I stayed two nights in a six bed mixed dorm, which actually really looks like it is shown on the pictures, for those who are as sceptical as I was when I saw those photos. It had a bathroom inside of the dorm, containing a toilet and a shower (massive and with a comfortably large rain shower), and a wash basin inside of the room for everyone accessible even when the bathroom was occupied. There also were two more bathrooms on the same floor outside of the room. The location of the hostel is right in the area of "Sternschanze" with U/S Sternschanze a two minute walk and the area around U St. Pauli a ten minute walk away. It is comfortably quiet at night, the beds are really comfy and thanks to the curtains for every bed, it's possible to sleep through the night even if your roomies come back later at night and need the light. Everything was nicely clean and in order. This hostel does coest a bit more than the average one in that area but as it almost resembles a hotel, that is a fair price in my opinion. I would definitely stay there again.

Everything is different at the moment because of CORONA... We chose this hotel because it was one of few hotels that had opened the pool area. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed it very much. The spa area was closed but the spa pool was really nice /quiet and relaxing. It was nice to swim outside. It was heated. The spa area lokkede really nice as we walked through it. The fitness classes were all fully booked - but I was lucky to get a spot from the waiting list. The yoga was good. ( We didn't know we had to book in advance from home which would have given us more options of different fitness classes) next time we will do that. The gym is really nice. The garden around the hotel is beautiful. The breakfast was at the lobby and it tasted really good. A clean and nice hotel where you can relax and be active. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. There are a lot of great restaurants walking distance from the hotel. And the bus is easy to use - bus stop right outside the hotel. We enjoyed this calm and stress-free hotel... It might be different after corona. Maybe we'll take the kids next time. They can play soccer and much more...

First of all: The hotel is clean, with smart details and has a very friendly staff. Big good beds with two pillows. We had a very big room for this category and at normal it is a great place to stay. But: 1. The Hotel is located in the middle of nowehre. No Infastructure or bars. You can drive only via bus to the next U-Tube. Time: 45 minutes to downtown. Hotel-Bar is closing at 11 p.m. (OK, we know that and had a car - 15 minutes drive - no negative points from me) 2. Come ahead with the car: parking lots are rare - have luck if you catch one. (-MINUS) 3. A loudly Shisha-Bar is near and the guys are feeling in the evening great: Pimped BWMs are running down the street loudly. (-Minus) And at the other end you have emergency station. Fortune for a well sleep. (-Minus) 4. Breakfast: Be careful - breakfast on weekend is much more expensive than during the week - but it does not really distinguish to the "normal" breakfast. Difference 3 Euro - okay - you have salmon? Bad. Breakfast under the week is only available UNTILL 09:00 a.m. (- BAD minus) 5. The biggest mistake is the breakfast over all: We have been waiting for bread, O-Juice and eggs for over 20 minutes. The filling service is not very fast. Coffee could be better. (-minus) 6. Breakfast 2nd: Fruíts are served - also big plates with serveral dishes (Cheese, Salami, etc.) are served (-Positive) 7: Room-Sevice does not make up our rooms at the first day. Conclusion: It is a good hotel. You have some negative parts, that can be solved very soon. Perhaps we see us again and you you will get 4 Points.

Well aware of what to expect from an Ibis, I decided to give this section of the Ibis selection a chance by staying a bit detached from downtown Hamburg but not that far; one is at the heart of the city in no time, tube station U3 Hamburger Strasse is no 5min away on foot! The aera is purely residential, extremely quiet, really away from the hussle and bussle, perfect for families; in the surroundings one finds supermarkets, coffee shops, small restaurantes, a petrol stations and one shopping mall, the famous Hamburger Meile! The concept of style differs depending on the location, the idea is to adapt to the area and make basic special: if that is the target, they did succeed in this ibis Style branch, although it could definitely cost a little less for not being that central... Similar standards found in any Ibis around the world can be expected there, though I got amazed at how large the room was, compared to a usual tiny Ibis size! There is no wardrobe in the room, the floor is carpeted, I couldn't find where to control the temperature and the worktable is too small for an adult; some furniture is already a bit tired and scratched, bathroom is all right but towels are reaching their due lifetime... Breakfast is rather basic but you really won't miss anything there; bread is fresch but juice isn't and only scrambled eggs are the warm options. But bear in mind it is an Ibis anyway and the the hotel lays between two supermarkets, if you miss something! It's a place to bear in mind for short stays in the future but management should really see into price, for it should really cost much less given its location and what it offers - thumbs-up, though, anyway!

