I had a very pleasant stay at JR Hotel Nikko Sapporo. The service quality is high and the staff are genuinely friendly and helpful throughout. One surprisingly nice touch: the toilet paper is not single-ply, which already feels more comfortable than many other hotels. For guests, there are discounted rates for the spa and salon. The spa even has a rest area where Hokkaido ice popsicles and milk are provided for free in the evening, which is a lovely perk after a day of sightseeing. Do note, though, that salon slots are limited and can be hard to book during busy periods, so reserve early if this is important to you. Location-wise, the hotel is extremely convenient: it’s within a 5-minute walk from JR Sapporo Station and is directly connected to a mall, making dining and shopping very easy. That said, navigating the area during peak times can be tricky, and it felt even more crowded due to ongoing construction around the station during my visit. The main downside is that there is no laundromat in the hotel. You’ll need to use the paid laundry service, which can get quite expensive if you have a large load, so plan accordingly. I’d recommend JR Hotel Nikko Sapporo for its excellent service, comfortable touches, and unbeatable location!

The hotel's breakfast lives up to its reputation; there are eight kinds of seafood daily, and while the quality isn't top-notch, the quantity is generous and filling. The salmon roe, in particular, is quite good. Another nice touch is the all-you-can-eat ice cream available in the lobby from 7 PM, and free drinks after 2 PM. The room was on the smaller side, with the single room only having a slightly larger bathroom than a typical business hotel. What I wasn't too happy about were the old and thin towels. The bath towel even had a slight odor on the first night, as if it hadn't been washed. Luckily, I brought my own disposable towel. Amenities can be picked up in the lobby and are quite comprehensive.

The Hotel location is about 7 mins walk to Odori Station Exit 1. The 'Streetcar' station was about 3 mins walk from the hotel. Super convenient. Walking distance to underground shopping mall. The hotel room was spacious about 28 sqm in view that most hotel in Japan is quite small. The breakfast spread was superb. Best in Sapporo. The hotel was very generous to provide FREE Hokkaido snacks with hot and cold drinks at Lounge Area from 3 pm to 9pm. Overrall our stay was excellent.

The room facing Nakajima Park would be incredibly cozy and relaxing, especially if the weather is good or it's snowing. It's about a six to seven-minute walk from the subway station, and exit 3 has an elevator. You can tell the room's decor is a bit dated, but it's very clean and has a luggage rack. The lounge on the first floor overlooks a garden. Overall, it's a great choice for a relaxing getaway.

The room in Sapporo was significantly larger than the one in Nagoya. However, for women's skincare products, they aren't self-service; you need to request them from the front desk. The location is pretty good, with popular attractions accessible on foot or by subway. It's a solid, reliable choice – you can't go wrong with it. The breakfast was quite rich, though the one I had later in Hakodate was even more impressive. By the way, the Patagonia outlets across the street have closed, so don't be misled by older reviews.

It's super close to Sapporo Station, just a hundred meters walk directly from the exit, so no stress at all with luggage. The room cleanliness was impeccable; everything was spotless, making for a very comfortable stay. The front desk is mainly self-service, so no waiting in line, making check-in and check-out quick and hassle-free. The most delightful surprise was the amenities area – not only did they have all the usual toiletries, but they even thoughtfully provided face masks! Such attention to detail really made the experience. Overall, a perfect experience. Next time I'm in Sapporo, I'm choosing this place again!

Had a great stay here! The bathroom and hallways are incredibly clean and well-maintained. The room itself is comfortable and comes with a small table and chair, which is very convenient. Downstairs in the lobby, they provide an amenity bar where you can pick up extra toiletries to take up to your room. There is also a Lawson convenience store right next to the hotel, making it super handy for quick snacks and drinks. As for parking, the hotel's own parking lot has very limited spaces, but don't worry—there are plenty of public parking lots available right around the area. Highly recommended for a convenient and clean stay in Susukino!

