|1.71km from city centerWe knew it was a cheap hotel and didn't expect much, but it still sounded better from reviews than appeared. The hotel is located in a very uninviting area. Walking to the old town is possible, but it's still a good 15-20 minute walk through the area with little attractions. We were surprized that there was only 1 small store in this whole district and even that was closed at 16:00 (due to holiday). The hotel is not inviting either. Looks from the outside and the inside like a modernized soviet building. We booked a double room, but there were 3 beds in our room. The extra bed taking the space which isn't enough in the room. The odor in the room wan't pleasant. The floor didn't seem to be swept well. Rust on the heat pipes in the room. Old TV. Wifi worked poorly. Not the cleanest bathroom either. No shampoo/shower gel - only some cheap kind of liquid soap on the sink. No room serivce. Very poor breakfast - cheap with little choices. But the worst was the attitude of the personnel. The lady serving breakfast showed attitude as if guests were unwelcome intruders in this hotel. When the coffee ran out and she was asked for a refill she gave a look as if she was asked for a huge favor she wasn't in the mood to fulfill. The ladies at the check-in kept asking for a room number each time you passed by. So the overall impression is of a hostel where you're not welcome at all. Please look for a better place to stay not to ruin the impression of Tallinn.

|0.32km from city centerOur stay was really nice. The staff was great, room was clean and location is perfect. Would like to return and probably will do that. Liked everything that hotel had to offer around that price point. Everything is right around the corner from this place - shops, bars and restaurants.

|0.85km from city centerFor cleanliness, safety and location (the big 3 for me), I would rate this five stars. It really was super clean, it felt super safe, and it was only a few minutes walk from Terminal A for Eckero boats. These are big factors! The room was also very well equipped with a hairdryer, plenty of towels, two nice big pillows, and soaps etc. Nice also to have a writing desk, and a blind that blocks out sun! These are all huge positives, so great job! If the following was solved, it would be a five star place! I had difficulties with check-in. I did self check-in, and I was given a room with number. There were no signs to show which way to go. However, I did find my way eventually. When I got there, I couldn't open the door, as it turns out my key card had to be authorised by reception first. So I had to go all the way back down, and through to the main hotel reception (as the express one was closed). But I had two big suitcases, so this was problematic! If there was a note saying ”those with a coronavirus pass to show, come to reception, it would be much easier. Finally, I was woken up by noisy doors - mainly from the housekeeper/s. This wasn't so much their fault, but the fault of the doors. However, I did sleep well all night until that time! If the doors could be ”soft close”, it would be much better :) Otherwise, really, it's a great place - and I would have rated it 4.5/5 or 9/10 (based on my overall experience) if TripAdvisor allowed it!

|6.81km from city centerVery basic hotel. The floor we stayed on smelt like dogs (a lot of dogs). Needs some updating. It was hot when we stayed and had to keep windows shut at night as road noise is terrible (no aircon). Checking in took ages. Breakfast like most Estonian hotels was chaos but a good choice. It was expensive for what it is, i have stayed in better and cheaper in old town.

|1.02km from city centerWe had reservation for superior room for three person and realised at the hotell, that the room, apart from having a stunning view to Old town, was quite small for three adult size persons (me and my teens aged 13 and 15). Receptionist was kind to uprade us to family room with a small extra payment, even though we have made reservation via Tallink, and the room was just perfect. Service was super good and location of the hotell is perfect, just outside of Old town and next to Balti Jama Turg.

|1.23km from city centerThe surrounding environment is quiet. The hotel is not far from the urban area. On the way back to the hotel from the ferry pier, I went to the old city wall of Sweden, which took about 40 minutes. The breakfast is very rich. This hotel is worth living in again.

|0.58km from city centerA great hotel with a beautiful location in the center. There is a spacious interior courtyard and a recreation area. The breakfast was very dense and delicious. Clean room 10 out of 10, no complaints. There was also a big TV, although I don 't need it, a small refrigerator and a safe.
I will definitely return here when I am in Tallinn.

|1.2km from city centerThe choice to upgrade the room to one with air conditioning was the right choice, since there was a heatwave in Tallinn during our stay. The room was very roomy and quiet, too. The staff at the lobby bar were helpful and ready even to prepare a whiskey sour for us, even though it is not the most typical drinks choice. All in all, very very comfortable!

