This hotel was suggested to while a family member was critically ill in a nearby hospital and we had been advised not to go too far away. Having never heard of it and the very reasonable price we werent sure what to expect, but what we found surpassed all expectations. For a hotel so close to the city centre it is incredibly quiet, lots of parking, spotlessly clean and the added bonus of air con in all rooms. Loads of towels in the room, beds are comfy. Rooms are compact but have all you need, free WiFi (and a decent speed). It has a lovely relaxed vibe, a real haven of calm that during a very difficult time, was a real comfort to us. We have since returned twice more; once with our children where we were provided with rooms that were next to each other, and this is now our third visit. We've also stopped in to have a drink with family who were guests while we were staying elsewhere and it was the same friendly welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely, friendly staff, the evening menu is simple but very much does the trick if you need something comforting and don't want to go out or eat takeaway in your room. My children loved padding down in their PJs to get a hot chocolate and we didn't miss a kettle in our room at all. Breakfast has something to suit everyone, with lots of choice. Have already recommended to friends and family and will continue to do so.

This is a great hotel for a short city break for visiting Manchester and the surrounding area. They have free onsite parking which is difficult/impossible to find with hotels nearer to the city centre. Check-in was easy, quick and friendly and our room was plenty big enough for a short stay and was very comfortable. The hotel (reception, restaurant, rooms, corridors ...even the toiltes near reception) looks very smart and is immaculately clean and tidy. We were impressed by the included breakfast - it's nothing fancy or out of the ordinary but was done very well - we liked the decor in the restaurant area, which is semi-open plan to the reception and the restaurant had a nice buzz in the morning. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk to the Queens Road Metrolink (tram) station for a short ride into town. It was so nice that all of the staff we had contact with were genuinely friendly, helpful and efficient. We would definitely stay again. [We agree with a previous reviewer...we were also disappointed that they use plastic cups in the rstaurant].