The hotel exceeded my expectations! I definitely want to book it again. It's a shame I couldn't properly use the free spa since I was on a one-day tour. However, it was great that the airport bus stop (for both directions) wasn't across the street but rather about 150m straight ahead after turning left from the hotel's main entrance. I stayed from July 13th to 16th (3 nights), 2026, and wished I could have stayed longer. I missed breakfast because of an early start for the one-day tour, but I'd like to try it next time. I highly commend the staff for their kindness. Mr. Harada's friendly guidance was particularly impressive. My thanks and appreciation again. The meeting points for my one-day tour were Odori Park and Sapporo Station North Square. Odori Park Clock Tower was about a 6-minute walk, and the North Square was about 15 minutes. The birthday card and the beautiful view from the 21st floor made my entire stay delightful. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Sapporo and doing tours in the area, especially with the great free hot springs on the 14th floor.

The hotel boasts an excellent location, right near Tanukikoji Shopping Street, within walking distance to Odori Park, the Sapporo TV Tower, and other attractions. It's incredibly convenient for both sightseeing and shopping. The bedding in the room is comfortable, and you can even see the Ferris wheel from the window, offering a great view. The staff are warm and polite. The front desk thoughtfully provides complimentary travel-sized toiletries like facial cleanser and toner. The breakfast quality is astonishing! The variety is extensive, and the ingredients are fresh. You can even DIY your own seafood bowls with sea urchin and sashimi. They also offer ramen, soup curry, and Japanese stir-fries. A particular green smoothie was delicious. The hotel has its own hot spring. Since the room bathrooms are a bit small, we mostly used the hot spring facilities for bathing during our stay, which was very comfortable and relaxing.

Bed is rock hard. After 4 nights, I have serious back ache, plus I'm lacking in sleep, due to how hard and uncomfortable the bed was. The pool facility wasn't fully open (it only does so in August). The last week in July at least opens the some of the outside area for use, but it doesn't fully open until August. They'd also made the 25m outside pool a wipeout/ninja obstacle course so, if you want to actually swim [do some lengths etc] then the only place you can do this was initially only open in August and even then it is now taken over by an obstacle. The indoor sections are open all year round. You have to pay extra to access the slides - not too crazy at 500 or 600yen depending on the day for unlimited access (you're given a wristband). Breakfast was ok. Wide variety of foods - some of which I wouldn't normally associate with breakfast, but still nice to have choices. Signage claims it gets busy after 8am. This is definitely not true - it's busy when it first opens at 7am and then slowly gets quieter over the 7~10 opening times (last entry at 9:30). Can't speak about weekends tho. Shuttle bus is busiest at the 5pm time slot. Overall, a ”resort” that claims to be 4 stars it most certainly isn't. 2 stars yes. 2.5 maybe. But the whole place just feels quite dated and far from the luxury expected from a ”4 star hotel”. Apart from the bed as I've already mentioned, the room was a good enough size but all the decor and controls were old. The Aircon control was worn and glitchy (button presses would turn it off etc) but at least it worked and made the room the temp we wanted. The lighting panel has had so many changes there are stickers on it to blank out buttons which no longer function - fair enough, but maybe spend a bit of money on a decent upgrade??? This hotel isn't cheap!

March 24, 2026 I stayed at Mori no Uta for my birthday. I contacted the hotel in advance, and they had a birthday card ready for me. The hotel offers a free shuttle service from Makomanai Station, which needs to be booked beforehand. On the day I checked out, I booked the 9:30 AM shuttle, arrived at the station at 10:00 AM, and smoothly caught the 10:10 AM airport bus to New Chitose Airport. It was all seamless. The Japanese-Western style room was 40 square meters and quite spacious. It had a huge massage chair and a coffee machine. What impressed me most was dinner, where they offered freshly made pizza or naan that you could customize with toppings and have delivered to your table once baked. The naan crust was soft and fragrant with a wheaty aroma. I specifically asked for extra large shrimp and a generous amount of cheese – it was impossible not to love it! The dinner seating faced a beautifully illuminated snow scene outside, which was absolutely stunning. The hotel lobby boasts a magnificent, floor-to-ceiling fireplace, which is perfect for photos. In the evening, there was a small harp concert, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. Both breakfast and dinner featured incredibly creamy ice cream. I had two big bowls at each meal and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Location is immaculate - right in the heart of the onsen town where there are many other similar onsen hotels around and a community of guests, local residents and staff, so English is well spoken in general. We also happened to experience a local lantern lighting festival (ie. Like Tangled the Disney movie) where the town come together and provide you with a map to explore local spots and have the path lit up with lanterns - a pretty cool experience! Hotel is a little old and with the humidity of onsen facilities, therefore a little moldy at times, but I wouldn’t consider it not well-maintained/unclean. Facilities are great, lots of different types of onsen to try out and the hotel tries to keep you well-fed at all times with a lounge full of snacks and drinks, and stay-included dinners and breakfasts.

