"It was a Saturday morning when our area were scheduled for a rotational brownout. We missed the social media announcement. But, to save the day to be worthwhile, we booked in this hostel. The Front Desk was so accommodating and even gave us complimentary early check in to ease ourselves from stress. The guards at the Front was so nice, too. The location is just at the Corner Entry to Cebu Business Park coming from Hipodromo. It is very convenient and accessible. The room was decent. The AC works well. The TV was WiFi-ready. The bed was comfortable. However, the shower was broken. The water spill on the valve between the main faucet and the overhead shower. The elevation of the guest room floor and the shower floor was too thin that makes the water from the shower to spill going to the room. The window was dirty with watermarks and dust-turned-cement residues. The towel hook was also out-of-place as a hanged towel will get when you turn on the shower. I think the planning was not carefully thought of. I do not know. The plus were the refrigerator and the microwave oven. It was a good try but might not come back."

AAina M. L. LoronaI had a hot, uncomfortable disappointed, and we were in utter shocked that the room I booked was not in their system. As I was rebooking, it was not the same as the first booking then blacked out occured. During the blacked out the my booking end up with only a bed in dorm style quarters, public bathroom and no privacy. My first booking was a package trip from Cebu to Manila which still in a wrong date. The actual date for the flight was to be on August 19 @ 9:50 but the three agent that I spoke to on the 18th got my hotel canceled and only provided me a rebooked solution. Sure, I can rebooked, thank so much for making my simple trip into **************** with my family, along withy impatient high functioning autism, 24 years old son who doesn't like his iPad to be low battery and no wifi. To remind you that the black out still happening, so during my aunty and son lunch the black still going. I have no idea what kind of menu and price for food and drinks. As I saw the server put the first plate of food, I was shocked to see the mountain square shape nacho cheese beyond understanding. My aunty is only 90 to 100 pounds. She doesn't speak English and doesn't understand what she ordered, so she asked question about salad and a slice of pizza. But that not what the server brought, he came out again carrying nacho cheese, same size as the first nacho cheese/beef, except the second is chicken then a whole large Canadian bacon pizza. I couldn't believe the amount of food that was ordered then a Red Bull for my autistic son? My aunty was repeatedly saying that she only want salad and a slice pizza then water. What she really wanted the cook and server wanted to do is take away all the food back including the Red Bull. Oh, one more set of food, two big pieces of Burrito. The hotel is still in black out and stuffy hot and dark. The staff are not good listener. My son started eating and drinking the Red Bull, when I saw him, I told the staff that Red Bull straight might kill him of a heart attack. I also mentioned that my son doesn't know self control when it comes to food which is called glutenny . He already pass his regular weight. I heard my aunty said that my son ordered all the food; she had no idea what he was ordering. Meanwhile the black out still continuing till around 5:30 pm, every building around the area has their electricity back on but not the Papabo. Our booking still in process. The manager charged me for the lunch even though the mistake was the their service, taking order from an autistic person instead of asking his parents. The manager decided to booked us in the one room that has two bunk bed, private bathroom and has windows cause still black out. The room is stuffy and hot, it's on the fourth floor, no elevator and dark to go up the stairs. We decided to lock up our things in the room cause still black out. My aunty over heard that the electricity bill was not paid. So as soon as I got down. The manager charged me 1500 pesos cash plus 1200 pesos for lunch that I only got to eat two slices of pizza and a couple of bite of nacho beef. I didn't get to have the burritos. The Papabo manager quickly went to pay for their electricity bill after she spoke to the owner. My aunty and me went to the beach. I for sure locked the bedroom and still no electriçity. My son went to 7/11 to charge the iPad. We got back at the hotel at 8:30 or so and the electricity was on and my son also in the in the hotel. Do recognized that the hotel keys was an actual key, and I only have the key with. In my surprised our bedroom door was wide open, our things are scattered on the chair and table. Now, just today at this time, I'm still looking for my necklace that has my Mom piece of earing, my oldest son alligator tooth pendant and my initial pendant A. I'll call the hotel when I finished looking at our things here.Yap, my necklace is missing.

