We have stayed at this Premier Inn many times in the past and its always been a comfortable stay, quiet rooms and friendly staff. The room was fine apart from only having one towel between two people and 1 single pillow each. We requested another towel and additional pillows which were brought to us without issue. The major problem in the room was the heating/cooling system, the room was so warm we couldn't physically stay in it for a prolonged period of time, 4th floor so unable to open any window. When advising the staff of this we were told the temprature of the rooms was being controlled by the main system downstairs, meaning we couldn't alter the room temp without having to contact reception which was just ridiculous, Four occasions over three days we had to request for the temperature to be changed, why on earth they are not letting customers control the temperature of the room is beyond me, the only reason I can think of is cost cutting, it costs money to heat and cool rooms I suppose. All in all it tainted the stay which is a shame as the hotel as a whole is spot on usually.

This was my first stay at this Hotel and overall it really was very nice and i would stay here again. The staff all around was warm, friendly, helpful. The hotel is small which i like, with very comfortable beds and linens. Service was great all around. But The Internet Is so slow. It is a more quiet property, so if you are looking for a vibey/party type of hotel, I would suggest staying elsewhere.

Had no sleep at this hotel. Firstly, the fire alarm went off which got us out of bed (understandable this cannot be helped), got back into bed and think time to settle down..wrong! Noiseeeee alllll night. Our bed was literally moving with the banging around from upstairs and next door. Sounds like a party going on. Past midnight so I called reception to ask if we can move rooms to be told the police are at the hotel. Why? They are trying to break up the parties! We spent hours listening to rowdiness, arguing, cheering, general drunk nuisance. This went on until at least 330am. Saw police escorting kids out of the hotel. Next morning the receptionist tells us over 30 people were escorted from the hotel. Appreciate the staff called the police to deal with this but how did that many people get into the hotel when they shouldn't have been and they're not all booked in? Also the receptionist said 'this happens every weekend', well had we known this we wouldn't have bothered!!! Noise aside, the hotel was get what you pay for. Weird how we couldn't lock the bathroom door, it was a sliding door which you can see shadows through and doesnt really shut properly like a regular door. Also bathroom smelt like wee. Also no coat hooks on the wall and no wardrobe. Its not much to just stick a couple coat hooks on the wall. Where are you supposed to put wet coats? On the chair or bed? Bed was not comfy like they usually are. Fair enough they said we could have a refund. This was appreciated as it covered our parking fees. Appears to be a new hotel that is cheaply made, hence being able to hear EVERYTHING.

This time I came to Derby for business trip, as always, I chose the Holiday Riverlight Hotel, which is located directly opposite the Westfield Shopping Centre. This location is absolutely perfect for both traveling and shopping. WESTFIELD Shopping Plaza can buy everything. You can arrive and start shopping spree, the attitude of the hotel staff is very enthusiastic, we have come back late than the check-out time, we said to the waiter at the front desk for free and delayed for a long time, next time you come to Derby will definitely give priority Choose here, the hotel facilities are also very new, highly recommended.

What can I say about this hotel. Firstly, upon checking in, I had to make a phone call to the duty manager to come check me in as he had left the reception to go do a job on another floor. I can understand that they have a skeleton team working there but I think it’s a little unprofessional that there was no member of the team on the ground floor for any of the guests. Within 4 minutes the manager came out of the lift and checked me in. As I was heading to my room on the fourth floor, one of the maids noticed I was struggling to get through the door with my luggage and gave me a hand. It was very nice of her to help me and she was very polite. The room it self was ok. It had a nice view of the cricket ground but compared to other hotels within the area and price bracket. I have stayed with a premier inn in the local area on a previous trip which offers a better sized room, wardrobe space, bigger and better bathroom plus a better quality of tv in the room. The shower in the bathroom seems to have weak power compared to other hotels shower system. I did try to bring this up at reception but yet again there was no member of staff on the desk and didn’t want to wait around for a staff member to just log it. On the Tuesday evening, I wanted to get some cash out of a ATM and I went to ask at the front dest. The lady behind the dest was sitting there chatting to someone on her mobile phone and when noticed I was waiting to ask where the local ATM was told who ever she was on the phone with “hold on I got somebody to serve”. I got no apology from the young lady. She only knew of one local one which charged for service. I thought her behaviour was a little rude. Throughout my trip, the heating in the room was not efficient. Would set it to highest setting yet would only warm the room instead of properly heat the room up like needed during the cold nights. I had to leave the heating on 24/07 just to keep the room warm for me. The machine in the lobby was not stocked with drinks and a couple of the snacks were stuck. Not sure why it had not been topped up and sorted on a regular bases. The hotel could be great if travelodge looked at the competition in local area and what they offer for the same price.