I stayed at this hotel in June. It's easily accessible from Sapporo Station, whether you take the ground-level route or the underground pass. The room was quite spacious, with two large windows that let in plenty of light. For drinking water, you can either use the glass carafe provided by the hotel to get water from the dispenser near the elevator, or simply buy water from the convenience store downstairs, which is also very convenient. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast, and you have the flexibility to choose between Japanese or Western buffet style. You can even switch between them daily – no need to commit to one. Just show your room number at the restaurant entrance. I personally found the Japanese breakfast tastier than the Western one. The Western restaurant was incredibly noisy, like a bustling market, whereas the Japanese restaurant, located on the first basement floor, was much quieter and less crowded. There's a direct airport shuttle bus right outside the hotel. As it's the first stop, the bus arrives early. You can board about ten minutes before the scheduled departure time. The driver helps with luggage, and you can pick any seat. Upon arrival at the airport, you pay 1500 JPY in cash. I've noticed the ticket price seems to be increasing, so it's best to check the current price listed on the timetable. There are also fare reminders inside the bus. During the summer, there aren't many people, and the bus runs on time. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. I noticed that most of the negative reviews were from guests who stayed in winter, complaining about outdated facilities and high prices (over 1000 JPY per night). In summer, it's only around 400 JPY per night including breakfast, which is why I'm giving a good review. The only minor inconvenience was that you have to decide how many disposable toiletries you need at check-in, as they are provided by the front desk and not available for self-service.

I just returned to Shanghai yesterday, and today I'm actively recommending this hotel! It's a fantastic hotel with excellent facilities, warm service, and delicious breakfast. There are two breakfast options: a set menu on the 22nd floor with a great view, and a buffet on the first floor. I stayed for two days and tried both – they were both excellent. The location is great, less than a 10-minute walk from the JR station. The room space is good and well-designed; it could easily fit three large suitcases. There's even a luggage scale in the lobby. Considering the price, this is the most balanced and comprehensive hotel I've stayed at in Japan, bar none.

This is my go-to hotel whenever I visit Sapporo. It's a convenient 7-8 minute walk from Sapporo Station's underground passage, and you can also reach Odori Park through the underground shopping street. Supermarkets, restaurants, bakeries, and cafes are all easily accessible nearby. The hotel's own bakery and cafe are also excellent. The airport bus stop behind the hotel is very convenient, and for local day trips, you only need to walk to Sapporo Station. So, the location and amenities are perfect. The hotel offers larger rooms, though the layout isn't ideal – they're long and narrow, which feels a bit inconvenient. However, the Sapporo beer in the executive rooms is a definite plus, and the hotel breakfast is incredibly delicious. This hotel boasts an excellent location! Nakajima Park is right downstairs, and in the mornings, you can see many people walking their dogs and strolling around. Directly across the street is a Lawson convenience store, perfect for grabbing some bread and snacks to enjoy in the park, where pigeons and crows will come begging for food. The Nakajima Koen subway station is also right downstairs. It's just a three-stop, 5-minute ride to Sapporo JR Station, a major transportation hub. Alternatively, you can choose to walk there, it's only about 1 kilometer north. Plus, walking north takes you through Susukino, Sapporo's most lively district, then a little further north to Tanukikoji Shopping Street, Sapporo's best shopping area, and then even further north to Odori Park, Sapporo's central axis, before finally reaching Sapporo JR Station. I often went downstairs in the middle of the night when I was hungry, walking 10 minutes to Susukino for some late-night eats. The hotel itself is quite grand, truly living up to its 5-star standard, and the staff are very friendly and polite. The rooms aren't large, which is typical for Japanese hotels, but they are perfectly functional. There's a refrigerator in the room, so you can buy cold drinks and ice cream from the convenience store to store there and enjoy at night. However, you can tell the hotel is indeed old, having been built in 1964, with some areas showing signs of age. But the best part is that the price of this hotel was surprisingly affordable. For a 5-star hotel, I paid only 750 (yen) a night when I stayed in late August, which truly amazed me. Since I wrote this review on a computer, I can't upload a video here, so I'll just leave it at that. If I come to Sapporo again, I would definitely choose to stay here.

