Osaka Station/Umeda/Yodoyabashi/Hommachi Osaka|0.37km from city center
This hotel was great, exceeding my expectations! Even though the room was small, the layout was very clever. There's a decent-sized empty space right by the entrance, perfect for laying out a suitcase flat. It's really close to Yodoyabashi Station, about a five or six-minute walk (?), which is super convenient if you have luggage. Shinsaibashi is just two subway stops away, and Umeda is also incredibly close. There's both a Lawson and a FamilyMart nearby, so grabbing a late-night snack is easy. It's not on a main road, so it's very quiet. I got the vibe that this area has a lot of office workers; at night, the streets were full of salarymen just getting off work or leaving izakayas. Ah, the corporate grind.

The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the subway station and consists of two buildings: the main building and an annex. The rooms aren't huge, but they're a good size for hotels in the same price range. They offer 24-hour hot water, coffee, drinks, and a microwave for heating food, which is great. Free luggage storage is also available. There's a Chinese-speaking staff member at the front desk, so communication was seamless. Breakfast was decent too. The only downside, if I had to pick one, was the constant stream of tour groups. It's also just a 5-minute walk from the main shopping street in Shinsaibashi.

This hotel has a sustainability concept, means no water bottles or change bedsheets daily. My family is lucky to stay at the 5th floor where there’s easy access to washing machine and water dispenser. The cleanliness of the bedroom: the bed a bit dusty, making my legs itchy. Toilet is small typical Japanese bathrooms. Luggage delivery wise, u need to scan a qrcode and do it ourselves and later pass to the front desk before 10am. Staff service is professional, speak short and sweet. Location wise is quite convenient. Walking distance to kuromon market and 10min walk to shinsaibashi from namba. From namba station to hotel, there’s a long walk so families with old members need to find a cab. Easy to get a cab or uber since hotel is located roadside. For a 4-star hotel with expensive room price, there’s many “self-service” and hygiene issues I don’t think is worth it.

It's a great hotel, location is in the business district so a little bit further from central Osaka (Dotonbori etc) if that's where you'd prefer to be. The onsen is great, as long as you follow the rules it's really relaxing and the amenities are fabulous. Room was great, a really good size for Japanese standards, complete with complimentary waters everyday. It's quite a dark hotel so if that's not your vibe then I wouldn't stay here but we really enjoyed it.

Absolutely top-notch! I'd have to say that while it's incredibly convenient for USJ, other attractions are a tiny bit further out. I'm not giving it a perfect score just so they don't get too proud. Everything else was super, super, super satisfying! The hot springs are fantastic, with an open-air bath. The sauna was incredibly popular and packed, so I was a bit bummed I didn't get to use it. Plus, there's a relaxation area after the hot springs where you can enjoy the night view, which is also great. It's just a shame some couples, for whatever reason, didn't go back to their rooms and hogged the space there 😅. The razors come with soap! And the toothbrush cups are color-coded!!! These little details are truly amazing! They also gave two full-body 'Kyuusoku Jikan' patches. I happened to sprain my lower back that day, and after a hot spring soak, the sprained area got really warm. Luckily, they had these patches – even though they weren't medicated! They truly saved me. The next day, I could move freely and my trip wasn't disrupted at all! The bed was also super comfortable! And from the window, it was even a river view room 🤣. When I left the hotel on the second day, the lobby was changing its flower display to hydrangeas, and it always smelled lovely, not like a cheap air freshener. I seriously can't praise this place enough!!

Right next to Shin-Imamiya subway station, so getting around is incredibly convenient. The front desk staff rotate, with two people on duty at a time, including locals, Chinese, Koreans, and Indians. There's a women's shower on the 4th floor, men's showers on the 6th, and a men's bathhouse and microwave on the 10th. Downstairs, there are convenience stores, pharmacies, and places to eat nearby. The room was super small, but quite clean, and they provided towels and plastic slippers. Because it's close to the train tracks, there's a bit of noise. Plus, there's some noise from motorbikes speeding by. I stayed for 3 days, and there was hardly any noise from other guests.

