First the great- staff friendly & helpful, as a Platinum Elite member they honored our very late checkout, breakfast was fine. We only stayed one night we moved over from the Springhill Suites in Clearwater Beach because we wanted to be closer to a wedding in Tampa that night and we were flying out the next day. Unfortunately I kind of wished we stayed at the Springhill suites & paid the extra money for another night. While we were a bit closer to the wedding we attended I was not happy with the location of this hotel. There was nothing in walking distance I didn’t feel it was a nice area, our room had a musty unpleasant smell and I didn’t feel that it was clean. As compared to the Springhill Suites we had just come from it felt run down.

Spent a week at this fantastic hotel. The location is just perfect. All staff were friendly and very helpful. Raphael on the front desk went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. We were fortunate to be there the week before hurricane Ian, hoping everyone there is safe and well and the hotel hasn’t suffered damage 🙏🏻 We will definitely return when we are in the area. (Recommend paying the extra for a full ocean view - amazing to watch the dolphins from the room)

I called Hampton Inn & Suites Clearwater Beach on South Gulfview Boulevard on June 10 to make reservations, and spoke with Stephen, who was a manager. I made him aware that I was coming to stay and that, due to a problem with my flight, I would not have any luggage or any food for my guide dog. He was very helpful and stated that, when I checked in, he would recommend places to get the items that I needed. I arrived around 5:00 p.m. on June 10 to check in. My guide dog was in her harness as I walked up to the front desk, at which point I made the front desk employee, Nancy, aware that I was legally blind. Nancy proceeded to ask me if I had a car, and then apparently realized that because I was blind I would not have one. She then proceeded to ask me to fill out a form without telling me what it was, and I reminded her that, because I was blind, I could not see to fill it out. She stated she would fill it out for me, and she asked me for my phone number and my ”pet's” name. I told her that my dog was not a ”pet” - she was a trained service animal. Nancy repeated her question, and I replied the same way. She asked the question yet a third time, and at this point I told her that my guide dog's name was ”Ginny” and that she should note on whatever form she was filling out that Ginny was not a ”pet,” she was a service animal. After this, Nancy asked me to sign the form she had filled out on my behalf without informing me what I was signing. I asked her what it was, and she stated that it was a ”pet agreement.” I reiterated for the third or fourth time that Ginny was a service animal and not a pet. Nancy replied that I needed to sign the form anyway. I asked her what it said. She stated that it said I would be charged a ”pet fee.” At this point I asked to speak to Stephen, the manager, and was told that he would not be back the rest of the weekend. I informed Nancy that it was illegal to charge me a pet fee for my service dog, and that I was not signing the form. After ignoring me with other tasks for a few minutes as I stood there, she finally gave me my room key with no further discourse on the subject. She also gave me a ”pet” sign to put on my door, which I left on the front desk because again, my dog is a service animal, and not a pet. At this point, I felt like I was staying in a hostile environment. Meekly - and almost in tears - I told Nancy that I needed someone to help me to my room. She grudgingly got someone to assist me, and I made it to my room before I cried. Eventually, I went back down to the front desk and Nancy at least showed me where the restaurant was. The restaurant staff were very kind, and could not believe that Nancy had treated me so inappropriately. Fast forward to the next morning. I went down to the front desk and asked to speak with the current manager or assistant manager on duty, at which point Nick - an assistant manager - came to speak with me. The hotel is not very new, but clean and tidy. The pool and the restaurant on the first floor are very good. The restaurant has live music every night. It feels good to sit outside and listen to music while eating and watching the sunset. It takes about 5 minutes from the hotel to the white beach, personally feel very close, you can borrow beach towels at the front desk. There is a Kurig coffee machine in the hotel room, and the washing is Bath & Body Works. Overall, it is a hotel with a very good price/performance ratio in Clearwater. It would be better if the guest parking is free, now it is 25 knives per night, just go in and out.

The location is excellent, it is next to two good hotels, the pool is divine, it has an exceptional view and although they close it at sunset, if you wish, you can go to the hotel next door, which is the Holiday, the rooftop bar is very nice and the shepard which is the other hotel has a night club and a good nightlife.

The service was great. As many other reviewer‘s have reported, the motion sensor lights are sometimes problematic. But the front desk is very responsive. Also the ice machine on my floor did not work which is kind of a thing for me personally. But the hotel itself is beautiful and smells amazing!! While it is not directly on the beach, it is across the street and a very short walk. I would definitely stay there again. The only food I had there was at the outside bar, but it was really really good!

The hotel is very good, crossing the road is the famous white beach forbidden area by the sea. There is a supermarket downstairs and there is a place to practice surfing. The rooms are super large and the kitchen utensils are all available. The parking fee is small, and there is a tip for 27 knives a night.

Clearwater Bay is beautiful, and personally feels thinner than Miami Beach, and the price is more affordable. The beach is not visible from the hotel, there is a shopping mall in the middle, and the beach is across the mall. The hotel room is very large. Our suite has two double beds and a sofa bed. It includes 6 breakfasts. We were comfortable for 4 people. The breakfast was great and very satisfying.