JJustin Brito Santana⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The BEST hostel experience I’ve ever had! I honestly cannot recommend Yellow Umbrella Hostels in Cebu City enough. From the moment I arrived until the moment I checked out, every single part of my stay exceeded my expectations. The first thing that stood out was how spotlessly clean everything was. The rooms, bathrooms, common areas, everywhere was exceptionally well maintained. You can really tell that the staff takes great pride in keeping the hostel comfortable, organized, and welcoming. What truly makes this place special, though, is the people. Manager Glen deserves special recognition. He goes above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome, valued, and at home. His professionalism, kindness, and genuine care for guests create such a positive atmosphere that you can feel it throughout the entire hostel. And honestly, the rest of the staff were just as incredible. I would write names but truly every staff was amazing because every single person I met was outstanding. They were always smiling, approachable, eager to help, and genuinely seemed to enjoy making guests’ experiences unforgettable. That level of hospitality is rare and deserves to be celebrated. The atmosphere is warm, safe, and incredibly comforting. Whether you’re traveling solo or with friends, this hostel makes it easy to relax, meet amazing people, and truly enjoy your time in Cebu. The service was consistently exceptional, every request was handled quickly, every interaction was friendly, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. I’ve stayed in many accommodations while traveling, and Yellow Umbrella Hostels genuinely ranks among the very best. It’s not just a place to sleep, it’s a place that makes you feel at home. If you’re visiting Cebu City, do yourself a favor and stay here. You won’t regret it. Thank you to Glen and the entire team for making my trip so memorable. You have set the standard for what hospitality should be, and I can’t wait to come back. 10/10. Five stars aren’t enough!

GGuest UserI like that the location is close to the event I have attended. The staff are also friendly and approachable. It would have been better though if there were toiletries provided like may tissue. I like that there's available hot and cold water. I will still come back though. I still have plans of getting a room here on my next events.

GGuest UserBudget Friendly Stay with Mixed Experiences - Good for the Price, but Be Prepared for Quirks We booked this hotel for three nights primarily because of its incredibly low price, around 500+ pesos. Upon arrival, we were surprised to see the area filled with HPG (Highway Patrol Group) motorcycles; it turned out they were also staying there due to an ASEAN event in Lapu-Lapu, which made the vicinity quite busy. When we entered, the reception was unattended for a moment, and when someone did assist us, they seemed rushed and hard to communicate with. Being escorted to our room was an ”okay” experience. For the 500-peso price point, it met expectations! The room had a refrigerator, and we were happy to find a bucket and dipper, which meant we could do our laundry a huge plus for us. While the shower pressure was slightly better than our previous accommodation, we still weren't fully satisfied and ended up using the bucket and dipper for bathing. We enjoyed the TV, even if it was a manual one at least it worked! However, our experience at the dining area upon checkout was quite chaotic. The staff there seemed disorganized; they were laughing, and then there was a clear concern from another guest whose order hadn't arrived despite being placed earlier than ours. It turned out their order wasn't even listed, indicating an absent-minded mistake. The scene quickly escalated with staff shouting questions like ”Where's the order?” and ”Which order?” among themselves, creating a very confusing and unpleasant atmosphere.

GGuest UserThe environment, location, and service are all excellent, offering great value for money. However, the room facilities aren't the best; the bathroom door and fittings are quite old, and the air conditioning is noisy. It would be even better if there was a table in the room to put things on.

GGuest UserExcellent hotel! The rooms are cozy, and the staff are polite and helpful. The rooms are fresh and clean, and the grounds are well-maintained too. The location isn't the most convenient if you're on foot, but the hotel itself is in a beautiful spot. They also offer scooters at a very good price – cheaper than renting them 'on the street'. When we arrived, all the scooters were taken, but the girls at the reception suggested a company they work with, and everything was delivered right to the hotel for us. When a hotel scooter became available, we took that. They also helped us with tours. We initially booked the hotel for 2 nights, but we loved it so much that we extended our stay for another 3. By the way, the transfer from the hotel is also more cost-effective than arranging it yourself. The hotel owners, Nick and Raquel, are very kind and open-hearted; it was a real pleasure and very interesting to chat with them. Abigail and the other girls are also positive and always ready to help. At this hotel, you feel like you're visiting close relatives. Thank you! We would be very happy to stay with you again!)

AAnonymous UserIt's our 2nd time at allsons Inn. Their location is perfect for travellers like me. I like the process for check in and check out and their staffs are friendly. The only thing that caught our attention is the smell in the elevator and no rugs inside the room. It would be better if they can at least put rugs outside the toilet.

AAndyDang99It is located on the road going up the mountain from the center of Cebu City. The area is developing and there are high-rise apartment buildings, but there are also many very peaceful houses (if you head towards the valley from the guesthouse site, you will see many dugout huts, and although it is not a slum, you will enter an area where people with low incomes live). There is a restaurant nearby, and the food is delicious. The living room and kitchen are on the first floor (shared with the staff, so it smells good at mealtimes). The beds are perfect, there is air conditioning, and the shower has good water pressure, so I think it is the best choice for backpackers. The photo shows the road going down to the valley area mentioned above in the neighborhood. It was a Sunday when I stayed there, so I could see the residents singing karaoke.
