Mohan's binsar retreat is a secluded place for a few days stay away from the city of almora. Very close to kesar devi temple. I located the property through internet. Rooms are well furnished, neatly decorated, with lovely views of the valley. Amenities were excellent, services prompt. Food was of excellent quality, and hygiene maintained. Overall excellent stay. The hospitality was really good. The property is beautiful and very tastefully done - retaining the vintage charm. The stay offers an excellent sunset and sunrise view. The last 600 m of the road is pretty bad and the hotel provides free pick up and drop in their 4x4 vehicle. The last 3 kms in the national park is slightly bad too and would need a car with good clearance - however the property is in constant touch and provides guidance and support as needed. We stayed from 25th december to 27th december and opted for himalayan view room with breakfast and dinner and it was a nice decision. Great views of the mountains from the room. Beautiful view. There are only 13 rooms and they have dormitory also for the driver. Staff is good especially narendrajee. Food is very tasty and buffet was not there. U can order anything from the menu and they will give you. Food very very tasty. They provide heater also in the room of good quality. The best thing is bay window in the room. I would like to rate my stay excellent. It is very easy to visit the local market as the hotel is located at the middle of almora city. Food we ate at the hotel was tasty and the service provided was good. Hot water was available all the time. Behavior of the staff was generous. Lift is also available. Room had a beautiful view of mountains. Two points on which hotel can work - one is tha blanket provided was heavy. If they can replace them by light blankets. We were very happy with the clean rooms. The cafe upstairs is tastefully done and you could spend hours there after ling hikes. There are several hikes from points adjoining the cafe. There is an open field/meadow like clearing across the road that attracts birds. They have driver rooms for drivers of guests who stay at the nearby upmarket resorts. It makes for interesting conversations if you wish. The food was very good as we had special requests for our children. It was beyond our expectations. Located in one of the remote villages of Almora district, Deholi and altogether managed & restored by the natives of village Diholi.- A 111 years old, vintage paradigm of Kumaoni Architecture.- Pathans from Afghanistan were summoned to design and build this shelter.- Huge Rosewood, Sal, and Oak Wooden planks installed inside the house were transported back from Ramnagar (104 kilometers) through Bullock Carts. - The house was uninhabited for the last 60 years.- This abode was a hidden habitat for several freedom fighters in the course of pre Independence Era.- Stones used to construct the structure of the house are 10 to 15 feet long and hand carved so neatly that seems kind of impossible in the current time period.- Doors and Windows of the house have wooden carvings of different gods & animals dating back 100 years.- As an Indian tradition we do not charge for food from our guests, also we are remote and with a purpose, we do not have a kitchen where you can order À la carte.