I'm always made to feel very welcome at Grundys Tavern & The Georgian House Hotel. The management & staff are always helpful & friendly. As I too was a guest on Saturday 22nd February ... I feel I need to write a review to give another perspective (to previous review)& also point out There was 'No Fire' & 'No danger to life'. The only thing that needed to be controlled & reset was the fire alarm. It was unfortunate that the staff on the night didn't know how to do this. The manager was called & he was on his way. Yet one of the guests took it upon themselves to dial 999 but they still it would seem, that them & other guests opted to stay inside the hotel rather than stand out in the cold & rain at the fire assembly point, but then complained to the fire brigade that they (the guests) shouldn't be here & that they hadn't been asked to evacuate the building 🤔??? As you can see from attached photo the fire assembly point is in fact in the car park & these notices are in every room of the hotel. At this point I did point this out to them. I am right in thinking that the guests are responsible for familiarising themselves with the evacuation procedures & escape routes & getting themselves & any others in their charge to safety of the fire assembly point. Whenever you're staying in a unfamiliar place it's one of the first things you do 🤔(I'm sure & I hope, if there was a actual fire, that guests would have made there way to the assembly point without needing to be asked or told to do so) as I'm also sure the staff on the night would have asked & directed guests to safety .... I very much doubt that the guests on the night in question would have appreciated being asked to leave & stand in the car park in the cold & rain when it was quite clear there was no fire!!! I would also like to point out that the manager didn't get aggressive when questioned about fire procedures, (as stated in previous review) he merely asked why the guest hadn't left the building then, why was he there? The manager had the guest log & asked the guest in question his room number & the guest replied "I don't need to tell you that" when the manager pointed out that he did need to tell him so he could account for him he did reluctantly tell him. I stay over quite regularly, most of the guests on this particular evening were fine, a bit disgruntled understandably due to the events, but generally ok, but others were very rude to the bar staff & manager.

I stayed here the night before my wedding at the nearby West Mill in the upstairs stables room and from the get go they were so accommodating to our needs. From letting us have flowera delivered to them to using the bar room for the hairdresser to do the bridesmaids hair the following morning and just generally really looking after us. My husband(!) and I then stayed there the following two nights and they cleared up the whole room from the mornings getting ready antics, brought us breakfast in bed and really looked after us. Zoe and the whole team were so caring, friendly and welcoming. We couldn't have wished for a better place to stay over our wedding weekend and would 100% recommend to any other brides to be/newlyweds!

Opposite is Derby Railway Station, if the train is more convenient. Less than ten minutes walk from Derby Mall, convenient location. There is a restaurant next to it, and there is a burger at the train station. The reserved twin room has very little space. Because it is an old building, it seems that it can not be decorated too much, which is worse.

We stay here quite often as it is local to our family member who lives in Derby. This time we stayed here as we were visiting Alton Towers so the location was perfect for Alton Towers and visiting family. The rooms are spot on for what we need, Tyra who checked us in was very friendly and managed to get us two rooms together even though we booked at separate times. The food next door is perfect pub grub and the breakfasts are hot and plentiful with a good selection of continental items. Overall this premier inn is in perfect location for us and the rooms are comfortable enough with plenty of space.

