What a gem! We wanted to find a spacious suite for our family of four- so choose this bed and breakfast! Would absolutely recommend. Hosts were very friendly and followed social distancing rules. House was spotless and sanitation stations were located in the reception. Very tasty breakfast provided in room. Parking available on the property and everything was very private and safe. will return asap.

The owners/hosts of this B&B are delightful. Breakfast is good and to order. The rooms are small, but adequate. Shower is very small. Internet is marginal and required some work to get the speed needed. Heat in the rooms is limited to a few hours in the morning, however, nice towel warmer when it's on. Overall this is a good value. Great views are part of the experience from the dining area. The location is approx. 15 min. from downtown Derry by car. Recommend parking in one of the Car parks in Derry. One of the best is part of the Foyleside Shopping Centre. It's covered and a great location for seeing the sites of Derry.

This lovely little B&B is way out in the country, with a field full of cows behind and on either side. There is a beautiful view of Derry from the front yard, and views of mountains from the sides and rear. The building is relatively new and is in excellent condition. There is at least one fully handicap-accessible room, including a very comfortable king-sized bed, a roll-in shower and multiple grab-bars. Housekeeping is prompt and thorough, and everyone we spoke with was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are excellent, and the sunny dining room is comfortably appointed. Our hostess was very gracious and helpful, offering excellent advice about places nearby. She even keeps laminated maps by the front door to loan to guests trying to find a nearby restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Groarty House and would happily recommend it to others.

The hotel is a bit dated, but the beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. A certain distance from the city center, suitable for self-driving, convenient parking. There is a Chinese restaurant by the seaside of the cathedral when driving fast. The price is not cheap, but it tastes good. There are Chinese waiters who can help with ordering.

As an entrepreneur I was so impressed by their innovative idea however their not there yet and I wanted to share the potential I see within it to help the owners become all that they are for they could really make a good go of this, the self check in is a genius idea but there is no heart and soul in it, no connection, no love or personal touches and they could make so much more from this If they just put their heart in it, they have the potential to light it up and others with a new sense of light in it, there is obvious neglect in certain areas in the home, random wires and boxes in the hallway, a stained ceiling, ripped wallpaper and a garden that deserves so much more love and attention within it but their is TRUE potential here if they honestly put more work into it and realised this is a business here rather than a hobby to make a few quid of as I really see expansion if they make a full go of it, they could launch these businesses anywhere and go global with it, the world is there oyster if they really believe in it. They could make a full time career if they are willing to put their heart into it. You see we get what we give and so much more needs to be given here, I see love but not enough of it, there needs to be more attention within it. The rooms were very luxurious and I loved the feel of it, if only they could bring this throughout the home it would be greater within it. I loved the little touches like tea and coffee and the towels and the bed and that, I was really appreciate of these small touches within it, I also loved the design of the room and how much heart went into it, of course I just feel more needs to go into it. I just see so much more potential and it’s a shame it’s not reaching it but I hope this review will help the hosts reach it and make positive change within it because you and your guests deserve the best of it and it’s really not there yet. I really feel you will thrive if you make these small changes and I’d be willing to pay double if you made the changes within it because it’s underrated but with these changes you could double it, for it would really be worthy of it as well as adding some personal touches for the guests so they feel loved, held and supported because as a business owner it is our responsibility within it. Wishing you all the best and sending many blessings for the future & hopefully when I come again the changes will be made within it. I say this with love and not with critical for I merely want the world to be the best it can be. Great spot, rural location and amazing potential within it 🤍 I recommend the Pickled Duck cafe for breakfast, if you want to go on the tour across the road, outside the front of the museum, I think you get half price within your ticket. Only five minutes from B and B and McDonald is also only down the road, if your driving.

This is actually a BB, and the free parking lot is just on the side of the road. Open the house by yourself, the boss will email you the house number in advance, and then secretly pick up the key at the door. We just ran into the boss. He saw that we were bringing children. He said that the hotel’s policy does not allow children to be added. Children are counted as heads. Later, we were allowed to live. He said that this would not be the case in the future. He was still talkative and did not add any more. money. The bed in the room is relatively small, the toilet is relatively small, the standard English breakfast. Remember that Derry is built on 7 hills, so it's a great walk downhill but a bit of a struggle back up to Marlborough Street. However, taxis are plentiful and cheap. Serendipity House is charming and furnished in a very modern style, lots of chrome & crystals but with some great touches like bedside sockets with USB's, a decent hairdryer and keyless access to both the building and your room. Breakfast is plentiful and the coffee is great - good COVID measures in place for self service of hot food with tongs given to each table for sole use. We were in Room 1 on the first floor, a double & single bedded room with outstanding views over the walls of Derry and beyond, so it was a great vantage point to take in the views. Two little glitches - it's advertised as having free on-site parking. This is incorrect, it is actually free on-street parking which is a wholly different matter. It's a very safe area and our car was fine. Also, the remote control for the TV was filthy and most definitely hadn't been sanitised pre-arrival.

