The hotel is located on the main road of Bologna, across the road from the Cathedral. On the day of the check-in, a grand religious celebration is held, as it is close to the road and you can walk through the road to feel. The room is large, especially the bathroom, and it is no exaggeration to say that you can dance inside. There is an emergency alarm rope near the toilet and the shower. I have pulled two times in the unknown. I have to call the security immediately and need no assistance. It is quite professional and safe. The bathroom accessories are famous Italian brands, the quality is very good, they are brought back to China after they have not been used up, especially like it. The breakfast room was slightly crowded and the dishes were average, but there were even porridge dishes. Later, I learned that there were Japanese monks and local religious groups to hold a friendly relationship and cooperation ceremony during the stay. It was very interesting to walk from the hotel. The restaurant waiter also asked us about Chinese tastes and Chinese cuisine. Although the English communication between the two sides could not convey the essence of Chinese food, they communicated clearly with the help of the body language and imagination. The breakfast was really good. A cultural exchange platform, the restaurant waiter is also very friendly. In general, although it is not the best hotel in Italy, it is also a great place to experience.

This hotel in Bologna has no place to pick, with twin towers (6-8 minutes walk) and squares. Hotel facilities in general, the hotel itself is an old building, the decoration is a bit old, the style is definitely classical European, Ctrip score 4.8, I personally feel a little far-fetched, but I stayed for one night, and did not have the opportunity to experience the surrounding hotels, no way to detail To compare the situation. Talk about the details of the room I live in: the hotel is generally sanitary, the bedside wall curtain is a lot of dust, it seems that it has not been removed for cleaning for a long time. The quilt cover is rough and uncomfortable. The room layout I booked is OK, it is relatively large, with a living room. The front desk clerk gave a tip of ten euros and would be enthusiastic. The hotel only accepts WeChat and Alipay businesses. The hotel key is going to be stored at the front desk. When you return to the hotel, you will call the front desk clerk and give it to you (the form is special). Let me rate it and evaluate 4.6.

Very close to the Twin Towers and the main campus of Bologna, a very small hotel. Very clean and the room is not small. After staying, I went out for a lap and came back with a welcome fruit. The breakfast was underground, slightly darker, but it was also cleverly designed according to local conditions. Looking out the window of the room, you can see the corner of the twin towers. It is very quiet at night and sleeps very well. The front desk staff is very handsome and uncle, the whole hotel style is very artistic, and overall it is still very good stay experience.

The best four-star hotel in Bologna, quiet in the middle of nowhere, very close to the place, very new decoration, very artistic atmosphere.

Visited during Labour Day celebrations and, despite the hotel's proximity to the central square, noise was minimal. The art/artifacts on display are everywhere and tastefully done - there is so much to see! The breakfast room was spotless and abundant, and my morning cappuccino was a special treat. The reception staff couldn't have been more professional: Cinzia, in particular, was a true godsend. When my husband lost his phone in the cab to the train station, she was instrumental in tracking down the cab company and couriering it to us at our new hotel in Milan. Would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Superb. Superb. Superb! Right in the heart of Bologna this fantastic hotel exceeded our expectations. We were fortunate to be put in the tower (not beheaded!). The quality of the room was outstanding and we could have stayed a week very easily. Comfy bed - though could do with some more softer plumpy pillows 😉. Fabulous electrics that operated the blinds and the lighting very effectively. Wonderfully welcoming, helpful and friendly staff who went out of their way to help with taxis etc. great breakfast. Thoroughly recommend. Stay here!

The room design in this hotel is particularly strange. First of all, as soon as I entered room 236 and found that there was a door next to the toilet, it could not be locked. I asked the waiter what the room was for? The waiter didn't say anything, he said it was locked, so don't worry. Is this weird? Why is there another door in the room? Then I went to see the floor plan of the whole floor. In addition to 236, there were similar situations in several rooms such as 222, 237, and 238. The walls and corridors outside the room are decorated with oil paintings and mirrors, which are also very strange. Every large mirror or large oil painting feels like it can be opened. There is a door-like hinge on one side of the frame . For example, outside the walls of the corridors 236 and 222, there are large mirrors or oil paintings.