Tallinn
|0.91km from city centerThe rooms are comfortable and clean. They have everything you need. The owners are willing to help or answer questions at any time. There is a great breakfast with a lot of variety, but it is the same every day. The only reason that I did not give it 5 stars is because someone older may have trouble with the stairs and taking luggage up and down. I did not have any problems and loved the black out curtains since there are so few hours of darkness in the summer. I stayed here for several days, and the women who clean work very hard. They wash the hotel out from top to bottom and even the outside stairs every day. This is not your American Hilton, but even though it is an older hotel, the family does their best to keep the hotel nice. Make sure breakfast is included in your rate.

|2.97km from city centerThis if former ”Ulemiste hotel”, recently rebranded to ”Mercure”. If not mistaking, some period during and post-covid it was not functioning. From interior/exterior point of view nothing much changed, even colours and furniture remained original from previous hotel. Food quality during breakfast slightly improved, didn't try restaurant onsite, but must say bar doesn't have draught beer, only bottled. Bed was comfortable, sound insulation reasonable. The only downside - permanently changing temperature of water from hot to cold. Parking free for hotel guests. 100m from hotel - large ”Ulemiste” shopping mall with many shops and places to eat. Overall would recomend, if you don't desperatelly want to stay in old city. Myself would stay if price offer is attractive only.

Tallinn
|1.21km from city centerVery ice and cozy place to stay. Rooms are really small, probably more suitable for one person not a couple. Everything modern and comfortable, very nice and modern bathroom, only their mattress was too tough (not American style, ha-ha). They have a very nice lobby with bar and a restaurant . Really close to everything: 2 min drive from bus station, 5-7 from airport, less than 10 min walk to the old city. What I didn't like: staff charged me for an early check-in almost the same what I paid for one day. And I had problem with charging my phone, the socket didn't work or maybe I didn't understand how to use it, it was more complicated than just insert you charger into socket)))) But anyway this hotel is certanly much better than you expect from economy for less than 40 euro per night. If you travel to/from Tallinn by bus or air and want to be closer to bus station/airport, if you're solo traveler or couple but need hotel for 1-2 nights and don't have much luggage, I highly recommend this place

|0.95km from city centerThe hotel is enclosed in a glass ”box” so some of the rooms don't have direct view to the street. It was one of the few hotels that offered the possibility to check-in late, therefore it was perfect for our night arrival. The room was cozy and spacious with lots of storage for personal belongings, a desk and a minibar. It was like promised in the pictures and had comfortable mattress, international TV channels, kettle and refreshments. The bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, body wash and even a bottle opener! The breakfast was good with reasonable selection.

Small fridge in reception with beer, juices. No other bar area. Rooms spacious and comfy bed, air con wasn’t available, maybe not working. Bathroom facilities good. Very clean. Mini bar in room but nothing to make a hot drink. Location was great, 7 min walk to restaurants and pubs. Great building, very nice decor throughout.

There are a lot of stairs up to the rooms if you're staying on the 5th floor or higher. It may be difficult to climb up. And we didn't like the food and the service at the restaurant next door.

Tallinn
|0.49km from city centerWe stayed at this accommodation for 3 nights last weekend and we were so happy with our decision to stay here. It is in an excellent position in the old town , the rooms are of an excellent size and the place was spotlessly clean. We stayed in no1 which came with its own sauna which was very useful after walking around the city in minus degree temperatures. Access to the location is a straightforward enough procedure , you are sent a code prior to arrival for the main outside doors and then instructions for the key lockers on the wall to retrieve the key for your apartment. You leave the keys when you depart in the same key lockers. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in the old town in Tallinn then you should really take a look at staying here as it is very hard to beat. If you do decide to stay here then take the no4 tram from the airport and alight at Viru and the accommodation is literally 5 mins walk from the tram stop. You can purchase a travel card from the Rkiosk as you leave the airport , you pay €2 for the plastic travel card and can add 1 day/3 day/7days worth of money on it & you just tap them on the machine reader as you enter the tram doors , 3 days costs €7.50 and you can make as many tram or bus trips as you like

Tallinn
|0.42km from city centerThe hotel claims to be a ”boutique hotel” but what it really end up being is old, shoddily maintained and badly run. From the bad sewage smell in the bathroom (possibly caused my the mold which is literally everywhere) to the chipped paint, musty carpets and terrible beds to the lackluster breakfast room, broken-down elevator and airco which will not switch on, everything reeks of neglect. The noise from the bars and clubs goes on and on until at least 3 AM and is so intrusive sleep becomes a bad dream in itself (even if the rickety mattress would allow sleep to begin with). Breakfast is really a disgrace with uninterested staff who won't even talk to you and are merely there to take away dirty dishes. Let's not talk about the ”scrambled egg” which is really powdered egg cake, the stale old bread which is put out daily to the soft and hard boiled eggs which are stone-cold (probably set out the night before. A true health hazard. In my room, the toilet seat was broken (rapaired only after two days of complaining), there were no coffee or tea facilities in the room, lighting in the bathroom insufficient to shave and reading lights next to the bed...insufficiently bright to read by. TV had only a few channels, no cable at all. All floor are wood and creak terribly but the walls are not soundproofed either so if the neighbors next to you or above you decide to have a go at it, you might as well be in bed with them - you hear every groan and squeek! Checkout at 5:15 AM was a drama, there was a sign on the reception ”be right back” and of course nobody came for at least 20 minutes. Gone breakfast to go, gone taxi to the airport or even a simple quick coffee.