We stayed here in June and had a good experience, except for the “below average” breakfast ( keep that in mind). We had a great view in room 602, and before we left, booked it again for September, requesting the same room—at least the same view. We came there in June because we prepaid for the rooms, though the Ringo & his All-Starr Band concert got postponed to September (two of them had COVID in June). So we came back last week for the concert. The concert was great, but cannot say that for Pier 60. When we checked in last week, we were relegated to a room as far away as possible from what we requested when we rebooked, a view of the parking garage. We went to the front desk, were informed it would be an extra $100 per night to stay in the same area we did before. When I protested, the clerk lowered it to $75 per night, wouldn’t go any lower, AND said we’d have to pay an extra $32 per day for parking, the pool, and the below average (and supposedly “complimentary” breakfast). My spouse had an injured foot and didn’t need to walk that far to the worst room in the hotel, so we bit the bullet and stayed in the better room and got hosed for the extra charges. That won’t happen again. If we ever return to Clearwater, which is doubtful at this point, we will avoid Pier 60 like the plague, We don’t appreciate being treated so badly. On top of being hosed as we were, I don’t need rock-hard breakfast items and bruised bananas. Never again. Be forewarned. I’m thankful Trip Advisor gives the chance to warn others.

While researching hotels, I visited this property a month before my arrival to make sure the accommodation would work for my purposes. At that time, I was shown a specific layout for the 1 bedroom queen beds configuration. The front desk attendant specified the description of the room that I should book when I made the reservation. I made the reservation based on their information and the room I was shown. A month later when I check in, I am given a room half the size of the one I was shown. I tell the front desk that it was not what I was told and I am unhappy with the room and I need the bigger room. The gas let me and told me that they had already given me the biggest room they had. I'm not kidding when it was literally half the size of the one I previewed. I walked the front desk attendance to the door of the room I was shown and was assured that those rooms are the same size and they couldn't be shown to me at that time because they were occupied. I had to cancel most of the event I had planned due to lack of space and lost revenue I would have earned giving a workshop to paying pupils. Complete bait and switch. Avoid this property.

We did not know what to expect, but what an AMAZING find!! We had a 2 Queen with a couch sitting area and a desk, very roomy feeling. Every place in the hotel (lobby, breakfast, elevators, room) were clean and I observed staff cleaning at different times. The staff, ALL of the staff were wonderful, went above and beyond to accommodate us, from the woman who tends the breakfast who was very friendly as were the house keeping ladies and the lobby staff who kindly gave us quarters for the washer-YES washer and dryer on site!! We had gone fishing and promptly used the washer upon Arrington back at the hotel. This place also has a small excercise room and beautiful water views. Absolute GEM.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on Gulf-to-Bay in Clearwater for two nights to escape Hurricane Ian. The room was clean and comfortable and it was great to have a free hot breakfast each morning. The lobby has lots of comfortable seating and a big TV. The hotel is in a non-evacuation zone and I felt totally safe and really didn’t hear the rain and wind.

I came into town for a business meeting and was very happy with my stay. It was nice and quiet in my room, considering the hotel is near a busy road. Anytime I need anything the staff was always there to please their guests. It was very nice to see a manager always around, checking on his staff, seeing if they needed help. This hotel is a dump. The rooms look like something out of a movie about cheap **********s and their johns--old smelly carpets, broken furniture, door safety latch that was actually missing, bathroom fan like a Harley Davidson. There are so many better places to stay in Clearwater, and we wish we had. The last straw was that we were told to bring our dirty sheets and towels to the check-in counter because there wasn't any housekeeping service.

I made my annual return to Clearwater for Phillies Spring Training games and my trip is not complete without staying at this wonderful location. It's always great to see the friendly faces year after year and the excellent service they provide (Stephen, Dawn, Dan, Joe, Andrew, Carlos) and a few others whose names I cannot recall(sorry). Front desk staff always professional and helpful; maintenance crew always handy to resolve any issues with the room. I had a room on the 2nd floor (228) overlooking the pool area. Everything worked well - no complaints at all. I love the private balcony! For longer stays, housekeeping is every 3 days unless requested otherwise - they do a great job. Breakfast is still served in the conference center - gloves are provided to wear when handling certain items. Some people didn't wear them but I did for safety reasons. Plenty of items to choose from and items were well-stocked throughout the morning. Pool area was very clean and well taken care of with plenty of lounge chairs. It's always hard to say goodbye to these fine people when it's time to go back home, but they know (and I know) that I'll be back next March!

On the morning of the 25th, Santa Claus will take photos with the children in the lobby. Haven't stayed at at Simply hotel before and absolutely love this hotel chain! Rooms are very big and offer full fridges, traveling for business for 2 weeks at a time, this was a nice change. Even better, they offered free laundry washer/dryers- so I didn't go home with a ton of dirty laundry. Staff was so friendly and accommodating, even gave me directions and suggestions to some local restaurants.

Stayed here for a little over a week. Clean rooms, friendly staff. Nice pool area. Location is kind of away from a lot of things but there's some nearby Latin Shops and a great breakfast place right next door. The room stayed clean and well stocked. Very quiet laid back area for reasonable prices. Pets are welcome and they even have what used to be a Dog park in the back behind the building next to an old tennis court. They are renovating right now as well. Breakfast in the front office was pretty basic...cereal coffee...fruit...danishes and yogurt. I recommend this place...new management is doing a great job. 🤗😁