It takes about 15 minutes to walk from the hotel to Maggiore Square, but it takes five or six minutes to walk to the train station. The room was very large, the hotel's welcome fruit plate was the most sincere I had ever met, the quality was very high, I liked it very much. This is the city of food, but the temporary reservation of the restaurant is not easy. After one night was rejected by several restaurants, I found that the hotel's own restaurant was also great and solved the dinner perfectly. The hotel's garden is also very beautiful, and a cup of coffee in the afternoon is very pleasant. In short, I think this hotel is actually far more than many five-star hotels, which is very recommended.

We had a one, and final, night stay in Bologna after a 3 week vacation in Italy. The location was superb. Lots of dining, shopping and sites minutes from the front door. Our family of 4 stayed in the annex apartment, which is actually connected to the hotel, you just enter through a side entrance. There is no elevator, but we only had one flight of stairs. The unit was a great size for 4 of us. 2 kids got their own beds, and mom and dad got a comfy large queen size bed, with a separating wall for a little privacy. There was a large dining table, and a closet/wall kitchen where you could actually cook and they had waters and cokes and coffee/tea amenities for you to use. The bathroom was large, with a great hairdryer. The receptionists, both when we checked in and out were wonderful. So helpful in getting us a very early taxi for departure, and recommending restaurants for the bride time we were there. Bologna is a larger city, and we were very impressed during our short stay. I would spend more time there in a future trip!

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights recently and were so pleased with our choice. The hotel is extremely well located within walking distance of many restaurants, bars and sights. Reception staff were all very helpful and friendly and the hotel itself is well managed, clean and operates well. My only comment would be that the bathrooms are not ventilated so the aircon doesn't circulate here and therefor they get very hot and steamy. It would be good to be able to keep the bathroom door open (it self closes) in order to get some air into the space.

The Starhotel Excelsior is located directly across the street from the central train station, thus is very convenient for those arriving to Bologna by rail. It is also very easy to come in by car without having to battle the traffic of central Bologna and parking is very easy. The hotel is a 15 minute walk to the central square. The walk is pleasant day or night on streets lined with shops and restaurants. The area around central station is lively at any time and feels reasonably safe. The hotel itself is quite modern. Rooms are large and quiet despite its proximity to the bustle of the train station. The quality of the rooms and service is extremely good for the price.

This is an excellent hotel: businesslike, sleek look and our room was spacious and neat. The check-in was very friendly (although a bit on the slow side), and the breakfast buffet was -certainly by Italian standards- very extensive and of excellent quality. The location of the hotel is good too, especially for train travelers, as it is right opposite the station. There were some unsavory people hanging around in the area between the station and the hotel entrance in the evening, but that didn't bother us. The hotel is not too far from the city centre either. We will definitely come back here if we ever visit Bologna again!

The hotel staff were very friendly and professional. I was offered to change a room for one of the higher levels when I arrived after paying the difference of the price, and I agreed with pleasure. The room was very beautiful. The only sin, not negligible given the level of the room, was the finding of a long black hair (not clearly of my property since I am shaved nor of the other person host) in the bedroom of the mattress and a cup of coffee used by the previous guest on the terrace balaustral.

Had a lovely stay, wish it was for more than 1 night! We were upgraded to a deluxe room, it was spacious and the bed was huge and so comfy - it was amazing! Located a couple of mins walk from the station and a short 15 minute walk to the historic centre. Left our luggage while we went out to explore too. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend!

Hotel is outside of city center. Took 10-15 min by buss. Bussstop is 5min from hotel. Airport is 15min away by taxi. Paid 21eur. Depends on direction, room has a nice view of whole Bologna. Bed is large and comfy. Bathroom as well. Provided free water bottle. Free WiFi worked well. Beside hotel there is a big supermarket and good local pizzeria in front of supermarket. strongly recommend. Staff were helpful. Just one minus was all USB connector were out of order. Other el connector worked well. Totally very satisfied and want to be back.

