I can't recommend Pearle Beach Resort enough. The service here is by far the best I have ever experienced in a hotel and I have been lucky enough to visit lots of them. Every member of the team is friendly and welcoming and you are made to feel like part of the family. Sandy in particular made our stay special, always coming over to chat and giving us great advice on where to visit on the island. The restaurant team were all brilliant, Julietta,Julian,Ariella and everyone else (sorry I don't know all the names). Vikash and the other chefs always came out at meal times to check everything was perfect and chat to the guests. The food selection was good, there were different themed nights and always Mauritian food to try each day. There was always plenty for my boyfriend to eat who is vegetarian. We hired a car through the hotel, Luqmaan on reception was great at helping with this. I would definitely recommend this as a way of seeing the rest of the island. We love snorkelling and found that the beach the hotel is on, was for us the best on the island. You can swim very easily in the lagoon straight off the beach and see all sorts of different marine life, without needing to book a boat trip. We stayed in room 309 and it was perfect. This is one of the recently renovated rooms with a sea view. Sitting on the balcony at the end of each day and watching the sunset was my favourite thing to do. On arrival we were treated to a fruit platter and a bottle of fizz delivered to our room and a couple of welcome gifts. One night we were even invited for drinks with the management team in a 'secret' location. The housekeeping team were also brilliant. I loved that they visited the rooms on the evening to check if you needed anything even after they had already been earlier in the day. Damien from the entertainment team was great, I joined one of his aqua gym classes which was a laugh. He was quick to learn which guests were keen to join in activities and which ones preferred to observe and he didn't harass you. Patrick and the team in the bar were very friendly too. I would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of coming to Mauritius. (Sorry I don't have any photos of the room but it was lovely) Thank you for making our holiday so memorable, Maxine and David x

The hotel is not bad, they cleaned room every day. The food was not varied, there were no fresh vegetables at breakfast, but there were some at lunch and dinner. And there were fruits only at breakfast and mostly melon, watermelon, pineapple. Local alcohol. Spa is expensive. The incident with the excursion really spoiled the holiday. We agreed with a local beach boy, I attached a photo of his documents, about an individual boat trip for the purpose of swimming with dolphins and fishing. We agreed on a walking time from 7.00 to 12.00, cost 700 euro. In the morning he wrote that the motor was broken, I asked to return the advance payment, then he replied that the boat would be at 8.00. They came for us at 9.30, we paid the rest, drove us around for an hour, saw dolphins, but there was no fishing, and brought us back to the hotel. A woman was waiting for us on the shore and said that Jason had paid her only 200 euro for an one hour of walking and asked her to leave the boat. On the shore, we sorted things out for a long time, called this Jason Callatchan, he answered from her phone and said that he would return the money at 15.00 and bring it to the hotel. He did not come and did not answer calls. In the evening we walked to the police station, told this story, to which serious guys in uniform answered us: go to the beach tomorrow morning at 9.00 am, find this Jaison and bring him to us. Then we all realized that this is just an organized crime group and everyone there is tied up, including the cops. Advice: buy excursions from a tour operator. We came as independent travelers, so we looked for everything ourselves and this is the sad result.
