Jetwing Lighthouse, part of the Heritage Hotels collection, was designed by the late, renowned Sri Lankan architect and 'father of Asian architecture,' Geoffrey Bawa. The anti-colonial sculpture in the atrium is quite striking. This time, I stayed in the hotel's largest 114-square-meter themed suite, which features several styles including Chinese, European, Arabian, and Ceylonese. The breakfast staff seemed a bit slow to respond, a stark contrast to the excellent dinner service we received the night before at the Western restaurant. While there appeared to be a large selection for breakfast, nothing was particularly delicious. It's very close to Galle Fort, and for the same price, staying in a suite here offers a much better experience than an entry-level room at the Amangalla within the fort.

The stay in the hotel was absolutely fantastic. The hotel layout is just beautiful with the open architecture and view of the Galle fortress. The rooms we had were very spacious even for suites. Lovely bathroom, living area, garden, lots of places to rest. We did not use the pool but it looked nice. The hotel is a short distance from the fort so you can walk there and enjoy it while being away from the business. The beds were comfortable and you only hear the ocean, not the street noise. I would give 6 stars if possible.

Very bad attitude! The water and electricity were cut off for two hours, and no one dealt with it. I complained to Ctrip, but they replied that it was a power outage in the entire area. How did other guests stay there? Not sincere at all! In addition, there were three rooms that were not in the hotel, but 200 meters away from the hotel. There was no mention or reminder on the booking interface. Ctrip was also at fault. Who would stay in a place 200 meters away with no service? This is a hotel, not Airbnb.

I really like this one. The mansion of the legendary Dutch navy general has only a dozen rooms. There is no noisy feeling in other hotels and it is very quiet. They are all flat, with a large courtyard in the middle, which is very comfortable. Each room is extremely large and decorated with a sense of history. The beds are oversized and estimated to be 2.2 meters. The dining was good and the waiters were polite. I just met them for Chinese New Year, and in the evening I greeted everyone to go to the yard to set off fireworks.

Double room with 2 beds on the ground floor, rather dark, unfortunately full of cracks and therefore full of mosquitoes, air conditioning somewhat unreliable, mosquito nets for both beds more like a cloth coffin feeling... No kettle, room rather cramped, cleanliness okay, shower with good water pressure and warm, breakfast plentiful and delicious (coffee/tea, juice, a plate full of fruit, fried egg or omelette with sausages, toast with jam all you can eat, really absolutely delicious!

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by wonderfully friendly staff at the reception desk, and our positive impression continued when we saw our room. It was incredibly spacious and spotlessly clean and a perfect space to relax in. Unfortunately, our enthusiasm dipped when we looked out the window. We had eagerly anticipated the sea view we booked, but found ourselves on the first floor looking directly onto the main path to the restaurant. The lack of both a view and privacy was a real disappointment. The challenges were compounded by a local festival taking place during our stay. This rendered the beach unusable due to the sheer volume of people. Worse, the road closures made leaving the hotel a logistical headache, leaving us feeling a bit trapped. A final frustration was discovering there were no shops nearby and no convenience store in the hotel itself, so be sure to pack everything you might need. In summary, while we can't fault the hotel on its cleanliness or the friendliness of its staff, the experience was significantly hampered by the room mix-up and the festival chaos. It wasn’t a bad stay, but it was far from the relaxing getaway we had planned.

This is the best hotel in all Sri Lanka!!! Kitchen, service, privacy, location - all on the height! In the hotel only 30 rooms, people are not, even with full load, you are as if you are alone! Pleasant uncrowded beaches with a pleasant ocean. You can walk on the shore on duty. The hotel feeds on the menu, each dish is an art piece. Butler is doing whatever you wish. We had a truly wonderful stay at Heritance Ahungalla, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish. The check-in process was smooth and welcoming, and the fresh juices served upon arrival were very refreshing after the journey. The room was spotlessly clean, tidy, spacious, and well equipped with all the luxury amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The atmosphere throughout the resort had a relaxing beachside vibe, which made the stay even more enjoyable. We also used the gym, which was properly equipped with a good range of equipment. The resort has two swimming pools, and we spent most of our time at the main pool, which was absolutely massive and perfect for relaxing. The highlight of the stay was definitely the food experience. The dinner buffet was exceptional with an incredible variety of dishes. There were large selections of salads, appetizers, breads and buns, Sri Lankan specialties, international cuisine, and live cooking stations. The seafood and meat variety was especially impressive — including chicken, beef, pork, cuttlefish, prawns, fish, and many other seafood dishes, with multiple preparations for each. My personal favorite was the pork leg, which was incredibly delicious, tender, and flavorful. The dessert corner was huge, offering plenty of choices and beautifully presented sweets. After a very comfortable night’s sleep, we went for breakfast, and honestly, it was just as impressive as dinner. The breakfast buffet included a massive spread with salad stations, bakery items, fresh fruits, Sri Lankan and international breakfast options, live stations, and an amazing juice bar with around 7–8 varieties of fresh juices. They also had a dedicated cheese section, multiple yogurt options, and even 4–5 types of porridges, which was something unique and very well done. Overall, Heritance Ahungalla offers a fantastic combination of luxury, comfort, delicious food, and relaxing coastal ambience. Everything from the service to the dining and facilities was excellent. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable beach getaway in Sri Lanka! 🌴✨

