Hotel reception was very welcoming for a midnight (ish) arrival. Apartments are substantial in size with good facilities. The problem is that they allow smoking, even on non-smoking floors, so cigarette smells permeate the apartments and no amount of 'refreshing' spray can eliminate the odour. We had a problem on our last morning where the entire water supply for the apartment cut out mid-shower and wasn't restored for over an hour.
The staff organised a free cake for us to celebrate a birthday while staying at the hotel.
The promised chocolate hour timings were mis-communicated to us, which was disappointing for our children. Breakfast was a pretty good range with a few multi-cultural options. The on-demand omelette service always had a long line and the restaurant area didn't have enough tables during peak times to accommodate us.
Valet parking was available for hotel guests but because the apartments are in a building 100 or so metres away, it was not practical to use for our stay.
Overall a pleasant stay but still quite a few service issues for the hotel to improve.From$69

I had an amazing one night stay at the QE2 - as a Brit now living in Austrália the QE2 has a special place in my heart - never as a Cunard ship could I have afforded travelling to New York - now I could and the ship is sparkling - the renovation is fantastic throwing you back to the heyday of her life - the service was fantastic the food and drink authentic and worth the stay! All the staff at SLS Business Bay were so accommodating and attentive. The property is so clean and modern; very picturesque. We enjoyed Privilege pool, S Bar and Fi’lia. Thank you to GM Flavin for making sure our balcony view from the room was city view perfect. The bed is extra comfortable and the big bathtub is a special addition and was definitely utilized. Thank you to Adam who was so helpful during check in. Adam’s smile was so inviting. He’s just the man for the job at front desk check in. Keep him around. Special Thank you to Laura who was communicating with me for 2 months on room decoration for a special birthday surprise. So many other staff members that were exceptional. Thanks to Emmanuel for always keeping the guests safe and greeting us every morning and evening. We had an amazing time and will definitely recommend to our friends.From$213

We Stayed for 5 nights at th Fairmont Dubai and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From check in to check out with the lovely girl her name's, (Ms .Gharam)she was polite and extremely helpful. My husband and I stayed in a nice view room which had plenty of space for the two of us. The room was very clean and comfortable. We wanted a few days of rest and we enjoyed our time by the pool during the day. The staff at the poolside bar and restaurant were lovely and looked after us all day. A big thank you for all the staff and special thanks to Ms Gharam at front desk for her excellent service. Our favourite restaurant in the evening was greac, sushi. Food was really tasty and Also thank you to the man who was in charge of Shisha. The grape and mint was an amazing combination. We will definitely return to the Fairmont DubaiFrom$147

Great value economic hotel, very spacious, busy elevators like any vertical lodging. Also had an issue with the fire alarm staff should be trained to be more polite. The iron triggered the alarm, the staff showed up looking for penalty tribue, they were so fixated on the idea that I was smoking despite being a non-smoker, it was very dismissive and outright rude, I actually had a hard time thumbing them put of my suite!
Still the place is good, as long as the staff learn that extracting penalty fees from guests shouldn't become the priority, once they are educated, they were not be desperate to invade rooms and pretend to be professional investigators
They front desk did apologize for the poor training and promised it will never ever happen again. So based on that I must leave a 5/5 review as the hotel was nice when that incident is isolated.From$92

The Obelisk, Dubai Club upgrade is a must! The 360 degree views from floor 51 are unforgettable. I enjoyed many a cup of tea on Floor51 viewing amazing sunsets, the night sky and watching the coloured lights on the Burj Khalifa. During a very hot period due to a sudden change in the weather it was a treat to be able ‘pop’ to floor 51 and enjoy tea/coffee, afternoon tea and drinks in the evening whilst enjoying the stunning views. An excellent breakfast with a wide variety of items to meet all dietary needs. The room was lovely with stunning views. The swimming pool allowed a good swim and was particularly pretty in the evening. Fascinating watching the window cleaners! Not a job I would want. I am full of admiration. We did receive an upgrade as we waited 90 minutes to check in for club class. Staff need to be more relaxed. Just feel they are on edge. Your plate disappears nearly before you have finished eating. This in turn put me on edge. A more welcoming atmosphere needs to be adopted but still remaining standards. A special thank you goes to 'Satish' (do hope I have the correct name). The staff are friendly and helpful, from the guys at the door to the reception and the cleaners.
Furniture is old and you have to wait for a while tell water gets hot if you plan a shower, otherwise it is a very cold shower.

Upon entering the lobby with our family members whom we invited for dinner( the reasons why we stayed at your property in first place) Your Operations Manager - Irish Tadeo without even greeting us, started to mumble to herself saying ”Bawal kayo magpapasok ng bisita dito, may handover ako”. so we stopped. We asked her is there any problem? She, with her rude, big eyes and very demeaning tone just told us ” as per the Dubai policy visitors are not allowed” Working in reputed international hotels, we were quite suprised and taken back, so we asked her to be particular as to which Dubai policy she is referencing to. Because we know very well that if a visitor wishes to visit a hotel guest the reception could grant them entry given that identification card must be provided. BUT. Your Operations Manager said no. And now since she cannot cite whichever Dubai policy she knows, she suddenly change her statement and say that its the ”hotel” policy and it is advertised on the website. Guess what, lo and behold upon checking the website the note she is claiming is not even there. So we kindly ask once again ” If the previous night, visitors were allowed, given that extra payment was done, why this option is not offered to us especially we are only here to visit and have dinner with the family”? Her response is ”no we cannot allow”. When we asked her ”what if we check out now, since we are not happy with our stay due to the treatment we experienced from the time we checked in to how you deal with us?” She answered ” its fine. You can check out but we will not return your money” We hope at least someone can get back to us and clarifiy if certain policies are in place, or their treatment varies depending how much dirhams you are paying them. Anyway, this is just sharing our experience. Thank you Irish Tadeo the best Operations Manager we ever dealt with. Its so unfortunate that City Stay has to bear the poor caliber of employee such as yourself. You are an embarrasment to the accommodating Filipinos and empathetic hoteliers in UAE. Because of you, we were not even able to celebrate the supposedly good news that my sister whom you stopped is expecting a child. Thanks to you!

We did not try the massage as the cost are slightly higher than 5 star hotels considering the place is not luxurious just mediocre. I do not recommend travellers with noise sensitivity to stay here, they have live bands at the Ground Floor of the hotel building and they play Far Too Loud !!! Omg the banging of drums and music are something that you have to put up with. They offer us to move to another level but I think its not going to fix the problem. The restaurant in the hotel has not enough healthy choices to offer so If you have coeliac disease and food sensitivities like me you are in the wrong place. There is no coffee machine only filtered coffee in the buffet. Please do not look for Cappucino and decaf. I brought my own coffee sachet to avoid disappointments. This is not the Marriott I know which is known for luxury in London. I was highly disappointed. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the Mall of the Emirates. The area is not that great in my opinion, there was a young man followed us all the way to the hotel trying to sell us something. Here goes the saying You really get what you pay for!!!!