Staying at Zentis Osaka was a truly unique experience, like living inside a work of art. Designer Tara Bernerd masterfully blends the subtlety of Japanese culture, the elegance of old money British style, and Nordic minimalism into every corner of the hotel. Each room has a slightly different design, embodying the hotel's 'Art-in-Residence' concept. From the calligraphy on the walls to the cups you drink from, everything is crafted by Japanese artists, while the furniture is sourced from renowned Nordic designers. Every moment of your stay is spent experiencing and utilizing art, providing a subtle, enriching nourishment for both body and soul, truly reflecting the hotel's name: Zentis. I highly recommend the hotel's breakfast. The Michelin-starred chef has curated a menu that includes Western, Japanese, and vegetarian options, along with a small self-service buffet. The hotel is situated in the most vibrant part of Umeda. Just outside, a row of understated buildings hides many famous Japanese restaurants, most of which require reservations. You'll also find McDonald's and convenience stores just around the corner. It's only a five-minute walk to Central Island Park, and during my visit, the rose garden was in full bloom, which was definitely a bonus. The service throughout my stay was impeccable. 'Make yourself at home' isn't just a slogan here; they truly live up to it.

Location was impeccable, just diagonally opposite Namba and the Nankai line that leads to Kansai airport. Lotsa food in the vicinity of the hotel. The room looked new, were clean, quiet and relatively spacious for up to 2 people. By relatively spacious, I could leave open a suitcase on the couch at the foot of the bed without having too much issues moving about. The toilet was the standard Japanese style inbuilt capsule with the auto-washing WCs and nice-smelling shower gel, shampoo n conditioner. Other amenities, like toothbrush, lotion, shaver, cotton buds, etc. can be self-picked at the lobby for free. For the rate I paid, it’s definitely great value! Highly recommended for couples seeking a short stay.

The hotel's side entrance is conveniently located right next to Lawson, just off the subway. There's even a hot spring on the 31st floor! While it does cost extra, the price is reasonable, and you even get Haagen-Dazs. After a day of exploring, a good soak is a must. The hotel's location is excellent, conveniently accessible from either Nippombashi or Nagahoribashi subway stations. The best option is Exit 10 at Nippombashi Station, which has an elevator – perfect if you have heavy luggage and want to avoid stairs. Dotonbori is right across the street from the hotel, and Shinsaibashi is also very close, making shopping incredibly convenient. You can even walk to Namba Station, though it's a bit further, where you'll find Takashimaya department store, which is great for browsing. The hotel has a hot spring bath, which is popular with Korean guests, and offers unlimited ice cream and Yakult! The front desk staff are warm and polite, and some even speak Chinese. Convenient walking distance to and from the Sakaisuji-Honmachi Station serving the Chuo Line [C] and Sakaisuji Line [K], makes for an easy thoroughfare to all parts of the city, Umeda, and Universal Studios, too. Great amenities are its upper floor Onsen on the 14th floor, along with the swimming pool and gym facilities for an additional (2 700¥) per visit. Room size is fairly spacious for solo travelers, but opt for beds for two persons or couples. The hotel does not have laundry facilities though the nearest laundromat is about 6-blocks away. Very clean and open 24/24. This hotel has a chapel inside on the second floor for those who are observant travelers (for Christian devotees). There are several other temples and shrines all within distance from the hotel itself. Accommodations are very good from a short stay to a business traveler’s perspective or personal experience within this part of Osaka’s financial districts. Very lovely places for returning visitors.