Номер большой, немного подубитый, но в целом неплохо. администратор Люк Оперативно решал бытовые вопросы (не было горячей воды / не работал холодильник, но все быстро решилось). Есть красивый бассейн и лежаки. Рядом пару продуктовых магазинов и пару местных кафе с едой. Фрукты дорогие , лучше ехать подальше за ними. Фонари по дороге не горят. Отель закрывают на ночь в 22:00, наверное , это правильно в целях безопасности. Отель рекомендую.

The last stop of this Sri Lanka trip was full of praise! Originally because of the mistake of Trip.com , I missed the pool room type. After I found out, I was very anxious. The hotel manager was very patient and actively helped to communicate and coordinate after learning about the situation. Finally, the problem was properly solved and let us stay smoothly. More heartwarming, the hotel also gave an extra breakfast and dinner for the third person, the service was warm and intimate, and the details were full. A decent hotel with a good beach and responsive staff. A beautiful view from the room (if you take the ocean view). From the downsides - the road passes right behind the hotel. Although the hotel and the beach are fenced, the noise is heard, especially lying on the beach ... interrupts even the noise of the slot. But this is a problem as I understand the whole south-west coast.. On the day of departure was early check-out, staff had prepared breakfast. and gave it with them.

Very pleasantly surprised, like a small hotel hidden in the jungle. There is a welcome drink at check-in. The room has the fragrance of lemon grass. The toiletries are also lemon grass. Living in a quiet hotel in the jungle is worth choosing. There is no smell. The staff is also very friendly and smiles. The balcony has a shelf for drying clothes, the pool is very clean, the moon is especially beautiful at night, and you can see the wild monkeys outside in the evening. Don't feed the wild wild. Breakfast semi-buffet can choose one, fruit plate and juice are fresh, it is recommended to order the specialties here, coconut cake and curry chicken, delicious 😋, taxi can be a sudden, it is better to come to the hotel, after all, on the top of the mountain. I rarely comment on the hotel, unless I really feel good 👍

We had eagerly anticipated the sea view we booked, but found ourselves on the first floor looking directly onto the main path to the restaurant. The lack of both a view and privacy was a real disappointment. The challenges were compounded by a local festival taking place during our stay. This rendered the beach unusable due to the sheer volume of people. Worse, the road closures made leaving the hotel a logistical headache, leaving us feeling a bit trapped. A final frustration was discovering there were no shops nearby and no convenience store in the hotel itself, so be sure to pack everything you might need. In summary, while we can't fault the hotel on its cleanliness or the friendliness of its staff, the experience was significantly hampered by the room mix-up and the festival chaos. It wasn’t a bad stay, but it was far from the relaxing getaway we had planned.

Overall, we liked the hotel. Located in the small CoCobay Bay. Around the silence, only disrupted by the noise of waves, constantly rolling on the shore. The hotel is small - only 16 rooms, so the situation is chamber, almost family. Guests have a measured pace of rest - breakfast, beach, afternoon rest and beach again. In the evening dinner on the menu. And if breakfast in the hotel is modest and uniform, the kitchen is able to surprise at dinner. The main dish is distinct from a beautiful feed and always delicious. And the menu every day is new. The rooms are large, all with ocean view. The air conditioner works well. You get tired of the sun even in the shadow, so you enjoy the room at noon. Hotel is mainly for family couples and families with children. Some parents pay for children's surfing lessons here because compared to other beaches here, the soft wave is not deep. The surfing board can be rented here at the hotel. Another plus hotel - there are no sellers of all kinds. The lying vacationers are closely monitored. You can leave a phone in the bag and go swimming, and go back to the Internet, lying on a cheeslong There is a minus that is not noticed - a river falls in the ocean next to the hotel and after the rain it carries brown water in it. So clean and transparent water you will not see here. And here on the main beach in Unawatun water is just a pleasant blue-turquoise color. Maybe in the dry season the water in CoCoBay Bay looks different, but we were in October and rains went here every day.

The anti-colonial sculpture in the atrium is quite striking. This time, I stayed in the hotel's largest 114-square-meter themed suite, which features several styles including Chinese, European, Arabian, and Ceylonese. The breakfast staff seemed a bit slow to respond, a stark contrast to the excellent dinner service we received the night before at the Western restaurant. While there appeared to be a large selection for breakfast, nothing was particularly delicious. It's very close to Galle Fort, and for the same price, staying in a suite here offers a much better experience than an entry-level room at the Amangalla within the fort.
