This hotel is managed by the Ninane-Louis family, all of them looking to make their best for you to feel pampered and the most welcome. Just next to the famous "Sanglier des Ardennes", the hotel is centrally located and offering all what you can expect to enjoy a nice stay: the rooms are renovated and with all the necessary amenities, you are enjoying a parking space for your car all along your stay, free Wi-Fi,... Definitively a great choice, at a very competitive price, for those who are prefering human and friendly contacts.

Durbuy(pronounced Durbwee) is a beautiful town steeped in history and positioned geographically within the Wallonia region of Belgium. This place was unsurprisingly untouched during the Nazi advance through the Ardennes in the second world war. It would have been too nice to spoil I imagine. The small city with its cobbled streets is a great place to visit no doubt. The buildings, eateries and drinking establishments are plentiful and the choice of Belgian beers are endless. There aren't many places to stay within this small city (more like a small town really)but there are a few like the Hotel Le Vieux but beware! The hotel, as a building is fine, it looks great from the outside and has character. The problem, which is surprising is it is too hot inside the rooms. There is no air con or fans and has ventilation only through an open double glazed window which is ineffective. The noise from the street is echoed by the closeness of the streets and alleyways, so opening the windows for air leaves you in a catch 22 situation. You either get suffocated or put up with the relentless sound of the many people traversing the streets, day and night. An old creaking staircase to the rooms doesn't help anybody staying there either. The building is also annexed away from the check-in reception at its sister hotel,50 meters or so down the street. The hotel annex is unmanned for some reason. Breakfast is optional at 15 Euros per head. Buffet style food is served openly on side tables within the dining area. The problem is the flies. I have never seen so many flies around food in all my traveling years especially in a hotel such as this. It made me sick to my stomach. The breakfast is mainly continental and there were baguettes stacked up, fruit loafs uncovered, small patisseries and fruit open to this unwelcome plethora of germ-ridden insects. What made it worse were the toilets situated next to the dining room. I saw one lady dipping a cake thing into her tea. She probably ate the fly eggs within it too. Disgusting!! 'Get a fly killer', no expense spared, please. Toilet area, open plated food and flies do go together..for the flies, yes but come on get a grip!!. I suppose the proprietor will be mesmerized by these comments but I want to make sure they really know about healthy, hygienic conditions. It can't be ignored and please don't blame the wooded areas and river nearby. Get a damn Diaminox, it is quick and easy and for those bog fly lovers they won't know what hit them, so don't worry. Durbuy is definitely worth a visit but be wary of this hotel and its ignorance of food standards. Oh! and the wifi is diabolical, sorry.

We were very warm welcomed when checking in to the Saint Amour in Durbuy. With only 14 rooms, this hotel is small but great. A diamant found by chance on TripAdvisor which made our stay in Durbuy very pleasant. The people were extremly nice and friendly, the room and interieur of the whole hotel was very cute, the food was delicious and in addition, this very small city has stolen our heart. We had breakfirst and diner at the hotel (were visiting during the day) and it was absolutely delicious. Special requests were always happily fulfilled so that we felt welcomed and could relax on our 4 days "long weekend" trip. I can only recommend this cute little place and would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone in the hotel by heart for this pleasant stay. We will come back!

I stayed here for one night as part of a business trip in the Durbuy area in June 2018, and also ate at the restaurant for dinner. The check-in process was straightforward. The staff showed me to my room, and showed me how to operate the various functions of the room (e.g. lighting, aircon, windows etc.). Everything is digitally controlled, either via the control units on the walls or via a tablet. The room was well appointed with Nespresso machine, TV, air conditioning, WiFi, and a bathroom with shower, WC and sink. In my room, the bathroom was upstairs on a separate floor, although still private and within the same room. The bed was very comfortable and there was a good amount of storage space available underneath the staircase to the bathroom. Note that the hotel car park is around a 5 minute walk away from the hotel. Parking is €10/night, and is in a covered parking house. I also ate dinner in the restaurant - there was a good selection of food and drink available and seemed like good value for money. Breakfast was also good - plenty of cold choices, with bacon and scrambled eggs also provided. The freshly-squeezed orange juice was a huge plus! Check-out was as easy as checking in, and a detailed itemised receipt was provided. If I'm ever in the Durbuy area again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here. Thanks for the hospitality!

Honestly, I do not understand how this hotel gets the reviews it does? We found the room, "ok" but being on the first floor anyone above you sounds like a herd of elephants due to the thin, wooden floors. Our initial room had a door with a gaping hole in it and if you are more than 1,50m in height you will have an issue with the toilet! The other room was a little better away from the stairs, but still noisy above us. BUT, for me, a hotel's heart and soul hangs on the reception staff and Maître D in the restaurant... and this is where this place fell down big time. They honestly do not care about your welfare or even grace you with any social contact..." Get in, get out" and no advice on where to go, or what to see etc...Restaurant main waitress was rude (particularly on the first evening...) and we had the feeling we were a gross inconvenience for them. Menu was ok, BUT anything such as veg instead of something else, becomes expensive fast.... especially any water with your meal! Breakfast though was ok and indeed you can certainly find enough to start your day well, their most positive point. Durbuy is worth seeing, but my advice is DO NOT STAY there... pop in, see it and go!