Breakfast is very good. The chef orders it now: omelet, shredded cheese, vegetables, mushrooms, etc. It's great. Other kinds of bread, fresh juice coffee tea. Meat has sausages, bacon. Peach apple, cantaloupe, pineapple and other fruits, a kind of Danone fruit yoghurt. All in all, including early value

We stayed 4 nights in this excellent resort. It was very quiet and our room had plenty of space. Our bed was good and comfortable and as it is a fairly new resort everything was really well kept, very clean and everything was of high quality. The bathroom was very nice and large enough for 2 persons. It is near the main station and within a short walking distance of the main areas such as Rathaus, Jungfernsteg, Speicherstadt etc. and the main shopping streets. We had a cooking facility, but we only had breakfast as there are so many good restaurants in Hamburg. A delight was being able to drink Nespresso coffee as there is a machine in every room. When we come back to Hamburg we know where we will stay. The staff at the reception were very helpful when we had questions.

Very reasonable hotel. Basic but perfectly adequate for the trip at hand. The buffet breakfast was well worth the €12. The bar was an excellent place to start the festivities. Staff were top notch and very helpful. As others have said though it is noisy. A busy street opposite a police station. What would you expect? Take earplugs. All will be good.

I’ve stayed at 25hours in Zurich which was great so was keen to try another. Set in an old building in Hafencity with a seafaring theme. We had a room on the top floor which was a mission to find/ get to but as an old building this can be excused. The room was large with some nice touches. Some lovely herbal teas to choose from. Large comfortable bed. If I’m being very picky there were some very minor negative points about the room though - it was quite on the dark side though even with the lights on; no real space to hang up bulky coats; could have done with two large pillows and I don’t think the room was as quirky and fun as the one in Zurich. The Boilerman Bar on the ground floor is great! Really nice cocktails and great service. Popular too so suggest getting there early to bag a table. Food was great too. Location was great for us - there was a u-bahn station at the end of the road. Speicherstadt is also close by and everything else is within walking distance. The great thing about Hamburg is the electric scooters you can hire and leave, which is great for getting around the city.

We enjoyed our stay at Premier Inn and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend our stay to others! This clean, contemporary and fresh hotel is in a perfect location between the main stopping district near the Rathaus and the riverside area (approximately a 10 minute walk to each). It sits right on the main road Willy-Brant Strasse, and you can walk to the Reeperbahn area in about 30 minutes along the straight road. It is about a 15-20 minute walk from the central train station (Hauptbahnhof). There is a bar and Costa Coffee within the hotel; the bar has a selection of board games if you’re inclined to play as a way to pass the time. There is a secure luggage area where you can leave your bags upon checkout and the reception staff were extremely pleasant. Despite being right on the main arterial route, you couldn’t hear the traffic within the room due to the fantastic glazed windows. It was very peaceful at nighttime; we had an undisturbed sleep for our entire stay. Our standard room was a decent size and very clean. There was a double duvet as opposed to two singles which you normally see in European city hotels! The bed was very comfortable and we had a great sleep. The shower was large with a rainforest shower head and squeaky clean. We really enjoyed our stay as we had a peaceful sleep and no issues whatsoever.

The hotel is in a central location and close to trains, buses, shops and restaurants. It looked very clean and felt safe during Covid, in fact the maid gave me a very dirty look when I opened my room door without wearing a mask (which I appreciated, thanks for the reminder). It was very hot in Hamburg when I went. Unfortunately, due to the location next to the Quarree shopping centre and especially Mc Donalds, there were a lot of people still outside at 1 o'clock in the morning, some drunk, and I couldn't sleep with the windows open. However I guess that's the price you pay for being central. I wouldn't think that it's a big problem during most of the year.

