Hotel Description
Core of this house goes back to 1898 although updated in the forties and has recent new bathrooms. Two of the rooms are attic rooms while the third faces the garden and the fourth the street. Guests report their best sleep - especially in the attic although we "blame" it on the comfy beds and the wood core spirit in this house. Kitchen is full equipped but simple and basic. Big dining table in the Livingroom and not to cluttered with furniture.About pets:No pets allowed.About checkOut:Check out before 11:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.About checkIn:Check in after 4:00 PM.About smoking:Smoking is not permitted.About minBookingAge:Minimum age to rent: 30.About events:Events allowed: family gatherings and birthday parties.Maximum event attendees: 10,There is another apartment below you..

Location was super B, though the entrance might be a bit hard to find. Bonus was straight opposite and lots of souvenir shops, tourist spots, tour pick up spots, restaurants are within walking distance. The dryer was at fault at the first night. After we chat with the service provider, it was fixed the day after when we return from our tour. Washing powder was provided too. Everything is in high quality. Fabulous stay!

It is recommended, because I live with friends, so the space is enough. The location is excellent, the door is the supermarket, too convenient, affordable, very recommended

The owner was very helpful when the airport luggage was lost. I was allowed my room early so I could start my process and then offered to add his number incase luggage would be delivered when I was away or asleep
- Guest User
The location is OK, there are several good restaurants nearby, but the overall environment is worse, probably because the building is old. The heating is not very good and the room is very cold. There is no elevator and you need to carry your suitcase upstairs. In short, I don't think it's worth the price of 90 pounds a night.

Reviews From Real Travelers
The service is very good. The location of the hotel is very convenient. You can take the bus from the airport to the terminal and walk directly there. No problem. We are a very good hotel in summer. When you get to the bus terminal, you don’t have to enter the reception hall. Just go through the flowers and grass on the path. Of course, you can take your luggage with you. Don't press on the flowers and plants. Just a reminder. When you see a pedestrian road, cross the highway. Go directly. Don't go on the overpass. If you keep walking across it, you can see the youth hostel. It is right next to the University of Iceland sign. Handsome guy serves. The staff was great and they let us check in in advance. The female manager was also very nice. There is a very beautiful lobby and a large kitchen and restaurant in the building where we live. We were very happy living there and often cooked our own meals. Friends from all over the world are very good. Except for a young ********* couple, I remind all Chinese people to be smart when going out. Prices in Iceland are very expensive, but when you go to other people’s restaurants, you must not order a drink for only a few people. , or a meal, if you think it’s too expensive or just want to check in, just send one person in. Don’t let the Chinese face fall in when you go out. Many ********* Internet celebrities let people bring rice and doll noodles. In fact, the Icelandic pig Supermarkets have everything and are not too expensive. Iceland is a region with a shortage of supplies. Due to geographical reasons, they don’t have much time to do business, so everyone takes up other people’s resources in the summer, but only a few people can consume one meal. It’s a bit Excessive. I also participated in a one-day tour and felt that the tour guide was very professional. Please also tip the driver and tour guide, about 10 US dollars. It is not a matter of money, it is an affirmation of their professionalism. Others will be very happy, but this time When I tipped the tour guide in Iceland, he was very surprised. He said he had never seen a Chinese tip him. I said no, we Hong Kong people always tip when we see good service. Maybe young Chinese nowadays, I no longer have the heart to appreciate others' services. The tour guides in Iceland are very professional. Some of them are university teachers. They promote Iceland in the summer, so they come out to lead tours. But as he said, except for some Westerners and us, there was no one in the car. A few mainland girls paid extra tips, and the tour guide stopped at the small church where they checked in and took special care of them along the way. So if you go to other countries, you feel that the people there don't look good on you. Examine yourself, just like us Hong Kongers and ********* people who laugh at mainland tourists who go to Hong Kong and Taiwan to bring their own instant noodles instead of buying them. The situation is the same. In Hong Kong and Taiwan, consumption is expensive, and mainland tourists think it is not worth it. If you laugh at others, go to Iceland and bring your own instant noodles. Rice noodles instant noodles, then you have no right to laugh at the mainland customers

