Reviews From Real Travelers
This is not our first stay at the hotel. This was our 3rd or 4th visit and it is the last for sure due to their poor customer handling and management. I must say that our previous stays were fabulous and i have made positive reviews in TripAdvisor for those. However, this time most of the staff are new to us and not so friendly and caring as the ones who were there earlier starting from the front office. They just don't care, I don't know if its because we are local travellers. On the other hand, the ”amberella” welcome drink is awesome as always. We stayed in a Duplex as there were 4 adults and my 9 month old baby. The rooms were clean and spacious. The living area was giving a calming vibe and had the same look as their other villas we have stayes before. Our baby, husband and I were in the upstair room and when we entered the room is was heated up and the air conditioner was not working properly. It was so uncomfortable so we called the front office and they sent a team to repair. It was taking alot of time so we requested for another room as our baby was feeling tired and needed a nap. Plus, they had adequate rooms vacant and even had Duplex category rooms available too. Still, they refused to shift us to another room so we kept the baby in the ground floor room. The repair took around 2 hours! And then we went to the room and the air conditioner was working. Yet, we were not able to have a nap and relax as we had to go out to Anuradhapura which is the main reason for our visit. So we came back at around 9.30pm and the air conditioner was not working again. Again the same drill, a team came, inspected and told us they need to repair again and it was 11.45pm when they said this. We refused because we were already exhausted as needed to sleep. Also, now, at 11.45 at night they are asking us if we can move to another room (Duplex category). They had vacant Duplex category rooms all this time and in the moddle of the night they are asking us to shift. In my head I was bursting but we were all too tired to keep arguing or leaving the useless place so we stayed in the same Duplex room just till morning. Early morning we left the hotel without breakfast eventhough we had paid for full board. They charged us the whole amount and invoiced for the additional food as well as mini bar (just mentioned this if not someone could think that they must've given a discount or wave-off). So we paid almost 500USD just for one night for this drama. We will never go back to this hotel and not at all recommend. I guess the main issue was poor management of the situation and it shows how poor the hotel management is. We were in Duplex 3 (Kohomba). This hotel staff or management will never care about the customer if something goes wrong and lacks hospitality. Afterall, while we were having our breakfast we got a call from the general manager of the hotel and he apologized but I think it is too late as we have already left their property. On the plus side, t

We stayed at the Water Gardens during our tour of Sri Lanka. Our accommodation with plunge pool and fabulous views of sigiriya was amazing. It had a separate lounge area also. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble for Gayan. We enjoyed lovely cocktails in the bar area overlooking the pool. The meals we had were well presented and delicious. There was a good mix of Sri Lankan and western choices. The gardens are well tended and it was lovely to see all the wildlife that enjoyed them too. This would definitely be on our list to stay at again if we manage to get back to Sri Lanka.

A tip top boutique villa style resort with jaw dropping views of Sigirya and Pidurangala rocks. Infinity pool and restaurant share the unobstructed spectacular views. The palatial room also features a large luxurious bathroom and a roomy patio likewise with views. Top notch service from all staff. The Restaurant offers a great variety of dishes. Though we chose Sri Lankan specialties, which were excellently and generously prepared. Need a refreshing cocktail or child beer as you lounge poolside done. With only 9 villas on the property is quite peaceful and the cater to personalized service.

Outstanding stay. Lots to do using hotel as a base and most enjoyable doing nothing at all. Great food, most comfortable rooms. The views of the Lion Rock and Pidurangala Rock are breathtaking. Exceptional service and Kalika the owner is a most welcoming host. Warning: If you are driving on your own DO NOT follow Google map on your phone as it shows a dirt road to nowhere. Call the hotel But DO STAY for two or three nights minimum to enjoy all on offer

This was the first stop to the hotel in Sri Lanka, and I stayed for one night. Location: Very close to Lion Rock, we returned to the hotel after playing! Service: Warm, give a glass of local juice as soon as you come, and take the initiative to send luggage into the room! Room: In line with the picture, we booked a triple room and a family room. The triple room has one large bed and one small bed; the quadruple room has one large bed and two small beds! There is a hair dryer with not much wind, the water volume is very small, the water temperature is not stable, there are mosquitoes, not too many, and there is no mosquito net in the room, and I have not been bitten this night! The cubicle is not good. The child sings ”Twinkle, Twinkle, Twinkle” while taking a bath, isolate a man, and also say ”Twinkle, Twinkle Twinkle,” with a smile! Food: As it was getting late, I did not go out for dinner purposely. I ordered the food and meal time at the front desk of the hotel. The taste is acceptable and the price is moderate! Breakfast and buffet, but rich! The recommendation index is 3.9 (out of 5 points)