Good, clean room. Comfortable bed. Tasty breakfast. Clean bathroom. Close to shops and a short walk to the city centre. Free parking is available along Glacischaussee Street - a few minutes' walk from Hotel Imperial. Our room appeared to have a slightly faulty window. As a result, the window was not as soundproof as it should have been, and some street noise was present, and thermal insulation was also compromised, but this did not impact too negatively on our stay.

Such a cool hotel, perfect for seeing Hamburg, the hotel has a nautical Captain Nemo nautical vibe, no wonder as it’s located right in the middle of Hafencity and so handy for all the places you need to see. There’s loads of great bars and restaurants close by and a big car park on the opposite side of the road, (there’s even a Hydrongen fuel cel charging station just down the road, how cool was that!) My room was perfect for me and had a nice selection of La Bottega soaps and toiletries and facing the rear of the building was super quiet The lady running breakfast checkin deserves special praise as she was super helpful and despite their being a fire alarm one morning, the staff were friendly and efficient I will definitely return, thanks to the Pierdrei team

The hotel resembles the hotels in London - being a part of a large residential block in a very luxury district in Hamburg. White 4-storey building with very large windows in a very quiet location again largely resembles such London areas as St John's Wood or Maida Vale. The decor refers to the old times, the room (a double room in my case) was good size, and can be heated very quickly. Unexpectedly - very good shampoo and body lotion in the standard amenities set. Sound insulation and heavy non-transparent curtains provided a really good-night sleep. The breakfast is very nice - large and very good quality variety of breads, pastries, fruits, cheese. Really - the breakfast is what a breakfast much be. Excellent location - close to 2 tube stations (3-4 minutes walk), 20-25 minutes to the airport (from Klosternetz), 10-15 minutes to the city centre (from Eppendorf Baum), 7 minutes walk to Alster, 2 definitely must-visit restaurants in 2 minutes walk. My only discomfort was a non-stable Internet connection at all times. Will stay again while in Hamburg!

We stayed here for 5 nights in December. Our room was modern and lovely, and faced the street. My father was next to us, and I could never him running water, etc, so the rooms are very quiet and private. The hotel is 3 minutes from the bus stops, and there is a new bus line, the #17, that takes you to Central Station in less time than the train. The train station is about 8 minutes away. There are several restaurants, bars and large grocery store nearby. The grocery store has a bakery in it, and it's very good. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel. We would definitely stay here again!

Calling this place a “hotel” is a stretch, think of it more like a BnB. Good: - Bluetooth speaker - Many power outlets with USB plug in - Very comfy bed and pillows - Clean bathrooms with shower water that turns on at the right temperature immediately - Drying rack - Ok room size, probably a tight squeeze with two people. - Quirky decor. Generally clean throughout although hallway did have a bit of a strange smell almost like construction smell—not putrid but just strange. - Location close to S-bahn (5 min walk), and a small strip of shops. Only 4 stops to Hamburg Central station, and on same line that takes you to the airport. Cons: No in-room refrigerator; no tea making facilities; no in-room complimentary water; no laundry service; no phone in room to call reception; no bath robe or slippers; no instructions on how to use AC and it seemed to reset itself in the middle of the night; no notepads; no lotion or facial tissues provided; WiFi is not secure; Uninspiring breakfast especially at 12.50 Euros—you can get better value for money from the restaurants along the market street. Had a problem with the free drink coupon system: I’d leave the sign up on my door for no cleaning but the cleaner would forget to leave the coupon so I had to go downstairs to reception to explain and get the free drink. Also note that the you can only redeem it for a beer, soft drink or coffee/tea—it would be nice to have option for a wine for those of us who don’t drink beer. Given how expensive accommodation this close to the city is in Hamburg, it is a fair price for what you get.