On first approach, it was clear to see that this hotel is quite far out from the city centre however explains why the prices are a lot cheaper. My partner and I stayed here in July 2022 for 4 nights and I must admit, we loved the room and overall feel of the hotel. Rooms were very clean and beds were very comfortable. We slept amazingly!! If it was just based on rooms alone, we would give this hotel five stars. However… We booked this hotel mainly because it had a pool. When we asked about the pool, we were informed we needed to book a 1 hour slot if we wanted to use it during that day. This was due to covid measures which were still in place at the hotel. So we did. Booked a 1 hour slot for the pool the following evening. When we arrived at the pool on the lower level, we noticed that the changing rooms were locked and the showers were turned off…due to Covid. Now I would typically understand some reasoning for certain covid rules but this just seemed ridiculous. A couple who were using the pool in the hour slot before us informed us to use the small shower cubicle to get changed as this had a frosted glass door on it and is the only bit of privacy you get down there. So we did! We ended up booking the pool out another two times on our stay but as reception advised following our first pool visit, get changed in your rooms then head down to the pool (assuming you don’t need to get the key from reception to unlock the pool). Towels were provided by poolside although on the first day, there was only one towel left for the two of us. On my final visit to the pool on the morning before we left, I had to go to reception in my swimming trunks because the pool was locked. Something I felt uncomfortable doing in the first place but as there was no changing facilities and the towels were locked by poolside, I reluctantly went to reception where the man behind the desk got angry at me being there in my swimming trunks. Simple solution would be to open up the changing facilities down by poolside to prevent this but hey, that was too obvious. Upon pointing out the fact that the changing facilities in his hotel were locked because they won’t open them due to Covid (which he should have known), he eventually calmed down and mentioned he understood. On our visit we also used the electric bikes which were at reception for a full day at the cost of €25 per bike per day. The system is far to complicated for what it needs to be and should be made simpler by just having reception deal with the booking. Once eventually booked, we were given the keys to the 2 bike locks, helmets and some netting for our hair (another odd covid measure which doesn’t make much sense as you will sweat through the netting anyway). As I was away to take the bikes out, I noticed that all four tyres were flat. Surely this should be inspected by the staff before the bikes are taken out?! Unfortunately staff appeared clueless on what PSI the tires had to be at and as he pumped up the first

A very nice hotel with good amenities. Very friendly staff. The breakfast was decent. Bring a hairdryer as the hairdryer supplied is ok for short hair, but not great for long hair. There was only 2 plug sockets in the room and one in the bathroom. This makes charging modern day phones, watches and other equipment very difficult. Especially if one of the plugs is located behind a cupboard. The kettle was balanced on the air con unit which isn’t ideal. A shelf would be a good idea. There aren’t any draws to put away underwear or tee shirts so be prepared to live from your case, however there is a clothes rail. The beds are made everyday and fresh towels if required. We used the spa which was lovely, although the pool probably was a clean. We will definitely return as the location is excellent, about 8 minute walk to the station.

On our round trip through northern Italy, we stopped in Bologna from 24.7.-25.7.22. We had booked a Classic double room at UNAHotels Bologna Centro via an online platform. Likewise, we already know UNAHotels from previous stays in other cities. The hotel is located outside the old town. It's a comfortable 20-minute walk. Unfortunately, the check-in did not work smoothly. The room was not ready at 13.15. The reception could not even check us in. They could only do that when the room was ready. I have never experienced anything like this and it has never happened in any other UNA hotel. Fortunately, we were able to drop off the luggage. A garage is also an advantage in Bologna. The reservation worked without a problem here, cost 22 euros per night. The room was very good. Size, comfort and cleanliness were perfect. The bathroom is also good. Everything necessary is available. Modern furnishings. Our request for a room on the upper floors was met. Wifi is good. The breakfast has everything you could want. Despite the discrepancies at check in, we can recommend the UNAHotels Bologna Centro.