MAGICAL!! it's a pity that we had just 1 night to spend in this resort.... it's a place to detox, disconnect, seek within and go on a soul searching journey to connect within yourself! The entire energy of this place is pure! From the way we were greeted with the temple flowers as we were walked down to our little cottage to the natural fragrance in the room with the fresh flowers decorated in all corners of the room, the bed and the washroom.... everything was charming. Wifi was only in the lounge area/common...so you could not stay cooped up in your place all day...n if you happen to go in Jan/Feb, that's just great coz it will get a little pleasantly chilly at late evenings ...n just breathing in that fresh clean air was amazing! The buffet spread includes live cooking counter and is quite varied...not exceptionally varied for vegetarians but overall a good spread. I would love to go back n just be there a few days n slack in the beauty in that still and clear clean quiet. There is also an ayurvedic centre within the premises for those interested.... I would suggest, it's worth a try and the prices are pretty good too.

The hotel's swimming pool can be seen from the panoramic view of Lion Rock. It is suitable for taking pictures. The scenery is really very good. Each room is an independent small house. The whole hotel is like a wild park, many animals, the room is big, the environment is good. But the check-in experience was very poor, and I started to give a paint-like room. At the time, the waiter said that it was normal. I was anxious to go to Lion Rock and put my luggage away. I went back at night to find that the taste was really super thick, and the bathroom faucet It’s bad. There are no such things as toilet paper shower gel. It’s just a room under repair. I can’t live. Although I have been tossing the room for a long time, I still feel unhappy, and I have to change the plug with the front desk. A waiter said that he needed to look at my charger. He said that he gave it to me in five minutes, but he never came back. Then he called again to the front desk and still let me wait for five minutes, but until me. The next day I checked out and didn't wait to convert the plug. If I didn't have it, I should talk to me. The service is really super bad.

Beautiful hotel, surrounded by nature and beautiful birds, so quiet and peaceful. The bed is extremely comfortable, the shower is great, the rooms are spacious. Short walking distance to Sigiriya rock and to Sigiriya town. The pool is beautiful and extremely clean, with an awesome view. Stuff are really helpful and extremely cordial. Special mention to the restaurant staff. The food is amazing, the chefs are lovely. A special thanks to Sunil and Guilan (the restaurant staff) they represent the best of Sri Lanka, the people. Will always be in our hearts. If we come back to Sri Lanka we will definitively will stay here. Ayubowan.

Garden-style hotel, with beautiful scenery and large rooms. There is also a welcome ceremony when arriving at the hotel. There are not many people staying at the hotel. The most funny thing is that from the lobby to the room, the bottle car cannot pass the path smoothly. At that time, the design was not thoughtful. The overall feeling is that this hotel is a relatively high-end hotel in the local area, which is good in all aspects, but remember to give a little more tip, otherwise you can just shake your face and show it to you

It is about 10 kilometers away from Lion Rock. The environment is good, breakfast and dinner are not bad. To vomit, the mosquitoes licked my head and slept for more than three hours at night. The service is very good, can pass, and what is lacking in Sri Lanka is a smile and a sincere smile. The hotel really has to pay special attention, I am tired all day. The result was only three hours of sleep, and the second day was groggy.

There are two types of English breakfast and Sri Lankan breakfast, which are quite rich, but less than buffet style. The room is very British. The backyard is a meadow, the trees are monkeys, and the environment is very good.

10 minutes walk to Sigiriya Rock, there are various shops near the hotel, it was good. The hotel was cute and open and nice. We had breakfast at a nearby shop, but both the omelet and the bread were delicious!

The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. There was a nice backyard as well. The hotel was beautiful, with a really good view to the Lion Rock. The swimming pool was cool. The food was tasty and with a great variaty (with western and local options). There was live music every night. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

After the Lion Rock came out, the hotel was quite remote. I felt that I had walked through a hotel in the wilderness. I didn’t dare to leave the hotel door at night. The room was large and quiet. The place to eat was at the pool, breakfast and dinner were at The hotel solved it, there were not many varieties, and there was no problem in eating. When I left, I found a piece of clothing falling in the hotel and called to contact me. I said that I would go to Colombo three days later and let the hotel express to the Colombo Hotel. I promised very well. During the period, I repeatedly asked if I had no problem, but I still didn’t receive it in the hotel three days later. I called and said that I hadn’t sent it yet, so that I finally didn’t receive the clothes when I left Sri Lanka. It’s also a pity~

Had 2 nights there, nice view, yummy dinners and breakfasts, cool co-owner, and spacious rooms. Even though we had a huge thunderstorm and blackout during our stay, we fully enjoyed this hotel. We got a free late check-out from the owner, which was perfect bonus for us. The only problem we had is that the toilet washlet did not work in our bathroom. I am sure that it will be fixed soon. Therefore, I would give 4.5 stars for this hotel. One of the best in SL for us. Well done!