Booked in for a night as my usual haunt was not available short notice due to an event in Derby. Started going wrong with the room allocated, ground floor with the window right next to an outside pathway. Couldn't open the window due to noise of people passing outside. Room upstairs, the people staying had hobnail boots on, didn't understand the concept of walking without making a noise and this was right up to gone 11pm. Room was clean and tidy and unlike some places I've stayed at, there was plenty of light which allowed me to get on with paperwork without struggling in dim light. Breakfast was OK, but no decaff coffee offering on the vending machine which was a pain as caffeine gives me an upset stomach. Overall OK for a couple of nights but make sure you get a quiet room away from the maddening crowd.

What can I say to be positive about this visit of hotel stay and park. The hotel was not bad the directions to the hotel...review it.... please as they could be simpler? The parking at Eastmidlands Airport I would say it was a good deal yes! and no! We got in ok but on return from our holiday a que was forming as it would not let us all out despite the usual coin inserted in the machine.. To be honest it would have been a decent hotel except for the banging and sheer noise in the hotel all night long... it did not provide a good start to the holiday ...you could find everything you needed at the hotel except sleep and in the end we gave up and went to the airport. We did tell the reception staff but they could offer no help...not good really... I had asked for a ground floor room and they provided this I must say!! Just really disappointed on the whole and not an experience I ever want to repeat again !!

Popped in for a drink to meet a work colleague for catch-up. As a weeknight thought it would be quiet and fairly risk free. It wasn't that busy but I was concerned at the lack of PPE worn by the staff (understand it's optional, but enforce it!) and there were several tables that hadn't been cleared - I thought they were supposed to be on top of the cleaning straight away! Not much social distancing going on either. I've been here a couple of times before and always found it clean and pretty good food. I didn't eat this time but with the somewhat realxed attitude to Covid here, glad I didn't this time. A real shame as I recommended this place to people, but just don't feel good about the place now, hopefully they'll step things up on the precaution front.

This morning our team had arranged a surprise 50th birthday celebration for 2 of our team members. We wanted something local but needed a venue that could cater for a bit more of an occasion. We chose the Hilton House! ...Credit where it’s due, we were not expecting the presentation to be so good, it was beautifully laid out, the landlady inspected the table with a silver service touch. They had created a menu for us (This event is not one they had done before). We were offered a continental breakfast and then we ordered separately for our cooked breakfast, which was beautifully presented and enjoyed by all. I had forgotten (despite being asked by the venue previously) about dietary requirements and I said there were none!, There infact, was one.. (Whoops), yet this person was still included and a meal prepared for her with no fuss at all. The whole event flowed and was timed wonderfully, each course was served just at the right time, and the tea, coffee and Prosecco was topped up throughout. Admittedly, I had not considered this location for any of our events previously, and, considered it as the locals pub (Nothing wrong with that)... But it is SO much more!! We will absolutely be using them in the future for all types of events, including staff meetings and training. Thank you very much for hosting us and a huge congratulations on how quickly your venue seems to be turning into something that I feel, our village is missing Looking forward to seeing it develop more over the coming years. Love the new garden area too , ill also be back with my family and wont leave it years before visiting again this time.

My husband bought this hotel stay for a gift. It was called a spa break but I would not call this hotel a spa hotel. It has a great pool, steam room and sauna but there aren't many loungers (the ones they have are very comfortable) and are so close to the poolside that if you go when children are allowed in you will get bombed by children. Unfortunately when we stayed there were 2 children chasing around the edge of the pool, jumping in over and over and the parents ignored them (no running signs...no jumping signs ignored). The gym was very adequate and due to the package a treatment was included. The relaxation area is lovely much better than pool side. My facial was nice but the therapist decided to talk at me non stop which was annoying as I'd gone for peace. Dinner and breakfast was also included. Staff were courteous and helpful. The food was fresh and tasty. We opted for one of the breakfast from the freshly prepared menu and it was delicious. Parking was £7 for 24 hours and staff told us we could stay longer when we checked out at 11am. It's a short walk to Stratford so perfect as a base for exploring or shopping.

