A luxurious Grade II listed residence prominently positioned in the village of Rowsley. Catering for up to 10 people (8 + 2 on a day bed) amongst 5 well-proportioned bedrooms (2 en-suit bathrooms). It has beautiful character features such as shutters, beamed ceilings, sash windows and oak fireplace with wood burning stove. There are 2 reception rooms, fully equipped kitchen, stylish dining room and extra private room next to top-floor bedroom with a day-bed (sleeps 2). Outside is a beautiful mature garden with seating area.The house itself is a Grade II Listed building, built in 1809. It was renovated in 2020 to a high standard, offering you a luxurious stay but with traditional atmosphere.Vernon House is located perfectly in the Peak District National Park, just on the doorstep of Chatsworth Estate and Haddon Hall. Rowsley is a countryside village within walking distance of all the major local attractions such as Peak Shopping Village, Peacock restaurant, Traditional Mill, local village shop. It is conveniently placed for walkers, cyclist or people looking for relaxing place, to take advantage of all the Peak District has to offer.Cosy living room with oak fireplace seats comfortable all the guests and it is equipped with British Made Sofas. A separate library/game room has another large sofa and armchairs, card table, books, games and record player. We love this room. The kitchen is fully equipped with stylish crockery and all electrical appliances (range oven, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine, toaster, kettle). Kitchen is linked to dining room with large dining table and Lloyd loom chairs. Beside all the main rooms on the ground floor, you can find a separate WC, utility/boot drying room and entrance hallway there.On the first floor, there are 3 bedrooms featuring Hypnos beds and mattresses (carrying The Royal Crest) and 2 of them has en-suit facilities. There is an additional family bathroom and separate WC for convenience and privacy. A further large bedroom is on the top floor with king size bed and Hypnos mattress. Next to this room is and additional cosy area complete with TV, double bed and games console. Invincible satisfaction, this is the most cost-effective hotel I have stayed in the UK, although it is very convenient to eat in the restaurant on the first floor near the manor. The front desk of the hotel is also warm and the dinner tastes good. There is also a RV base next to the hotel. If you get off from Sheffield and take 218 back to Darcy Manor and then transfer to 6.1 Bus for seven minutes, follow the navigation positioning positioning. Remember to continue to walk forward for a few minutes and cross a small bridge. Navigation is not accurate. The local bus is no different from the taxi. I originally took a taxi to the hotel and found that Uber 138 pounds was not cost-effective and it was OK to take the car directly. The scenery along the way is particularly beautiful, and it is also a good journey experience ～

A lovely mid terrace stone cottage with wood burner in a quiet location. Very close to Bakewell town centre and ideally positioned for visiting the attractions of the Peak District National Park. There is off road parking for a small to medium sized family car to the front of the property, eg VW Golf. Also a beautiful small garden to sit in and enjoy a large glass of wine. We accept short breaks as well as 7 night breaks, but sorry, no pets and no smoking. An excellent short stay in this B&B situated above a tea room in the village of Bonsall. Check-in is a small window of 2 hours between 2 and 4 pm but it does state that you can organise late check-in if you are stuck. Best to avoid the area around the Heights of Abraham when traveling in at the weekend as it gets very busy. We were there just to check out the area for walking and it suited our needs perfectly. The owner greeted us and made sure we settled in and as a bonus, the tea room was still open to allow us to sample their delicious cakes before unpacking. We went to the Kings Head pub for dinner which is a 3-minute walk up the hill and I must say it was a good choice. Another place with great hospitality with a mix of locals and visitors but more importantly good honest grub. Breakfast was probably one of the best we have ever had at a B&B it was plentiful and there was no compromise on quality, perfect to fuel us for another day on the hills. Thank you for hosting us and giving us good value for money in an excellent location to explore the Peak District National Park.