Clean place, nice modern design with a kitchen where you can prepare your food. Fantastic location with beautiful view of Cathedral. Really close to local shops, friendly host that provide good information about area. Cathedral View has also really nice and quiet backyard where you can relax. New hotel, clean, room lovely with King size bed so comfortable, had the best sleep, very relaxed atmosphere, staff really nice, breakfast great, only issue was on last morning before checking out at 11, housekeeping knocked on door and burst in straight away, my husband was taken aback and said we were just about to check-out, we didn't take housekeeping as we were there for 3 nights, we did mention it to the manager who said he would address it! What a location, what a building and what a welcome! I have heard of being swept off ones feet, but Eilish blew me away with her cheerful welcome. Our faithful satnav had guided us up the hills to this wonderful location overlooking the city, and taken us round a sweeping drive to land up in front of an imposing mansion. It is said everything's big in Texas - well the size of the rooms the stairs the bathroom - perhaps we were in Texas! Still, I digress - we had advice where to go out to eat, we had history lessons and we had a fantastic breakfast to send us on our way. During our week's stay in Ireland this was the best B & B you could wish for. All I can say is get there, enjoy it and swear you will return at the earliest opportunity. Eilish - May the road rise up to greet you...

20min drive out of Derry this B&B really was a hidden gem. It had everything, from a warm welcome, big rooms, cozy bed and a luxury bathroom. The host even offered us Pizza and Popcorn ❤️ The guest info book about Derry and the Coastal Drives proved interesting literature and we really enjoyed the walk in shower. All in all we spend a perfect evening here during our honeymoon. Thank you so much Ruairi and Chris. PS the house is very tastefully decorated with beautiful photographs from Derry and its surrounding. Since we traveled of season the room was also quite cheap.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at the Bishop's Gate Hotel, which is conveniently located just inside the city walls, within easy walking distance to the central sights of Derry/Londonderry. Stephanie at reception, who checked us in, was charming, gracious, cheerful, friendly, full of smiles and very helpful. We liked her very much. Our luxury king room was very quiet and comfortable. We slept well. Although the room was a little small, preventing it from having a dresser to unpack into, our overall comfort was unaffected. We remain very pleased with our choice. The Gown restaurant was superb for both dinner and breakfast. The wait staff made sure that everything was to our satisfaction. Our Sirloin steaks for dinner were perfectly done, the accompanying sauces (we chose the garlic butter and green peppercorn cream) were very tasty, as were the chunky chips and tossed salad. The Apple Tart Tatin and Warm Sticky Toffee Pudding were the perfect finish to a delicious dinner. Breakfast was a continental buffet of cereals, fruits, meats and cheeses, breads and pastries, but also included freshly cooked items made to order. Choices included a spinach, tomato and Brie crêpe, which was phenomenal, as were the pancakes, eggs, porridge, mushrooms, sausage and crispy bacon. Like dinner, these were all perfectly prepared. We were able to indulge ourselves completely in preparation to walk the city walls and tour the sights of Derry/Londonderry.

I would like to say a huge thank you to Sylvia, Jill, Emmett and Gary and all other staff for making our stay a good one. Exceptionally impressed with all the Covid 19 precautions. The staff was amazing. We had some trouble days before our arrival with the credit card security. Plus we got to Derry later than we expected. All our worries about losing the booking all cleared out immediately. The dinner we had at the restaurant he recomended was one of the best of the whole trip. It was 9 p.m. but he walked us to the very front door and thru downtown with a quick but nice guide! Really nice chatting with him and also the next morning during breakfast. It was only one night but would definitely come back. Felt like a friend already!

