Avallon Homestays

We stayed here for 5 nights on our honeymoon exploring the area around Avallon. The lady who runs the hotel was very friendly and helpful. This is a typical French provincial hotel done very well - our stay was comfortable and the accommodation was excellent value. The continental breakfast in particular was really great! If there is any downside it would be that some of the decor is a little dated (but everything is perfectly clean and tidy!) and the WiFi reception on the top floor was not very strong, but for us these were really minor points that didn't affect our stay. During our stay the weather was very hot, and thankfully the air conditioning in the room worked well. We wanted a cosy, comfortable, typical French hotel for our mini break, and we were not disappointed! Next time I am in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to book here again.

Wir hatten ein recht großzügiges Comfort-Zimmer, das inklusive Frühstück EUR 105 gekostet hat. Das Hotel war am Stadtrand gut zu finden, zu Fuß sind es ins Stadtzemtrum 15-20 Minuten. Der hoteleigene Parkplatz war auch ein angenehmes Extra, ohne Berechnung. Das Bett war recht groß, allerdings waren die Kopfkissen etwas zu fest, ansonsten war es nachts ruhig. Die große begehbare Dusche erwies sich am Morgen als sehr gut (Zimmer 31), und das Frühstück bot eine gute Auswahl, insbesondere sehr leckeres knuspriges Baguette, Eier und Wurst und Käse, aber auch Süßes und frische Croissants. Bei schönerem Wetter ist das Schwimmbad im Garten durchaus attraktiv. Insgesamt ein einfaches, aber angenehmes Hotel in einer attraktiven kleinen Stadt, ideal für einen Stopover, auch wenn man Chablis und die umliegenden kleinen Weinbaugebiete besuchen will.