So, we came here just after the corona lockdown was stopped. It was great, i can certainly recommend it, especially considering price/quality, the staff really helpful. The restaurant was price quality (and considering a 4 yo) super. Sure you will have people complain that there are better hotels, better food,... but considering what you pay; it s awesome. The cocktails by the way are also by the way super (and the irish coffee perfect 😀).

I went the for a polar training course, and the surprise was big. The place is so beautiful, green, in very good conditions, clean and everything was perfect. Is a good place for having a relax weekend or for some "outdoors" activity. The area is plenty of nice views. The room could be a little better, but they aren't bad.

Nestling on the slope of a hill in this most beautiful part of the Ardennes, just outside La Roche, is this charming family run hotel. The Ourthe river runs through an immaculately tended and colourful garden. The core of the hotel is Victorian but there are new, chalet-style rooms facing the garden that offer large balconies and good bathrooms with real baths. The dining room also looks on to the garden and is attractively panelled and light. Food is far better than you would expect from a Logis (which this is, although a 4 star one). The wine list is extensive but you don't need to spend more than 24 euros to get a very acceptable claret or burgundy. Your waiter will be Jean-Louis, a man of perfect manners and solicitude, brother of the manager and the lady who supervises the kitchen. It is the perfect place to base a tour of the Battle of the Bulge. Fishing and canoing is another draw. So is bicycling; but that is for the virile only as the Ardennes is festooned with steep narrow roads and thick dark woods, as Hitler found to his cost.

I've stayed at this "small chateau" 4 or 5 times over the past few years and it is getting a bit better each time. Last week I found that they now have a proper restaurant in the hotel, and a very good one it is. Saves me having to drive into Huy - the nearest town (only 5 minutes away but a drive nevertheless) - so I can afford to have a drink with dinner. Much better. This time my room - an "economique" one, was top floor with a splendid view to the rear of the chateau - woods and countryside - knocks the front view into a cocked hat; and nowt economique about the room either - decent size and bathroom.

easy to find..with good location for the town. A short walk of half a mile. The hotel has plenty of car park space. Rooms were more than expected in terms of size. Rooms at rear have limited view. Try for the front rooms. No evening meal here but the town offers plenty of choice. Average breakfast included in our price. Pleasant staff.

Nice, old building, situated at main street that has very little traffic in the evening. Quite nights are possible. Friendly staff that speaks only french also the village is situated between Germany (40km) and the province Flanders that speaks Netherlands and English. The restaurant has a very small variety of dishes, mostly pizza and pasta. We tried both and ended the meals disappointed. What is the problem to cook a simple but delicious pasta main course with fresh vegetables and a balanced sauce. Both, pizza and pasta are at the very end of taste and chef ambitious.

Have just returned from a 3 night stay, although the hotel is fairy comfortable and the reception staff very polite and friendly, the rooms are a bit on the small side due to the very large beds, bathroom has a good shower. The housekeeping in the rooms are not good, bin in the bathroom never emptied, there is a tissue box in the bathroom which had 6 tissues in it, that was never refilled, there is a kettle with coffee, tea bags and coffee creamer, they were never replaced. The sink in the bathroom was never cleaned or the shelf wiped, they ask you to reuse towel which we did, but on the last day, they bedding was changed, why? The breakfast was awful, scrambled eggs very overcooked and hard, often had to wait ten minutes before they were replenished, also had to wait for sliced bread for toast. The bacon was very fatty and not hot, one day there were omelettes, they were completely cold. No fresh fruit for cereal. No marmalade, only jams. There were never enough staff in the breakfast room, being small they need to be clearing tables, often had to move dirty plates to find a seat.

I stayed one night in a business room. Room looked like the picture, so it was nice and clean. Staff was nice, i could leave my trolley while I was visitng the city. Location is in front of the main train station, so very good in case you need to take an early train in the morning. I personally found the room very noisy...noise from the street (buses, etc, even if I was not on the side in fron of the station) and from the colling/heating system...thsi last one really never stopped (even if I didn't turned it on). I used ears plugs but still I could hear everyting. I mentioned this a the reception as I clearly asked for a quiet room at the moment of the reservation and this room supposed to be quiet (the first one they proposed me it was almost in fron of teh elevator so prefered another one) but considering also the location I don't think it is possible. I give average as evaluation because of the staff, the possibility to leave my suitcase and the location good as I needed to take a train in the early morning but as I mentioned for comfort I would give a very low evaluation unfortunately because of the noise.
