9.01km from Aux Terrasses du GriffonHaving recently returned from our trip to Lyon with a group of friends and staying at Phoenix hotel I would like to share our experience at the hotel. The hotel was generally ok and so were the rooms. Our issues were mostly with the staff and other functional things such as AC in rooms and WiFi. . Upon our arrival, 4 ladies and 4 young girls, there were two people at the reception and neither one of them looked up to greet us or check us in the rooms until we asked them to. Again no further assistance or greeting! This happened to our other friends who also checked in later on in the day. The breakfast was very poor in selection and quality and dining area was closed at 10am. Our younger girls would leave early in the mornings and us ladies would stay for a coffee. The staff in the dining area were unsmiling and very rude, never said good morning to us and gave us bad looks until we would leave. One morning, way before closing time, they started picking up the breakfast buffet and literally took away the oranges and machine while my friend was making juice! The waitress went to complain to the reception manager of the time, who came to ask us to leave and we got into an argument! They also turned off the WiFi so we wouldn’t have connection, even though that was a problem throughout our stay. The hotel manager was not there that day but the next morning when she was, the waitresses all said good morning to us. The only staff members that were a bit more helpful were the men. This whole situation made our stay very uncomfortable and tiring! I don’t think that this is a way to treat guests, especially ones with young kids, who don’t know French and would appreciate more assistance...that we never got!!