The apartment is right next to the University of Iceland and is the best international youth travel I have ever lived in. Convenient transportation. It is also convenient to go to the city center. The room is not WIFI. You can use WIFI for free at the reception desk in the lobby. There is a trash can in the room. The garbage is full and you have to ask the front desk to help. The service is very good. They are all young people and good communication. If you want to travel in Iceland for a week, it is recommended to book at one time, and it is more troublesome to change the hotel halfway. The room has a pole for drying clothes, which is convenient. After booking, pay attention to whether you have a private bathroom and toilet. Private toilet and bath are not a concept here. I was misled by the information when I booked. It is recommended to stay in a private bathroom.

The hotel is located 2 minutes walk from the subway. Very convenient. Old historic house. It feels good to live. Strolling through the streets of the old city is convenient. No. 38 is well-recognized. The clerk will repeat the security matters when checking in. Specially like the convenience store near the subway exit. Various clean dishes properly meet my stomach.

A once-in-a-lifetime trip made more meaningful and charming by world-leading staff and service. We messaged ahead and told them that we were on our honeymoon. Iceland is a unique place on Earth, but almost as surprising as the geology, geography and weather was just how remarkable and excellent this hotel was. Its location was outstanding right in the old city centre and an easy walk to boat trips (for organised bus trips, which all use the same bus stop numbering, the nearest bus stop is number 5, about 5 minutes’ walk away), the breakfast was splendid and the room was unbelievably cosy, which was particularly welcome after a winter’s day adventuring amongst the ice and snow and especially the epic and cold wind. This once-in-a-lifetime trip was made extraordinarily special by the outstanding and attentive staff who really impressed with their thoughtfulness and commitment to excellence throughout. We cannot thank the whole team enough, both everyone we met as well as everyone who worked behind the scenes, for delivering a world-leading stay. We felt exceptionally lucky to have chosen this hotel, and so delighted that we did!

My stay at the Hilton Reykjavik Nordica was, overall, very satisfying. The hotel itself is spacious and comfortable, with a clean and modern design that perfectly captures the fresh Scandinavian aesthetic, while also offering the refinement and convenience expected of a high-quality accommodation. The front desk staff were excellent; check-in and check-out were efficient, and communication was smooth, making them feel both professional and attentive. My room was spotless and quite spacious, with a comfortable bed that ensured a great night's sleep. The attention to cleanliness details made me feel very secure and at ease. The hotel breakfast is also commendable, with a wide variety of fresh options that perfectly met my dining needs during the trip. While not in the absolute city center, the location is still convenient for getting around, and the quiet surroundings are ideal for a good rest. The hotel's facilities are comprehensive, providing a consistent and reliable stay. Whether for a business trip or a leisure vacation, you'll experience excellent service and quality here. All in all, this hotel offers a great combination of comfort, service, and brand assurance. My entire stay was pleasant and effortless, making it a highly recommended and quality accommodation option when visiting Reykjavik.

I stayed at two hotels in Lei City, and this one had a great location, excellent room facilities, and a fantastic breakfast. They also have beautiful public areas, and all the staff were very friendly. The restaurant staff, in particular, were professional and welcoming, clearing plates promptly. The breakfast quality was high. The only downside was that the curtains didn't fully block out the light.

The only bad thing about this place is that I was only able to stay here 1 night … I had an amazing experience, the room Was very spacious and beautiful, great location, but most of all the customers service was over the top ,the young lady at the front desk, Yvette was phenomenal, she went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of, made reservations , and gave me great suggestions and recommendations to where to go to eat .. Please consider stay at this place next time you are in Reykjavik, you will not regret it !!!!

