Highlights:
This is a private museum entirely funded by the founder Zubeir family and displays the Omani artifacts collected by the Zubeir family. Bait Al Zubair consists of three buildings and a traditional garden, the main building was built in 1914 and was once the residence of the Zubair family. Today it has been rebuilt to suit its function as a museum, but Omani architectural elements can still be seen. Exhibits include portraits of successive sultans of the AlBusaidi dynasty, Khanjar, Omani traditional clothing for men and women, swords, rare jewellery and Omani household items. The garden on the first floor is unique. In addition to the model of the Omani village, it also restores the ancient water distribution facilities, market area, stone houses, etc. Another building, BaitDalaleel, has been lovingly renovated and embodies the true essence of Omani architecture. Here you will experience first-hand the life of Omanis more than 100 years ago. The third building, BaitAlOud, is part of the museum's 10th anniversary event, and exhibits on the ground floor include typical Muscati furniture. On the second floor there are some prints and a lot of photos about Muscat.
