’s a good effort. This area is seriously short of water, so the color of the sheets is darker...