The hotel's location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk to the airport bus stop and about 100 meters from Exit 4 of Byeon-dong Subway Station (which has both elevators and escalators). There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, making dining and shopping very convenient. A pleasant surprise was having congee for breakfast. You can also choose one-day tours that meet in the hotel lobby, saving time and effort. Many guests stay here, so the breakfast queue starts forming before 6:30 AM, but the breakfast spread is extensive.

We stayed for 2 nights, and had a pleasant stay. The hotel is 3 mins walk to Susukino and 5 mins walk to 狸小路 with many convenient stores and restaurants around. The front desk staff helped us to check in with the check in machine and the process was fast. We like the beds and room size, and the free flow of Haskap juice throughout afternoon and evening. The drawbacks are the front desk staff have limited English and didn’t understand our request to have a cleanup in our room as we were sleeping late and missed morning cleanup. The nearest airport shuttle bus stop across from hotel abest Sapporo is 4 blocks away and we have to take a taxi around 950yen with luggages to get there in the slushy snow. There are many Thai tourists in both evenings when we went back to hotel so the hotel is quite popular and crowded. Nevertheless the hotel was able to give us a high floor room away from elevators per our request and we had a quiet room which we appreciate a lot. Will definitely consider staying again given the hotel room is a good price!

This hotel is simply perfect – clean, convenient, and every corner is filled with a fresh, gentle fragrance. The background music creates a sense of peace and subtle joy; the ambiance is truly exceptional! 👍👍 The room had plenty of hangers, and the air conditioning was quiet and responsive. The laundry room and ice machine were also very clean and easy to use. Both my child and I found the bedding incredibly comfortable, and the light switches were simple and convenient. Everything felt thoughtfully designed for guests – so appreciative! 💋💋 There's a FamilyMart downstairs and a Lawson right outside. Within a 5-10 minute walk (in different directions) you can find a 30-year-old subway station, coffee shops, and bakeries. The hot springs and breakfast cost extra, but they are absolutely worth it. The airport shuttle bus goes directly to the hotel, though the journey can be quite long (2.5 hours during evening rush hour). The hotel also provides a shuttle service to the JR station. Susukino is about a 20-minute walk away.

We’ve stayed here for 7 nights. Which was a bit longer stay for Sapporo. However as the weather was so bad with heavy snow, so we did enjoy our stays in hotel during the snowy weather. The breakfast is so great and we expect it every morning, as it includes a variety of foods so you always can find something to enjoy. All staffs are very friendly and welcoming, especially two male & senior chefs at ramen and omelette. We also bought spa in our room rate, so every night we did enjoy a pleasant spa( though it’s not hot spring). In front of hotel, there is a small mall - BIVI , which with some good restaurants ,nice cafe (Gentle Bagel) and coop. Even at the heavy snowing days, you have no worries to spend time in. B1 with very practical laundry service , costs are fairly . If you have budget, you can choose only room (without breakfast and spa) plans, which is with very CP, strongly recommended.