Great, new, small, three-star hotel, with very central location on Reeperbahn. Very near to S Bahn station “Reeperbahn”. Ideal for a short stay. The entrance is as a normal stairway, at first floor one reaches the small reception. Wonderful, super friendly personnel. With your room key, you will be able to enter the hotel entrance door as well. Don’t forget to lock from inside when you are in the room, or when you leave, as doors do not lock themselves automatically. Small, fresh, simply decorated and furnished rooms, which though have all one needs for a short stay. Small open wardrobe with some hangers, safe. All is in one room, also shower, sink and toilet, for which reason it may not be ideal for a couple. There is a hair, and a towel dryer. Two simple shower gel/Shampoo. All, more than fine, for a three-star category hotel. To note, at the sink, hot water is right, and one gets cold water, by pulling left. Shower is a “Hans Grohe”, new button water system shower. They are good, as long as, technique works. Philips flat screen TV with mostly German channels, however, assumingly, most visitors are not staying along Reeperbahn for watching TV. Several Electric socket (EU Standard). Ok Wifi. Stairs, no lift. Not ideal for disable, or anyone who has difficulties with walking stairs. Clean.

Never been to Hamburg before; read reviews for this hotel and took it. The short walk from the U-bahn I had a few doubts... lots of gratiffi etc (I'm not a prude, but thought maybe I'd made a bit of a "too colorful" choice). Got to the hotel and it was great. Newly remodeled, very clean and modern. The desk manager was absolutely the best and most friendly I have ever run in to, even at 5-star hotels. She volunteered info, maps, umbrella etc, gave hints for where to walk close in the neighborhood to find shops and supplies. Room was wonderful. Good new bathroom, great shower. Good quality towels and shampoo. Breakfast buffet was top notch. There were the typical pan of eggs and sausage, but then tons of other high quality food. Multiple cheeses [real cheese, not just slices]. Lox and 3 other fish items. Excellent deviled eggs, each day had different toppings. Will definitely stay here again.

Hotel Buderpester Hof is a great hotel, fantastic location for all the events we attended. The Hamburg Soul Weekender. What a great weekend. It was only a 5 minute walk from St Pauli Underground/metro station. It only rained on the Friday and the remaining part of the week end was sunny. That helps when we go to the Soul events we had to attend. A trip on the river Elbe on Sunday afternoon dancing to Soul music and drinking good beers what a great day we had. I stayed for seven nights at the Ibis St Pauli Messe from 30th May to 6th June 2019. Although the hotel's reception area was in the middle of refurbishment, the friendliness and helpfulness of the reception staff meant that this did not impact on the pleasure of my stay in any way. My room was basic but very clean as were the en suite facilities. Breakfast was of a high standard and the staff courteous and helpful. The hotel is close to St Pauli Messe U and thus the city centre and other areas are easily accessible. There are good restaurants in the vicinity. My only complain would be that the room did not have a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities. I know this was made clear before I arrived, but it would have made a big difference to my stay to have made myself a cup of tea on waking and on returning to the hotel at the end of the day. The Holiday Inn Express hotel opposite, which is of a similar standard, did provide such facilities. This apart, I would recommend heartily recommend this hotel as a Hamburg touring base.

This is a pleasant, clean and comfortable three star hotel. The room had a quirky design. The bathroom was roomy. The room furniture formed a kind of arch over the room entrance and was well enhansed with space creating mirror panels. It contained the refrigerator, the safe, the tea/coffee and mini bar, storage and hanging. The desk/table doubled as a bedhead. The room was made up for two when i arrived but one is the most this room can accommodate. The staff were helpful with prepared information on transport, restaurants etc. Well done! A nice touch was the bowl of lebkucken on the front desk. This hotel punches above its weight. I would recommend it.

Hotel Baseler Hof is located very centrally (right next to the beautiful Alsterbecken, can't get any more central in Hamburg). Yet, the place is quiet and has lots of (Swiss-style) character. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We were actually surprised by the quality of our rooms - very clean, practical (plenty of power outlets, safe, storage spaces, lights, lockable drawer), stylish and comfortable. The price was very competitive for the area. One great perk: every guest gets a free three day transit pass for the city.