Been staying at the Victoria Park Hotel for a few nights a week for the past 5 weeks whilst working in Derby. I am sooo confused by these bad reviews and I think a lot are very unfair. I stayed in numerous different rooms on the first floor and all were nice and cleaned everyday! There was a big TV with internet so Netflix and tv players were available. The bathrooms were shared which is something I’m not usually keen on but these were always clean and you never had to wait to go in. As a lone young female it can be a very anxious time staying anywhere away from home but not once did I ever feel unsafe in this hotel. The staff were also very friendly and were always on call if you needed anything. I can’t comment on the breakfast because I never gave myself enough time to eat in the morning, however I wish I did because it smelt great!! I always took a hot drink to go though and they also offer takeaway breakfasts but like I say I just didn’t have time! £40 a night for a double room with breakfast I don’t see how anyone can moan! This hotel is also in a good location, around 20 min walk from the station / centre and also around 25 mins walk to the hospital. The bus to both literally stops right outside too and a taxi is around £5. Will definitely consider stopping again if I’m ever around Derby :)

Visited this hotel for the weekend. Overall very pleased with our stay. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room we stayed in was one of the best we have stayed in. In house food was good. No long wait for evening meal, came out hot and tasty. Breakfast was your typical Travelodge fare. Food was hot . Did have a bit of trouble with the toaster with toast falling out the back (even the staff had a job to find the ideal pace for the tray to catch the toast) Other eating places close by and easy to get too. We did have a 20 minute walk from the railway stationing and town centre. Ther was two ways to get to and from them, one by road and the other by a pathway along the river.

Easy to find, we’ll sign posted. Parking was good, not the biggest of car parks but we had no problems in finding a space. On arrival the check-in staff was very helpful. Room was a double, it was beautifully clean and had everything we needed including a bath. Only criticism would be that the room was cold but there was a plug in heater provided which warmed the room very quickly. It seemed quite a small hotel compared to others we’ve stayed in and I was worried about noise but it was so quiet and we slept wonderfully. We ate dinner and breakfast here and both were fantastic, loads of options and the cooked breakfast was cooked to order so very fresh. The reviews of the breakfast are what made me book this hotel,on arrival in the room a card on the bed notified us that breakfast is now continental only unless you pay extra for cooked breakfast,£6.99,we declined and opted for the continental fare which consisted of cereal, croissants, jam and a bowl of seven strawberry yoghurts (warm!!). Wish we had done the one night stay at premier inn with the meal deal, What i can say is the staff are lovely, esprcially our evening waitress called Lek,she was a delight, A young lady showed me to our room and left her bar duties to do so,very nice girl. Lady on breakfast duty in the morning was also lovely. Ok,but wont be back.

Stayed here for business for 2 nights. From initial check in, to dinner, to breakfast and lastly to check out all of staff friendly and chatty, with nothing an issue. Ate one night out of the 2 as not completely sure of whether food was served as website not completely clear. Room a good size and very clean and tidy. Stayed in room 6 which had a big desk so I could work of required. Wifi signal very good and no issues for work or streaming netflix when chilling. Bathroom a good size, with shower toilet etc. Shower in morning took a while to get hot but did and was of good pressure. Comfy bed and plenty big for me on my tod. Dining room cosy with open fire and a drawing room separate for relaxing in, however always sat in dining room as open fire was very welcoming. Dinner choice and quality very good, breakfast choice good, bacon on cooked breakfast was a little overdone but local sausage nice and rest of food very good. Good choice of drinks and loved the Theakston pale. Obviously the location leads to a little noise, however if not bothered by this and a heavy sleeper then this is a lovely hotel. Location is beautiful and the surrounding villages and countryside very nice. Links to local and major roads very convenient.
