The apartment is very convenient, it may take a long time to build and the facilities are not very new. The service staff is very enthusiastic, helping to get luggage, deliver things, check in and check out quickly. The restaurant is on the first floor, and the taste from the lobby to the entrance of the restaurant is too Indian. Breakfast is ok, because I usually only make oat milk, I do n’t eat Indian meals and do n’t comment on the taste. The service attitude is very good and very welcoming. The emphasis is on exaggerating the Asian restaurants in the same courtyard. The names are shown in the picture. The environment is very good. Recommend beef and chicken wings, according to their own requirements of spicy degree, more in line with my taste. Tiramisu is fine too. Overall satisfaction.From€76

I had a comfortable stay here in terms of service and hospitality. The staff were courteous. As far as the facility is concerned the room walls looked old and missing the appeal to qualify it as a 5 star hotel. I could clearly smell wood whenever I walk in the room and the bath area is quite small and not tidy. The food tasted decent but the options in the buffet are quite limited compared to other 5 star hotels. The breakfast daily and the staff were truly exceptional. The room was good, everything worked and in-room dining that is 24/7, was excellent. We arrived at 2am and the food, at that time, for famished travellers was truly appreciated.

The hotel is immaculate with beautiful aroma while entering. The rooms are really large 484ft². If you are smokers, you would need to upgrade to a balcony room as the property is a non-smoking environment.
The beds are extremely comfortable, and the sheets are perfect. Each room has a comfortable couch for a work station. The kitchenette is available to use at an additional 3000 inr extra. The dishwasher is available for use.
Bathroom is very spacious, and not to mention TAJ Soaps..

The bed sheets were replaced, but there were many stains. The humidity in the room was high, so the bed sheets and pillows did not have the smooth texture and cleanliness that you often get in hotels. The pillow covers were replaced, but the pillows themselves had a lot of stains and were uncomfortable.
Overall, it seemed like the facilities were not well maintained, replaced, or cleaned. I feel like the cleanliness is not up to par.
If the relationships and systems between employees and staff are affecting it, they need to be improved immediately so that they can reach international standards.
I was satisfied with the breakfast. This is the only relief.
The hotel is far from Chennai city center and the airport, so you will need to use Uber to get there. The metro is under construction. I think that access will improve significantly once the metro opens.From€38

The Taj Cormandel was a fantastic hotel and stay for us on our recent trip to Chennai. We were made welcome from the minute we stepped out of the cab. All staff are very helpful and friendly but Amit from the Chipstead deserves a special mention for his outstanding customer service and welcoming manner.
Rooms were large and very comfortable. Housekeeping and services were top notch, plentiful large towels and hot water, plus some housekeeping surprises we enjoyed on our stay.
Breakfasts were buffet style with lots of choice and culinary types, service was very well organised and any special breakfast requests delivered to your table.
Choice of restaurants for having dinner and a lounge for drinks and cocktails.
Swimming pool with outside loungers and fitness room are on the lower ground area of the hotel. Towels provided.

The concern here the hotel is heavily booked for events to individual parties so the cars coming to the hotel venue gets very decisively packed.
So, we were told drop outside the hotel making us walk up the slope and walk to the hotel.
We stay in the hotel for 7 nights and breakfast menu never got changed for 7 days!!! We can understand the normal fruits, bread and normal breakfast range is there but not the chicken curry throughout the 7 days. I am sure the chef can change the style of the chicken from curry to other varieties.
No complaints in terms service best we can ask for.

Returning to this location after eight years, I was hoping for the same 5star experience I once enjoyed. Unfortunately, it’s not quite what it used to be, and the property is beginning to show its age.
On a positive note, the staff were warm and courteous throughout—from the reception to the restaurant team. Their professionalism and friendliness was a highlight of the stay.
The restaurant manager Nazim was helpful.
However, the room was disappointing. Upon entering, there was a strong musty odor. When I mentioned this to the front desk, I was told all the rooms have this smell and that it would dissipate in about 10 minutes—but unfortunately, it lingered. It seems guests may simply become accustomed to it over time. Not me.. lol.
The Colony restaurant offered a decent breakfast, though dinner not that much. It felt overcrowded and cramped, and the buffet menu was not the greatest, with food quality was just average.
The key strengths of this location remain its convenient setting, friendly staff, and ample parking. With some updates and improvements, it could once again live up to its former reputation.From€63

But I cant say the same for the Travel Manager Mr Balaji who vehemently refused and not even seeking any other avenues or alternatives to assist us, totally
no empathy shown at all bearing the fact that we being tourists cant access to all your facilities

Grand Chennai hotel with great location and hospitality. Live up to its name. I feel safe staying with family members in room 603 and 605. Thanks for the complimentary fine and delicious breakfast. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. They helped me to carry my shopping bags to my room. I love Komal and Poushali both lovely receptionists at the front desk. The telephone operator is very kind to let me use the weighing scale. Live band and dance performance give a positve vibes.From€66

The Hotel is good but below competitors in it’s category. Hotel is very clean. Location could be better since Anna Salai is very crowded and congested road. I had a bad experience with service, especially the F&B team. The gym is okay but way under equipped vs other 5 stars hotel nearby. The Spa is super expensive and doesn’t even have steam or sauna… Breakfast and lunch / diner buffet are average, not many choices.From€78

As always everything was good from the beginning... the check in till check out. The breakfast which wasn't quite the usual during our last stay there were totally opposite this time... understood there was a face-lift refurbishment work carried out at the restaurant the last time and as such it was excuseable..This time around the hotel had exceeded our expectation for both the service standard and eloborate buffet breakfast readied for the guests. We would like to thank all the restaurant staff in particular the restaurant manager SK Allarakha for making every morning as a start of a pleasant day with all the courteous services extended to us by him and his lovely team..This has prompted my family to celebrate my 60th birthday in the morning of 16/1/2026 before their departure for flight.Thank you for a great and courteous service shown to my family and i.We will definitely choose to stay at the TRT again the next time around. A decent property well placed in city.
The check-in process was not convenient and staff was bit untrained or already exhausted, 11am in morning.
Rooms are decent, with cleaning challenges, as we found a cigarette butt and hairs in washroom from previous guests.
B/fast was sumptuous and tasty.
Staff was bit handy, but the GM of hotel is really friendly and active. He took feedback with grace and helped.
Overall didn't feel like a 5 star experience, but certainly a good place to stay for a stop.From€39

Breakfast is rich in taste and variety. Facilities are kept clean. The face towel is soft and fluffy, but the bath towel is hard and thin and smells like the kitchen. Is it because I wash it with various things? Considering the room size, staff friendliness, and breakfast, this hotel is more affordable than the price.From€81

I spent a night in this Hotel while in a business trip in Chennai.
Honestly speaking, i was positively surprised.
The staff was professional and helpful.
The room was top notch, well maintained with plenty of options and amenities.
The food choice was also great; i tried the Kebab factory restaurant and it was one of the best meal i had in my trip.
The hotel is also conveniently located near the airport and they provide a complimentary shuttle to the airport.
Great Price / Quality ratio.