I loved this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it! One of the outstanding features is that they give you a cell phone to use during your stay. The phone already has helpful apps installed for taxis, restaurants, etc. We are from the US so did not have international cell service so having this phone with us was helpful, especially for using maps. Reykjavik is a walkable city, and the hotel is located on the most popular street, so it has easy access to everything. The staff was very helpful and there is also a bar/restaurant onsite with amazing cocktails. There is an included breakfast buffet which featured hot and cold items. We had a room on the 4th floor that included access to large patio. We loved this feature as we could wake up and go outside to check the weather and enjoy the views of the mountains and water in the distance. The hotel was also extremely clean. Another nice touch was that they knew we were celebrating our wedding anniversary so when we entered our room, we found a bottle of wine, chocolate and romantic decorations!

Foss hotel Reykjavik is a great place, conveniently located next to Bus stop 12 where all the tour operators pick up and drop off as well as Fly bus tdrop off and pick up. The hotel is very clean and safe. I have a fantastic experience with the staff in front desk and house keeping. I was a solo traveller and I asked guidance to the front desk on some places that i wanted to go within and near Reykjavik. Tge front desk staff, he gave me suggestions and helped me book the show ticket. He gave me clear instructions and seeing my lost look , even gave me the hootel phone numbers to call him in case I run into trouble. But thanks to his clear guidance I managed to navigate well and had a great day out. This hotel is about 15 to 20mrs from city centre by walk. One day I forgot my gold chain in the room. But the housekeeping folks while cleaning did not even touch any valuable stuff that i left. It is really a very reliable and safe hotel. They have a restaurant that serves delicioys food. I ate their fish and chips and chicken salad. Both were great. The breakfast has a good spread. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The best part is still the excellent service from the staff. My trip got rebooked and i had multiple correspondence with the staff and they were always prompt and reassuring. The only downside of the whole stay was my room. I got a corner room which had a slanted corner shape, meaning a triangle cut off from a rectangle. Though nicely laid out, i felt claustrophobic as the room size was much smaller. That room is not ideal, especially if not solo.

The location is super convenient for city walks to Rainbow Street, the church, and supermarkets. The room was clean and tidy, perfect for cooking as it had basic supplies like oil and black pepper, plus a dishwasher. The front desk service was also very enthusiastic! Hotel is just next to Reykjavik domestic airport. For people catching domestic flights, it would be a perfect location. It is about 45 mins drive to KEF. When we were there roads going to KEF were closed due to weather Yellow alert. Many people were in the queue to check in because many flights were cancelled due to weather. The staff were able to help people in the queue and checked us in in about 30 minute's wait. Very excellent front desk staff. Room is a bit small, and lack of lights at the bed head. Overall it is still a comfortable stay. One of the lights was not working, but we did not inform housekeeping, as hotel was full house, and didn't want them to have more burden.

We started our travel to Iceland by driving around Iceland in a campervan, so we were hoping for a relaxing hotel stay in Reykjavik at the end of the trip when we pre-booked. We were not disappointed by the Eyja Guldsmeden. The location was only a few blocks away from downtown where there were tons of shopping and dining options, and the hotel itself was beautiful. In the lobby, we grabbed (included) coffee in the mornings and a reasonably-priced drink for happy hour. The service at the front desk was friendly and cordial. The room itself had a nice view of the mountains and was warm and cozy. It was a great stay and we would definitely go back to this hotel again if we are ever back in Iceland! Our only difficulty, understanding this is mostly outside of the hotel's control, is that some of the sidewalks on the walk to downtown were extremely icy and slippery after a day or so of wintry mix that froze over. We had to be extremely careful making our way down to Laugavegur, which had much safer sidewalks. There were even a few buses and cars that couldn't make their way up or down the icy, hilly streets and had to work their way around. So if you are going in the Winter, be cautious and walk slowly!

I had a fantastic stay at Bus Hostel Reykjavik! The atmosphere was welcoming, but what truly stood out was the incredible staff. They were consistently friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make my trip easy. A huge highlight was their flexibility with my travel schedule. Even though I checked out at 10:00 AM, they graciously allowed me to hang out in the common areas until my 6:30 PM flight. This made my final day in Iceland stress-free and much more comfortable. Highly recommended for any traveler looking for great service and a hospitable vibe!