I stayed at Hotel Monterey La Soeur Osaka and absolutely loved it. The hotel has a beautiful, slightly European Art Deco style and feels elegant from the moment you walk into the lobby. Location is excellent – just a short walk to Osaka Business Park and within easy distance of Osaka Castle, so it’s very convenient for both sightseeing and business. This was my first time visiting Osaka, and since I wasn't familiar with the area, I booked this hotel for 5 nights based on its good reviews. Our flight was early, and after a long, tiring journey, especially for us older folks, we were really hoping to check in early, even if it meant paying for an extra night. However, the hotel's official check-in time is 3 PM. I had contacted Trip.com beforehand, and they told me the hotel had agreed to a 12 PM check-in, but the front desk said they hadn't received any such notification and that same-day bookings weren't possible. So, we had no choice but to wait. Another surprising thing was that bottled water isn't provided in the room – this was a first for me. Also, the soundproofing in the room isn't great. Aside from these issues, everything else was fantastic. Of course, we understand that hotels have their own rules. There was a gentleman at the front desk who spoke Chinese and patiently explained how to take the train, where to go for fun, what to watch out for, etc. He was incredibly detailed and thoughtful. The room was cleaned daily and kept spotless. Outside the hotel, there's a hot spring, and it's very close to both the subway and JR lines, plus there are convenience stores like FamilyMart nearby, making it super easy to buy things. Overall, I really love this hotel. My trip was a bit rushed this time, and I didn't stay long enough. Next time, I plan to stay longer and will definitely book here again.

My teenage boys thoroughly enjoyed the onsen, night ramen, ice cream, and massage chairs. The Dormy Inn is very conveniently located—Kitahama Station (Brown Line) is less than a 2-minute walk away, and Yodoyabashi Station is about a 7-minute walk at a normal pace. Convenience stores and restaurants are also within 1–3 minutes’ walk. Aside from the cold winter temperatures, everything was excellent. There was no room cleaning during our 6-night stay; however, fresh towels were replenished daily. This is a quiet district, and if not for the winter chill, we would have gladly explored more of the surroundings on foot.

I used Osaka as my base for daily trips to surrounding cities, and for that purpose, this hotel was perfect. The bedding and onsen (hot spring) exceeded my expectations. The front desk is on the second floor, and after checking in, you can pick out your pajamas and a suitable pillow from a designated area on the same floor. Another highlight on the second floor is a free lounge bar for guests, offering complimentary drinks and alcohol. Many guests choose to grab a simple dinner from downstairs or on their way back, then enjoy it leisurely at the bar. The hotel's onsen has incredibly generous hours, operating overnight. It's fantastic to be able to soak and relax even after returning to the hotel late at night. There's a subway station and a Family Mart convenience store right below the hotel, making travel and finding food and drinks very convenient. We had a great stay at this hotel! We came here for two nights because we went to USJ and it was only a five minute walk to the entrance. They have a smokers lounge near vending machines at the first floor. The room was spacious, very clean (daily cleaning) and they have slippers and pyjamas for in the room. They have two cafes at the first floor (we only got coffee to go, very good prices) and they offer breakfast and dinner buffets (which we did not try). The hotel's location is superb. It's a convenient 3-5 minute walk to Osakajokoen JR Station, making it easy to get anywhere. There's an elevator inside the station that goes directly to the exit. After exiting, you walk about a hundred meters along a corridor to another elevator that takes you to ground level. Cross a small bridge and an intersection, and you're at the hotel. This is incredibly convenient if you have large luggage. The hotel is situated on the northeast side of Osaka Castle Park, by a small bridge, so you can easily stroll along the castle moat anytime. There are also countless restaurants if you walk to Kyobashi Station (and along the way). The Imperial Hotel Osaka boasts an excellent location near Sakuranomiya Station, offering stunning river views from its upper floors and even a glimpse of Osaka Castle in the distance. Below, the riverside greenery and small beach create a serene and lovely atmosphere. The hotel has a vintage charm, and while some facilities show their age, it didn't detract from a comfortable stay. The mattress was just right – not too soft, not too firm – and even the single beds were spacious. Room insulation was good, and the shower had strong, hot water, which was very pleasant. However, the lighting was a bit dim, making it slightly inconvenient for getting ready. This visit was specifically to experience the 'Miyake' (a term for the three most prestigious hotels in Japan) level of service, and indeed, this venerable hotel delivered polite and thoughtful service without feeling overbearing. For instance, when checking out, knowing we had plenty of time before our flight and planned to explore Umeda further, they proactively reminded us about their shuttle service to the airport if we were heading there directly. When we said we were going to Umeda, they even asked if we'd like to leave our luggage at the hotel. They also directly helped us with calling a taxi, specifying the destination, and handling our luggage. I truly loved their Japanese staff! However, it seems the hotel has hired some South Asian staff for housekeeping. I noticed some dust on the glass shelf in the bathroom and on the TV cabinet. But these are minor issues, and overall, the cleaning was quite thorough.