The turn off to hotel is like driving into a housing estate, but hotel itself is clean and some parts quite modern. The receptionist was friendly but lots of information wasnt shared maybe stick to bullet points of the key information. The food was nice but service slow that was in the big dining room but there was a small pub like a local grubby bar we where sent to and when we walked in instantly felt uncomfortable and left and stood our ground of the bigger dinning room. When you are a resident of the hotel you should be made to feel accommodated. The rooms are clean and tidy but the heating system is controlled at the reception which is quite annoying. There is a small fridge in the room that sounds like a heating system and although its useful it was extremely loud. The bed was slightly uncomfortable it kept dipping at the end and I felt I was going to fall of. The facilities in the where great tea coffee hot chocolate and biscuits. Bathroom clean and equip with shampoos no bath but a good shower ect... the breakfast is served until 10:30 we went at 10:15 and they where not friendly and the food was not at all tasty or fresh it actually turned me and my partner. Checkout was the best part as you get to stay until 12.

Where do I start? First of all, we were met by the owner to be shown our accommodations. Here's a hint, he's not always on premise, so phone ahead. While we were waiting, I popped across the street to the Derry City Credit Union to exchange some money. The timing worked out perfectly! Secondly, the room was great! Clean sheets in a comfortable bed, with a hot shower available. Aces! Thirdly was breakfast. A fine woman named Eli (pronounced Ellie) saw to your morning needs. Coffee, tea, juice, water, and a full Irish breakfast. We were more than set for the day. Of course, if you're just in for eggs and toast, Eli will accommodate. Fourth, location. It's a negligible walk to the Bloody Sunday museum. It's a 3 to 5 minute walk to City Center and the Walls, IF you don't get sucked into one of the local pubs first! The people are so friendly in Derry. Really, the list can go on and on, but nothing that is under the control of the proprietor (i.e. close to some great restaurants for a proper dinner, some "chippies" for a quick bite, or takeaways for a late night snack). There's coffee and tea available at all times, some biscuits (cookies), and water. On street parking is first come basics, but the owner can't control that. There's also a car park in close locality. It's been 9 years since we last stayed here. The updates are amazing. The newly (I'm not sure how new, it's been 9 years) furnished tea room is top notch. I wish we were around for some sessions. I won't book anywhere else in Derry. My future travels will Center around availability here.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights at the start of a 10 day trip down the west coast of Ireland. Beautiful modern renovated building in a very central location with easy access to the main sights. The hotel does not have it's own carpark, and there are no dedicated car parking spots at hotel reception for loading or unloading baggage which may be inconvenient at busy times or in wet weather. Secure car parking is available within 5 minutes walk at £10 per day. We were very disappointed with the room allocated. It was clean and comfortable but no view other than of a wall! My wife had asked for and was assured of a nice room when she made the booking direct with the hotel, but if we had known this at the time, we would not have stayed. We asked if another room was available. The receptionist said she would check but did not return. I had to go down to her in reception where she said they didn't have anything available. She acknowledged our disappointment and said she would make a note for the Manager but we never heard anything from that person. On the plus side, the hotel had thoughtfully left a birthday card and chocolates in the room as it was my birthday. We had dinner one night in the restaurant which was nice, and breakfast there each morning was very tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful and the complementary prosecco offered at breakfast was a nice gesture.

I was due to travel to Derry from London and stay at No 8 this weekend. But the the Horslips gigs (on Sat & Sun) I was due to attend were canceled. I had booked through 'Booking.com' but by the time I found out it was too late to cancel my accommodation which ment I would forfeit the cost of the two nights. I phoned and spoke with Kieran the manager and after I explained my situation he kindly canceled my booking without charge. I did try to rebook with Kieran for December when the Horslips gigs have been rescheduled but unfortunately all his rooms where already booked out. As a frequent visitor to Derry I will definitely make it my business to stay at No 8 whenever I get the chance.

Hubby booked this for my Valentine's present. 3 nights in this hotel. Room was spacious, clean and had a bath and separate shower cubicle in bathroom. Bed was comfy and huge!! We had breakfast in the hotel on our first morning and while there was plenty of choice, you would need to eat alot to justify the £15 price tag each. (Ours was complementary that morning due to an enquiry I made before arriving. They also offered our other 2 morning breakfasts at £10 each, but we did not avail of this.) The food in the bar on the first night was brilliant, sea food chowder was delicious and my Hubbys burger was amazing. The amount of chunky chips also with his burger did the 2 of us!! They offer a Lite Bite Menu choosing 3 items from the menu for £14, this needs pre booking and when we asked about it our wait staff informed us that you could also have the chefs selection for the same price each, so we booked it for our 2nd night.....WELL!!!!.....what can I say.....we were full to bursting with the amount and variety served. The quality and taste of everything was excellent! Really recommend this choice. There are deserts on it too but we choose just the savory. (See pic) The staff through out the hotel where so friendly and helpful. In the bar/dining area the wait staff couldn't do enough for you. And your glass was never empty if that was your choice. All in all a great stay, the only drawback would be it being out of the city a bit and a car is recommended but the taxi service was quick too. Also would make a fantastic hotel for a spa as it is that wee bit out of the city centre.

