Hostels in Hunan, China

The service was great, very patient. I'll definitely come back next time. Changsha is so much fun for backpackers; we played Werewolf until 4 or 5 AM! Changsha's nightlife is really vibrant, and there's so much good food too.

This is another hidden gem of a hostel! It's right by the river, perfect for walks and enjoying the breeze on your way to the old town, which has plenty of pubs but isn't too noisy. The owner is super nice, always organizing tea parties and chatting with guests from all over the world. The rooms are great too, with really comfortable mattresses, and it's spotlessly clean. The owner is truly, truly amazing – so patient with organizing activities, recommending food, and helping plan fun itineraries. If you're coming to the old town, this is absolutely the best place to stay – a must-visit in Fenghuang!

Staffs wonderful ! The women at the reception help me to booked the ticket for the Zhangjiajie National forest park. They also have map where they explain to you the best route to take day per day depending of how many time you are visiting the park and the program was very great. The hostel have a pool and they are doing a lot of karaoke on the evening. This place is very international with a lot of people from every where. Location very good at 10 min walk from the east entrance of the park.

An unexpected hostel gem! The location is superb, just a 5-minute walk to the subway station, surrounded by amazing food streets and attractions. After a long day of exploring, you can still enjoy a late-night snack. The beds are clean and comfy, equipped with privacy curtains, charging ports, and nightlights. The lockers with locks offer complete peace of mind. The common areas are spotless, with a fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. Thoughtful details like Dyson hairdryers are a huge plus. The front desk staff are incredibly friendly, treating you like old friends. This place is truly the king of value for money, offering location, social interaction, and convenience all for under a hundred yuan. A real treasure trove for backpackers. The guests here are also really nice, especially the guy in the picture who keeps buying cigarettes and betel nuts for everyone. If you run out, you can just ask him for some.

I was the only one there in the low season and I was made to feel so welcomed. The owner really might be the sweetest woman in town. She was patient with using the translator and all of my random questions trying to get some things ready for the road. I showed up on bicycle and she let me keep it inside. I definitely recommend to anyone passing through. It's simple, the water is hot, the room clean and there is air conditioning. Thank you!

The hostel was pretty quiet, located down a small alley amidst older residential buildings. The front desk staff were decent. However, I absolutely detest the hostel owner. He was often around and incredibly rude to me. One time, I was going in and out of the hostel (I'd done it about ten or fifteen times already) and left the door open a couple of times, even though the AC was on. He was sitting nearby and snapped at me, 'Close the door!' His tone was really off-putting. At the time, I had no idea he was the owner. The next day, he had an issue with my travel companion, then pointed at me and called me ill-mannered, saying he had 'put up with me for a long time.' I asked him why he didn't just tell me to close the door the first few times if it was such a big deal. He retorted, 'You have no manners, do I really need to remind you about something like that?' Then he complained about my belongings being all over the place, but many long-term guests in the hostel weren't exactly tidy either. He seemed to specifically target us students for criticism. Looking back, it still makes me furious.

The hygiene is average. The kitchen and toilet are a bit dirty. There is one toilet for each person, which is a bit difficult to use. You have to go downstairs. The dog is very nice and welcoming.

The desk-lady was really kind and provided a lot of helpful information via wechat upon arrival. Only downsides is the shower is in the same box as the standing poopers, which was a bit nasty not gonna lie. But common enough in China, so I'd still recommend it as a good cheap option--especially upon arrival from airport or sth like that

It has everything you need and the boss is nice. I will come again next time.

The youth travel found temporarily during the concert is a bit small in literary style. The boss on the big balcony has planted a lot of flowers and plants. I like the most that there is a puppy in the store called egg yolk, I like to touch super obedient! Super cute!