The hotel is a good structure, even better than other “three stars”. Very comfortable private parking of the building: it is true that the hotel is a bit away from the centre of Bologna so you need a means to get there, but who visits Bologna knows that to find parking in a more central hotel, It is almost impossible. I had problems (and I was not the only one) with personalizing the entry card. The numbers of the rooms were exchanged and more than one found with a key that did not open or belonged to another room. Overall a good stay even if the prices here as elsewhere, in the weekend of the fairs levied in an unintended way

It's a great choice at this price, as it has everything, and the service staff are very friendly. The bed and quilt are very comfortable! There are blackout curtains, I slept well. The location is also good, you can take two buses to the airport, not far to the city, and the bus stop is very close. Next to the hotel is a McDonald's that opens late at night and early in the morning, which is very convenient. The fly in the ointment is that the ”cleaned” sticker on my toilet has been torn. I don't know if the staff has cleaned it but forgot to replace it with a new sticker? I feel a little uneasy. Another point is that the minibar is not priced. In addition to these two points, I am very satisfied with this stay, and I will choose this one if I have the opportunity.

Booked this hotel as it is close to the train station Bologna Centrale and the city centre. The location is therefore good and set in an interesting mixed area with cheap cafes and bars nearby. There is also a large supermarket close by. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfast is fairly basic considering the price you are paying for the hotel. It appears that this is mainly a hotel for business clients. However the main drawback is that there is no heating in this hotel as the A/C was switched off centrally, despite the temperature in Bologna going down to 5C at night when I was there. It is therefore cold at night in the room.

Great location with great staff. The bell tolls every so often, but it is no bother. Shower is a tad bit tiny but bathroom is big. Lift is available but some rooms on level 2 has a few steps to conquer - do request a room that does not tackle this if you cannot lift your luggage for these few steps. One key per room, but key can be left at reception. We had 4 rooms all up and they mananged to get us all on same floor & close by, as per our request. Again, all the staff are great. Nice modern hotel, in the middle of the old town half a block off of Via dell'Indipendenza..so you are close to everything. As it’s a modern hotel, it has all the appointments with a good size desk, plenty of outlets, comfortable bed, large bathroom etc. Yes the plastic furniture is a bit much, and some is not really functional, but its still a great room, location, and service. Our room was very large with a balcony. Bed was comfortable, service was superb, and wifi was fine. I had a big birthday while I was there and my sons called the hotel from the US to arrange for a birthday cake and note to be delivered to our room. We got back to our room before dinner and there was this lovely decorated cake, display, note, big candle etc. The hotel did a great job and clearly went out of their way to make this happen. BRAVO! There was no parking at the hotel, but there is a garage just around the block that they have an arrangement with. Just reserve ahead with the hotel. The photos on the hotel website are indicative of the rooms and hotel A couple suggestions to those staying at the hotel: 1. dropping off your luggage - - the street the hotel is on is a very narrow street blocked at one end where you would walk on to Via dell'Indipendenza. In driving to the hotel to drop our bags off google maps had me turning right on to their street, Via dell’ Orso, from Viccola Quartirolo…do not do that. you are not supposed to drive there, plus its a one way (left only) and its very hard to make the right turn anyway given the narrow street and restaurant on the corner. The restaurant people told us to back up back on to Viccola Quartirolo…. Then make a left and then back up down the street to the hotel. When it was time to leave, we rolled our bags down to where the restaurant was and then I went and got the car and stopped right there when I made the left turn . 2. room darkening - the first night at the hotel I did not see any shades to stop the light coming in from the balcony. The next morning I realized there were shutter doors to close on the balacony …which I did not notice at night. Overall, between the location, service, and accommodations, I would highly recommend staying at the hotel.
