When ordering the fruit with french toast, we only got a few blueberries and no other fruit. The chairs in the restaurant were also a bit worn and could do with replacing.

Besides the main attractions, the surrounding area also offers a wide range of dining options. The hotel is small, and the room amenities aren't perfect, but they retain a touch of French elegance. The restaurant downstairs serves good food and is reasonably priced. Of course, staying in the heart of DC, don't expect a bargain. In addition to the Ctrip room fee, this hotel also charges a $34.79 ”Urban Experience Fee and Tax” per day. Even so, the rate is only average for the area. The hotel doesn't have its own parking lot, but Valet Parking charges $65 per day plus tip, which is average for the area. The problem is that the parking is quite far away, and the wait to retrieve the car can take over 20 minutes.

The lobby is very classical and gorgeous, but the room facilities are average, and certainly cannot be compared with the four or five-star hotels in our country. The breakfast is very rich, which is good.

Request for this at check-in but hotel declined stating that they only serve ala-carte breakfast. Called trip.com support to resolve issue. However, trip.com unable to solve issue and offer to compensate with trip coins instead and the value of trip coins offered is for 1 person instead of 2 persons as booked for this room. One of the 2 bedside lamps is not in good working condition - light goes out when there is vibration/contact with the lamp. Reported to front desk but the fix was no good. Problem recurred intermittently. A bit of mould on bath tub grouting.

Guest rooms are very spacious. Location is great: walking distance to Georgetown and five minutes to the DuPont Circle Red Line station. Check in and check out were fast. The fitness center equipment was upgraded during my visit. The pool was, however, closed for the duration. Staff were friendly. The business center’s printer’s toner needed to be replaced but wasn’t during my visit but front desk staff helped me with printing. Housekeeping staff are nice but sometimes maybe too busy and can forget to replenish everything, such as paper cups for the coffee machines. Generally very good value hotel.

I stayed at this hotel during the Christmas holiday, and it was a fantastic experience. The location is excellent — very close to the White House, with plenty of restaurants nearby. What I really appreciated was the daily cleaning service, which was always done thoroughly. The restaurant on the first floor was also impressive, with food and service comparable to a fine-dining restaurant. Everything about this hotel was perfect the location, cleanliness, and friendliness of the staff. If I visit Washington again, I will definitely stay here again.

The hotel is not your typical dimension but it was clean and the mattress + pillows are one of the best I have slept on. The location was good as it was close to Metro, White House, Lincoln memorial, and Georgetown (walking around 20 mins). There is also a Metro station close by. However, it’s far away from the convention center though, you will need to take a taxi or Uber to get there. The one suggestion I have is to provide kettle for hot water in the room as well as bottle waters. Most of the reception reps are very helpful and cheerful, only the grave yard shift reception lady is not in a good mood (I know it’s grave yard shift…but). The elevator needs some improvement as well since it’s very slow… (I’m not sure it’s because of the elevator manufacturer or because of the old building).

This was a good hotel for the money and convenient location. It was a little hard not to have a refrigerator, but I knew that in advance. The staff were helpful and informative and being able to park there was a big help. It is expensive but still cheaper than staying far out of the city and taking the train in as a family of four. The neighborhood is lovely and there are restaurants and two nice grocery stores a block away. The subway is also just a block away and that made it so convenient. I love the wildflowers growing along the street to make food for pollinators.

There are supermarkets conveniently located nearby, and the neighborhood itself is quite pleasant. You'll also find plenty of street parking. The hotel is located fairly near Union station, however there is a massive problem with homeless people hanging around outside. Overall, the rooms are clean if not a little dated. We had a question over credit card charges. Our family booked the room online with Trip and the hotel preauthorised our card $340 dollars, on arrival charged $200 dollars deposit and then took a further $190 for some reason until o removed the authority on the card. A two night stay is equal to $740 dollars while we wait for refunds. The hotel could do more to make sure dangerous homeless do not wait around outside, and when there was a problem in my last night outside the security disappeared. If you want a bolt hole in Washington DC this is okay, for a family friendly environment due to problems outside and charging issues this is not the place to visit

There is an annoying “historical preservation” fee of $30 per night. I’m not sure what is being preserved… it feels like a resort fee, but without any amenities or benefits to show for it. And they don’t clean your room each night. Only once every third night.
