A wonderful trip to celebrate 40years of friendship with my best friend. We stayed in a Club room overlooking the pool and sea with a large balcony. The facilities in Club were excellent and well worth the extra cost. The staff were attentive wherever we went and in particular we enjoyed the fun provided by Zakaria at afternoon tea and evening drinks. His “five minutes drinking time left” (when there was at least an hour or more remaining) made everyone smile. He suggested recipes for different cocktails at the evening free bar and always asked after everyone’s day. We could not fault the hotel. We didn’t use the pool area as we had trips out and enjoyed walking over the cliffs to Papagaya beach (sandy cove with lovely soft yellow sand). It always looked relaxing and there was a quiet peace about it. Next time I might try a pool session. Lots of restaurants around but with afternoon tea included and a few snacks with our evening drink we didn’t feel hungry enough to sample many!

We spent 16 nights over Christmas and New Year at the Fariones and had a great time. The Hotel is beautifully and tastefully renovated with subtle luxury in a classic mid- century design which you would typically find in smaller boutique hotels. Many old features of the traditional Fariones Hotel were kept which all together provides a very comfortable and classy and elegant atmosphere without being stuffy or fussy. The grounds and garden resemble top luxury resorts in Thailand or the Maldives with plenty of palm trees, exotic gardens and many different and private areas for lounging, sun bathing, relaxing and so on. All 3 restaurants have their own style with great food and service. All rooms have sea views with a high level of comfort, design and decoration The sports center 2 minutes walk away although a little older offered everything needed and more... The hygiene concept was professional and taken seriously Hotel Director Jörg and his team made great efforts during Christmas and New Year with a classy programme of dining, entertainment, live music and daily piano sessions which all in all provided a very festive atmosphere. The multinational team of the Fariones displayed a very positive spirit. The hotel opened only a few month before the holiday season and it seemed that everone was exited to be back in business ater 4 yers of renovation. Despite the reopening there was not a single negative service moment in over 2 weeks. Just to name a few staff members who made it a special stay for us: Arnaud, Emilie and Javier from reception. We have just returned from a 10 day family holiday at dreams. We had a room overlooking the kids slide pool and stayed on an All Inclusive basis. The hotel is stunning and is refurbished to a very high standard. The lobby and communal areas are beautiful & have a very luxurious feel. Our room was perfect for us - clean & comfortable. Rooms are cleaned daily to a good standard and the mini bar is replenished with drinks daily. The beds and linens are very comfortable - we slept really well our entire trip. Small gripe we weren’t given towels 2 days but we were able to order them on the app to be delivered to our room. The food in the hotel does vary in terms of quality. Breakfast in the world cafe is great - plenty of options to choose from and generally something for everyone. To be honest I can’t really say the same about lunch and dinner in the buffet, we only had dinner once and lunch once, and neither time were we impressed much. The coco cafe is a lovely alternative if you don’t mind a lighter lunch or some cake/coffee instead. They do a great caramel frappe and they also have some really yummy ice creams - our daughter loved it there. The A La Carte restaurants are much better , although again standards vary. Our favourite was Portofino closely followed by The Bluewater Grill. The asparagus & Iberian ham soup is gorgeous! Sabor had great starters and desserts but the mains were a little hit & miss. Himitsu was a bit of a let down for us. We stayed at Dreams in the Caribbean and Himitsu was our favourite, however my husband had a green seafood curry that was neither green nor curry. He said it was like drinking a salty soup. The chocolate dessert again wasn’t great, not a 5* offering. My main feedback or hopefully constructive criticism would be lack of consistency. I ordered the same dish two nights in a row - first night amazing - second night just ok. We also had a few occasions where we ordered the same thing but they came out looking different. Or dishes advertised as containing certain ingredients but arriving without.If things could just be a bit more consistent it would really improve the experience. One of my favourite things about the hotel is the staff. I’ve got to say that whilst there were times I could see that they need more, the ones that are there are incredibly hard working, passionate and professional. We were treated like family from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. I’d like to give a special mention to Maria & Sarah at the kids club who were great with our little girl. Victoria at the Marlin bar who helped me practice my Spanish - she’s a gem! Hugo & Denisa on the entertainment team - so much fun and laughter had with these two. And in the restaurants Aaron, Gorka & Marcos always made us feel so welcome and taken care of. And of course Daniel - every hotel should have a Daniel he is just so lovely and makes your guest experience very special. Our daughter was delighted every time she saw him. O

Our stay didn’t start very well. We were half board and went down for dinner after arriving late afternoon. We expected 9 restaurants as advertised on Jet2, three of which were included in the half board. Instead just 3 restaurants were open, only one of which was included in the half board. The buffet was really awful to be honest and there was absolutely no atmosphere. We raised this with customer services asking to go to Bed and Breakfast only and to receive the money back for the evening meal so we could eat elsewhere but they directed us to jet2 as we booked through them. Jet2 agreed to sort this out but didn’t bother in the end and we ended up eating elsewhere at our own expense for the rest of our stay. Very disappointing. That aside, the rest of our stay was great. The hotel is impressive in size and scale. The communal areas are fantastic, the gym is great, breakfast was excellent. The rooms are very dated. Good size, big beds, very clean but the decor is not 5 star by any stretch. The bathrooms need an urgent update. Staff were friendly enough. The proximity to the beach directly from the hotel was excellent. Also I would highly recommend food and cocktails at the nearby Bikers Beach Club. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and would return. I would not go half board though, better off eating nearby instead. We are disappointed neither Jet2 or the hotel addressed our concern, which we raised immediately. We would also warn that, off season, most of the restaurants aren’t open, which was not highlighted either by the hotel or Jet2.

This hotel is in a lovely quiet location. It has great amenities including several pools and restaurants. The best thing is the staff who are fantastic, friendly and very helpful. Food is good but not great. We felt they would benefit from including daily specials to boost variety. It’s worth upgrading to Preferred for the access to private pool area and restaurants. One strange thing is that despite being adults only most of the pool areas are very shallow so not suitable for swimming. We would recommend eating at the sushi bar Gotham. The chef is brilliant, very charismatic and makes some fantastic sushi. Our trip went well for 8 days but then the hotel was invaded by a massive group of Americans on a corporate reward group. This turned a hotel that was supposed to be romantic and for couples into a noisy, shindig. The noise levels increased with the alcohol consumption from late afternoon until late night. It was a very disappointing end to what had been a lovely holiday. Surely a hotel that advertises it is for couples should not be offering mass corporate stays.

Just got back from a lovely 2 weeks here. Only reason I gave 4* is because one outdoor pool was supposed to be heated and it wasn’t (they were freezing). Also check in was a bit confusing re deposits, remotes, keys and towels & then they tried to make out that we didn’t pay a deposit when we returned them. Got sorted in the end though. Rooms are basic but clean. Beds are comfy. Hotel grounds are immaculate. Indoor pool lovely and warm (adults only). Had some ants in the room, told reception who soon sorted them. Didn’t eat in the hotel but you can pay on the day of you want to, the food looked lovely. 10 min stroll to the beach, 20 min to the Marina & 15 mins to the main *****. It’s 3* so if you want 5* don’t go here. I can’t wait to go back!