We stayed at the Hampton by Hilton for the Scottish Oct week. It was very clean, I was apprehensive of how hotels were during Covid-19 and had read a lot of reviews for where to stay in Blackpool based on since when COVID-19 started and the Hampton by Hilton got some of the best reviews and it far surpassed my expectations. From check in the place was very clean, all staff were wearing masks, they explained that daily cleaning service had been suspended but if you wanted your room cleaned that day you just needed to say, or if you needed new towels or toilet roll they could give it to you at reception, which is great as it limits human interaction. Dinner: we ended up eating dinner there three of the four nights as I found a lot of places were crowded whilst they had us well spread out and ensured ppl had masks on whilst moving around. The food was nice if a small menu, the staff were great very friendly and helpful. Room: we stayed in room 304 and it is at the back of the hotel partially overlooking the carpark and partial sea view, it was two king sized beds which were really comfortable and we slept well, it had lots of charging points which in this day of electronics was great. I think it could benefit from a wee shelf on the side nearest the window as there was a table on my side and on the other side of the other bed. It has a heating and cooling system and a good shower but doesn’t have a hairdryer in the room so remember to take your own. Breakfast: was well organised and really tasty. There was a great selection of both hot and cold items, coffee and tea there was even chocolate or strawberry milk for the children. The staff were very vigilant and challenged a couple of lads who had come down to breakfast without masks or lanyards to say they didn’t need to for medical reasons, they came back down with masks. Location: the tram station is across the road but it is easily walkable to get to both the south and central pier, pleasurebeach is about a five minute walk whilst the south pier is maybe about ten minutes depending on if the wind is hitting you. There is also lots of hand gel located throughout the hotel which was good. Overall if I was coming back to Blackpool I’d definitely recommend/stay at this hotel again, the staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were immaculate and well thought out, it was a good location and breakfast was tasty. Thank you for making our family stay enjoyable, my daughter had never been to Blackpool and I hadn’t been since I was three which wasn’t yesterday!

I stayed here with my mum and daughters and it was lovely. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a lovely smiley woman and she was extremely helpful. Check in was quick. When we entered the room, it was slightly chilly so we turned the radiator on and it heated the room up with a couple of minutes (we could see why they didn’t leave it on as it got warm quickly). The room was clean, the bath and shower were great and the Sleepeeze mattress was the best mattress I’ve ever slept on. We didn’t have breakfast but when I can downstairs to get more milk for our room, I could see the social distancing rules were adhered to. We have a disabled badge and one of the male workers (I don’t know his name) saved us a space when we went out, which was very much appreciated. If I could change one thing it would be that I wish there was a plug near the tv as my daughters brought there fire stick with but couldn’t use it. Minor detail. All in all, I’d definitely stay here again!

I stayed here and you certainly get what you pay for. Room was basic but clean and all you needed to rest your head for a night. I unfortunately left my headphones at the hotel and was distraught when I found out as I live 3 hours away, however the manager was more than accommodating and sent them back via an envelope I sent them and I could not be more thankful. It may not seem like a lot, but my headphones are needed for my everyday so when they arrived back safely I was overjoyed. Nothing is too much for the manager, really nice and would recommend staying again! Thank you so so much.

We stayed here overnight as going out with friends. There was a derby match on with Fleetwood so bar filled up pretty quickly after the game. But what a fab atmosphere. There was a lovely gentleman that greeted us on arrival & advised the car park was full up but gave us a free voucher to park at Travelodge. There was no places at the time but after 15 mins wait we secured a parking place. Said gentleman (concierge) is by far a massive asset to the hotel. Our room was lovely & view spectacular, everything you needed for a night away plus more. We went into the bar fir some lunch & although it seemed to take ages it was well worth the wait. We were very late getting back 3.30am (dirty stop outs) but were greeted so warmly on our return & had a chat & laugh with security. Breakfast this morning was amazing, only down fall was no black pudding & fried eggs a little sad but the scrambled eggs were as light as a feather. I burnt the toast & set fire to it (my fault) but the staff just laughed, very nicely & sorted it. Check out as check in was as smoith as ever & lots of chat. We will definitely return as quite simply, the whole experience was a poor joy