|0.1km from city centerReally relaxing experience. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with a fridge, tube and ”a living room”. No loud noises and really peaceful to sleep. Hotel's location is excellent and small spa is a nice extra. We have stayed here many times before but not in this kind of new and fancy room. Breakfast was really good but some really young servants were maybe a little too eager to pick up the dishes and it was too funny to follow the customers holding up their plates while eating to not to loose them. Must be some compatition or bonuses coming :)

|0.67km from city centerMy wife and I are perennial European city tourists, and over time, we've learned to stay in the historic center of whatever city we've decided to explore. I do not believe that for people on a vacation stay like us, there is currently a better place to stay, available at anything close to a reasonable price, in the city Talinn. The hotel is is a European Hotelstar 4-star rated hotel pushing hard for a 5-star rating. The staff from reception to housekeeping is excellent and highly capable, the breakfast spread is really something special, the rooms are spacious and quiet, and I am really hard pressed to find a negative. I can unhesitatingly recommend this place to other travelers. Check out my other reviews. See if I've said the same things about other places. Then make your decisions about booking your stay. You won't be disappointed.

Tallinn
|0.24km from city centerThis hotel opened last autumn after a complete renovation. Now it is a stylish city hotel, centrally located next to Viru Center. There came an affordable package offer where two nights in the best Sauna Suite and the ferry tickets were together 384 euros. If bought separately, the ferry tickets would have been 4 x 25 euros and the Sauna Suite 2 x 246 euros (Club One offer) or 2 x 294 euros (normal flexible rate including breakfast). Now we paid only 142 euros per night for the suite. We have stayed in October 2016 in the same suite. Only the bathroom furniture including the bathtub was the same. Everything else had been replaced. The decor was stylish. The living room felt much bigger now. There were two small things but they felt quite irritating. I had to connect to the room wifi at least ten times with my Windows laptop. My partner with an iPad had to do that only once. Also, the Finnish TV channel YLE1 lost its signal every 10 minutes for a couple of minutes and then came back. The breakfast was good. The food selection was quite wide. The juices were far too sugary. The staff was very friendly, especially in the reception and in the lobby bar. One thing that was quite special and probably not to everyone's taste was the staircase that acted as a gym.

|0.47km from city centerPros and cons. + It is CHEAP and new! (Book via hotel's web page to get a better deal.) + Good location, not far from harbor or true center. Shopping mall 300m with shops, pharmacy, restaurants, super market... + Good wifi. + Small kitchenette with new pans, plates, knives... micro, fridge, inductio cooker, electric kettle... Can cook basic meals. + Soap and shampoo, hair dryer... 3 towels (shower, hands, floor) + Comfy bed. + Room size was good enough, also bathroom. + Clean room. Friendly cleaner lady. + Materials were not the cheapest... + There's a lift! + Easy check in / out. - Located in a shady back alley, you maybe need to search it for a while... eyes open :) - Reception closes 21.00 - Heating was not on in early September, outside +9'C. Also did not get hot water. Only warm. - No aircon. - Views from room little bit depressing :) Overall value 4/5. Very good deal!!! Highly recommended.

It is also close to the old city attractions and must-see restaurants (olde hansa and peppersack) to experience European food in the Middle Ages. It takes only 2 minutes to walk from the hotel. The Christmas market is also very close, 3 minutes away. Sincerely recommend! just! 👍🏻

Kadriorg
Tallinn
|1.24km from city centerVilla Kadriorg is a budget friendly hostel/hotel that is on a direct bus route to the old town. If not for major upgrade works to the tram network then I believe it would also be on the tram line.
I found my room comfy enough, if a little warm. It was a very warm few days in Tallinn though. Sadly, my room was right above a bar playing music until past 10pm. If you needed an early night to catch transport then that might be a problem.
There's free WiFi and a small shared kitchen. The shared showers were a little grubby, but I suspect that is to be expected. There was also a bit of noise from some of the younger guests after 10.
Sounds like I had a miserable stay but that is not so. Just be aware that the price will attract youngsters.
I'd say that Villa Kadriorg is good value for money and a fine place to rest a weary head after a long day walking around beautiful Tallinn.