When planning my trip to Osaka, I was looking for a hotel with a good location and ended up staying at Dotonbori Crystal Hotel. To get straight to the point, this is a hotel I'd highly recommend to anyone looking for accommodation near Dotonbori. The biggest advantage is, without a doubt, its location. It's incredibly close to the heart of Dotonbori, so I could walk to the Glico sign, Dotonbori River, and all the famous food streets. It was so convenient to walk back to the hotel even after staying out late at night, which made my travel itinerary much smoother. I felt it was the perfect location for anyone planning an Osaka trip focused on shopping and food. The room condition was also better than expected. While rooms in Japanese city hotels aren't typically very spacious, it was clean and well-organized, so I didn't experience any inconvenience. The bed was comfy, allowing me to rest well even after a long day of walking, and the lighting and ambiance of the room were cozy, making it a great place to relax. The bathroom was also clean, and the shower pressure was excellent, perfect for washing away the day's fatigue. The staff were also really friendly. The check-in and check-out process was...

The location is absolutely wonderful, there are about 3 convenient stores near the hotel, only a 500m walk to the nearest metro station and about 900m to Shin Osaka station, really convenient for those who want to explore nearby cities such as Kyoto, Uji, Nara and Himeiji etc. The staffs are really nice and the room is very clean, we will definitely book this place again for our next kansai trip!

Such a wonderful hotel to stay in after a long day of traveling. Check-in was a breeze and I couldn’t have been happier with the accommodations. MVP goes to the shower though, that pressure could strip paint off a fence. Love it.

The hotel is super close to the subway station, right at the exit. The room was generally clean, and both comfort and quietness were good. It's a bit of a walk from the JR station, about 15 minutes. Breakfast was quite expensive, so I didn't eat at the hotel; there's a Matsuya across the street which was a good alternative.

There are 3 people in our group, and the hotel has rooms with 3 separate beds available. The facilities and cleanliness are good, and it’s close to the train station and convenience stores. The only issue is that there is only one women’s restroom, so you may have to wait during peak hours.

The hotel is clean, affordable, and fully equipped with kitchenware, a washing machine, detergent, and a hairdryer. It's quiet and a bit far from the station. Self check-in was private and hassle-free. I liked it very much and will definitely stay there again.

Extremely satisfied! This hotel offers excellent value for money. You can store your luggage for free if you arrive before check-in time. The hotel has a washing machine (with a drying function) which is free to use (laundry pods are also provided free of charge by the hotel), and a free gym (with limited hours). The hotel decor is very new, and the room is exceptionally clean; everything feels brand new. It's just over 1 km from Dotonbori, about a ten-minute walk. There's also a microwave and a vending machine available.

The staff was really helpful. We were able to check in right away. There was only one outlet but an extension cord was provided. There were also vending machines in some floors so it was really helpful when we forgot to buy drinks from the convenience store. With its location, we walked daily to shinsaibashi for shopping and meals.

The neighborhood truly is very colorful/unique, and overall, for the price, we were satisfied. This was our most budget-friendly hotel during our 3-week trip to Japan. The nearest train station is just a minute away, and we got to the airport very quickly. On the ground floor, there's a large table and a microwave. You can use the washing machine for a fee. You can leave your luggage before check-in, but not after. Housekeeping is only provided for guests staying 3 nights or more. Towel changes are only available for a fee. It gets very noisy in the evenings due to the train.