First off, Ivy's ambiance is subtly pleasant and very comfortable. The service, I found, was just right. The way staff would nod and smile every time I entered, that subtle presence of 'we're here if you need us' felt really good. Almost all facilities have no time limits (except for the sauna which closes at midnight), so no need to rush for showers or the gym. It's perfect for night owls to quietly explore the hotel at any time! The lounge always has replenished snacks and drinks, and public spaces are always tidied up. Of course, this assumes everyone helps maintain a quiet atmosphere. The room layout was smooth, quiet, and conducive to good sleep. The air conditioning and all other facilities were noise-free. The flowing private hot spring was the best white noise for falling asleep. The room lighting was also perfectly designed! I really slept well, so checking out at 11 am was a bit difficult. It would be perfect if check-out could be at 12 pm! Even in summer, it's not boring at all. Although the Summer Lantern Festival isn't a huge event, it's still interesting! At least it's great for photos! I'd honestly love to come back in winter to experience the incredible snowy scenery! A Magical Hokkido Escape-The Absolute Highlight of My Trip. Returning to Hokkido after nearly a decade, we stayed at serveral properties, but this hotel was the most impressive stay of my 10-day journey. It was truly the magical experience I've been waiting for. Hightlights of the Stay: Warm Welcome: Greeted with humble Japanese smiles and genuine hospitality, followed by a choice of sparkling wine-a truly sophisticated start. The Room: With only 23 suites, it feels very private. The room was spacious and clean, featuring traditional tatami and a private in-room onsen. Opening the window to breath in the crisp winter air while soaking and watching the snowfal was pure bliss. Atmosphere and Facilities: the common areas include a cozy fireplace, a library, and a terrace overlooking the waterfront where the lake meets the river. Complimentary coffee and drinks are available thougtout the day. There is also a full spa on-site. Service and Logistics: World-class service from a very polite team. Free reserved parking is provided. Note on Location: While it's not in a walking-distance area during winter, the hotel is a destination in itself. You can easily spend the whole day relaxing here without wanting to leave. We'll definitely be back to experience this beauty in other seasons. A huge thank you to the staff for such an unforgettable stay! Exceptional Dining: The fine-dining meals feature premium local ingredients; the Monkfish (Anko) was particularly outstanding and delicious. The hotel room did not come cheap, but overall, we had a pleasant stay aside from a hiccup during check-in when the staff forgot to inform us that our room was ready and kept us waiting. The public onsen was great and we spent more time there than the private in-room onsen. The free ice-creams, drinks and ramen (during supper time) were delightful touches. Pillow gallery offered options of different types of pillows was great! The hotel is shoes-free, meaning one has to remove our shoes and store in the lockers at the entrance and move around shoeless or in the tabi socks provided. The yukata pyjamas provided were comfortable, so were the beds. The use of sliding doors meant one will not hear of slamming of room doors by other guests. It is a cosy hotel to stay in. What we did not like was the lack of a sheltered drop-off point to unload our luggages and the sensor lights at the hallway of the room. As it could not be dimmed or switched off, it would light up brightly when going to the toilet in the middle of the night.

The hotel is very smart and well decorated, lots of golden tones which I bet look amazing in autumn. The staff are super helpful. The private onsen rooms overlooking the trees are gorgeous. A very zen experience. The food is next level. We skipped breakfast both days because we were so full from dinner. The first night was the Japanese, Chinese and then roast beef with Hokkaidos finest accompaniments ( corn, potatoes and spinach). The second night was even better with a turbot fish course and pork… followed by Salmon rice too delicious.

The room is huge at 54 square meters—the largest hotel room I've ever stayed in in Japan. The location is very convenient, and the apartment-style room allows for cooking. The bathroom is also super spacious. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Sapporo. It was also spotlessly clean.

This hotel is super conveniently located right behind Sapporo JR Station, a short walk from the North Exit towards Hokkaido University. Hokkaido University itself is just across the street diagonally, and there's a FamilyMart, 7-Eleven, Lawson, and even a Hokkaido convenience store nearby – couldn't ask for more convenience! The area around Sapporo Station is also great for shopping and dining. You can grab all sorts of popular souvenirs, cakes, and desserts from Daimaru department store and bring them right back to the hotel to enjoy at your leisure! The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable. However, if you add an extra bed to a double room to make it a triple, there's not much space left to walk around once you open a large suitcase. The hotel breakfast was definitely up to standard. While the variety wasn't huge, the food tasted great. The roasted beef, desserts, vegetables, and steamed potatoes were all excellent, and they even had slight variations each day, which was a nice touch! Self-service luggage storage was also very convenient. I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm in Sapporo!
