Excellent location adjacent (10 min walk) to bus stops that can get you to the HSR train station, and to the bus station where you can catch a bus to the big waterfall- Huangguoshu Waterfall. Hostel owner was willing to drive me to the big bridge for the bungee jump; for a fee (it's about a 2-hour drive- Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge. Place is otherwise in good walking-distance to the Confucius place, and the Lake, and the main market streets. Living room area is amazing with 20-foot floor to ceiling windows, spiral staircase, and street view. Hardwood floors. Responsive manager.

DaleshenkeqingTwin room. The room size was perfect, and the row of sofas by the window was incredibly comfortable. The window overlooked the moat next door.
The common areas were also excellent. There were long tables perfect for working on a laptop, and everyone was very quiet. The common area had a lot of cute dolls, creating a really nice atmosphere.
The latte and sour plum juice at the hotel were also quite good!

This is the 12th hostel I've stayed at in China, and I spent 6 days here during my Guizhou trip. It's a place with very clear pros and cons.
Pros:
1. Convenient location: It's within walking distance of Qingyun Market, the Ethnic Minorities Museum is just across the street, there's a Walmart right by the subway entrance for supplies, and a really good massage place in the Broadcast and Television Compound.
2. Fair price: The rates didn't even increase during a concert period.
3. Responsive host: The host was always accommodating and quick to respond.
Cons:
1. Small space: Both the 4-bed dorm room and the bathroom/shower area were very cramped. No wet/dry separation. Due to the small space, there are no lockers inside the room; they are in the main hall.
2. General hygiene: It was just okay. For example, under the mattresses, there were countless 'treasures' left by previous guests, and there were always hairs in the sink.
3. Public areas: No curfew and no smoking ban.
Suggestions for the owner:
1. When guests check in, the host could briefly introduce the common area facilities, such as the laundry room and where the lockers are.
2. The hot/cold labels on the shower faucet in the women's bathroom are completely reversed. Please fix them or put up a clear sign on the wall. Also, regularly inspect and maintain all facilities.
3. Some mattresses are too thin, like lying on a board, while others are too thick, making it hard to sit up straight without hitting your head when getting in and out of bed. The mattresses vary between beds. I suggest replacing them all with a moderate thickness.
4. There are gaps around the edges of the mattresses where things can easily fall. Please check around the mattresses for any lost 'treasures' after guests check out.
5. Implement rules for public areas, such as no loud music or shouting after a certain hour.

theunaprincessaAmazing hostel! Super clean, kind staff, a lot of space in the common areas! You can also watch a film on a projector (I couldn't figure it out as I don't speak Chinese), read something, or have a drink at the bar. It was surprisingly quiet. There's a locker room where you can leave your luggage. In the bathroom they also provide scrunchies and cleansing wipes, and in the room you've got a disposable towel for each day plus a toothbrush+toothpaste set. They've got decently priced local snacks and souvenirs (eg. magnets and pins), which is great! Location-wise, it's very close to the station (around 10 yuen taxi to Guiyangbei railway station), downstairs there's a mini market, and if you walk around the block, you'll see a lot of food places (open even late at night). There are no signs showing where the hotel is so when the taxi drops you off, find a lift (outside the building) and go to the 3rd floor. I do recommend it a lot! :)

Huajiaojiang101We stayed at the boss's house for three days on the recommendation of a friend. The boss and his family were very nice and they had a lot of luggage, so we had to carry it all for us. The boss's house is high up in the stockade, with a 360-degree view of the whole stockade. The scenery is better and quieter than living below. In the past three days, I have tasted the boss's menu all over. I am a picky Sichuanese and I think the craftsmanship is so good. I have three meals a day at the boss's place. Even when I go down the mountain to play, my family will not eat anything from outside. Come back and eat the boss's food. Every morning I wake up to the crowing of the rooster, go for a walk in the fields, and eat a bowl of the boss’s tomato scrambled egg noodles. Both husband and wife are hard-working people. We are grateful for meeting each other and wish the business a prosperous future!

Guest UserCharming accommodation decorated in Turkish style with exceptional service! Convenient location adjacent to the Ancient City but tucked away on a quit street allowing for peaceful rest at night. Charming room in historical building but with modern amenities. The owner speaks English well and gets out of his way to help his guest. Anander, the owner, walked to taxi with me and got taxi for me since it was a busy time during National Holiday. He is very attentive providing cold water during the hot days. The owner helped contacting my next hotel and gave advice for easy transportation with following up late to make sure I got safely to the next hotel. Best service I ever had traveling in China!

Anonymous UserService: The proprietress was really nice; she even offered us some of her homemade bayberry drink. When it rained, she kindly helped us move our clothes under the shelter.
Environment: The guesthouse is situated on the commercial street directly opposite the Xiaoqikong Scenic Area. It's just a few minutes' walk to the park entrance, making the location excellent. There are also a few parking spots available right outside, which is convenient for those driving.
Facilities: On the first floor, there's a small courtyard for drying clothes. The TV isn't a smart TV, and the shower runs on an electric water heater. The bathroom lacks a wet/dry separation and is very cramped. The shower head is uncomfortably close to both the toilet and the sink, and the storage shelf was broken. Overall, the bathroom is extremely basic. The sink's water pressure was far too strong; when I turned it on, water sprayed everywhere! A bathroom like this, reminiscent of a hostel's, really doesn't justify a price tag of over 300 RMB. The air conditioner blows directly onto the bed, which gave me a headache at night. I'd recommend the owner install an air deflector.
Hygiene: Hygiene was just average. I'd suggest cleaning the bathroom door and especially the water cups – even if unused, the overall impression was quite unappetizing.
Finally: Finally, the room we stayed in looked nothing like the photos displayed on Ctrip. Perhaps the room shown in the pictures was given to other guests. The advertised room had enough space between the TV and bed to comfortably fit a small table with two chairs. Our room, however, was incredibly small; simply placing a suitcase between the bed and TV made it feel extremely cramped! It certainly didn't match the square footage mentioned in the description. I highly recommend separating these room types for sale from the promotional photos, as this is very misleading! The price wasn't cheap, yet the room quality was so poor...

Guest UserAbsolutely loved my stay here! The bed was huge and the mattress super soft. Most importantly, the hygiene was impeccable. There's a common area where the owner helps organize activities. You know that feeling when you get off the high-speed train and head straight to your hostel? That's exactly what happened, and this place immediately set a wonderful tone for my trip. There's a 'starry sky' roof at the top offering panoramic city views. It's really close to the fountain, and Min Sheng Road is just a short walk away. The location is excellent – I honestly can't find a single fault.
But the best part, by far, is the owner. They are incredibly, incredibly nice! I feel so lucky to have booked such a great hostel. Thank you to the owner for your hospitality. Hope to see you again sometime, and I wish you all the best with your business – may it continue to thrive!
