I cant fault the staff or the food but the hotel itself looks tired especially the bedroom and the swimming pool and would be incredible if it was refinished to a higher standard. For example, the shower head was covered in lime scale, the hair dryer was broken and some of the second fixings are worn and broken. Despite this, I would stay there again as we had a very enjoyable visit.FromUS$120

Set in breathtaking scenery in the Strangford and Lecale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near the banks of Strangford Lough, our converted stables are the perfect place to relax and re-charge.We are only 20 minutes from Belfast and but once here, Ballygraffan is like a sanctuary where you can get back in touch with nature and de-stress.There is plenty to do whether it be visiting the local tourist attractions around the Strangford Peninsula, such as the National Trust properties at Mount Stewart and Castleward, availing of the excellent eating establishments or simply relaxing in the unique ambiance of the setting.This converted stable, of which there are only two, is beautifully presented and remarkably spacious. We hope that you will wake up feeling totally refreshed. They really were working stables until recently and are named after the horse whose stable it used to be. In this case - Maurice!You can open the patio doors, and look out over the beautiful view from your bed. The accommodation is a basement apartment accessed via its own private entrance at the side of our main house and consists of the following:-- A good sized living room with a dining table for 4 people, two 2-seater electric reclining sofas, a small coffee table and a 32" HDTV with Roku for access to personal media apps.- A large bedroom with a kingsize bed, sofabed, large pine cupboard, large pine drawers, bedside tables & lamps, travel cot and fold out bed if required. We also provide a fan for those rare hot summer nights.- A well appointed kitchen with a cooker, microwave, required utensils & crockery, toaster, fridge, washing machine and an all important pod coffee machine.- A large bathroom with a jacuzzi bath, backlit mirrored cabinet and a large separate shower. - A hallway with a coat rack containing extra cushions & blankets for your added comfort.- A private terrace surrounded by plant life and containing a table with two chairs for a secluded and relaxing environment to enjoy the sun.We provide all our guests with access to high speed reliable WiFi.We also provide our guests with a few essentials to help them settle in and have as stress free a stay as possible. This includes, fresh towels, bread/breakfast muffins, eggs, milk, coffee, tea and biscuits for dipping (or just eating).The apartment heating is set to 18degC internal temperature as per World Health Organisation guidelines. Lagoon View cottage couldn’t be better placed if you want to enjoy the best of the wonderful Ards peninsula. Stepping out of the front door takes you straight onto the famous Millisle Lagoon and Sea Park. The tidal lagoon is perfect for little dippers or a morning swim for the more adventurous.The cottage has a wonderful east facing veranda overlooking the sea at the front, for those morning coffees.
