This hotel is an older property that has been nicely remodeled. The rooms are smaller than a modern Comfort Inn, but they are nice. The hotel is very quiet considering its proximity to the expressway. It is rather difficult to find when driving. I should have printed out a map. Room rates were much better than those available just a few miles closer to Chicago. There are many food options within a reasonable drive, but none that you can walk to. The air conditioner was nicely quiet but did not have a lot of power. However, it was adequate to the high humidity and 80 degree weather that was happening while I was there. There is no swimming pool, but that means you don't have to deal with shouting middle school kids running to and from the pool. Both the coffee and the breakfast were excellent. This will be my new destination hotel when in the Chicago area.

This property is ok, however needs a DEEP Cleaning , carpets cleaned, and some updating. It was not a good valued I would only stay here again in a pinch, with no better offers. It is over priced and offers very little in return.

I was suprisley shock how clean this place was considering the location. I was even more impressed how professional the staff was and how accommodating they were towards the guest. The complimentary breakfast was a bonus and along with the daily complimentary popcorn and cookies.

Let me start by saying I'm a fan of the Choice Hotel brands and generally will not hesitate to stay at one of their properties unless there is a LOT of negative reviews outnumbering the positive ones. As retirees that love to travel my wife and I now have the time to travel more and as the one who plans those travels I write and read a lot of reviews. Two things during our visit were significant enough for me to mention and keep me from giving this property 4 stars. First - the food. My wife wanted to buy a bottled water from the vending machine so I went down with her and while there purchased a candy bar. After one bite I realized it had to have been about a year beyond its expiration date and just threw it away. The next morning I went down for the continental breakfast. The juice tasted like water but even worse I decided to get a cup of coffee and when I went to open the small french vanilla cream cup it was so old that it had turned solid. After opening two more with the same results I just gave up. But the real reason for this 1-star rating instead of 4-star is Kim at the Front Desk. My family members from several states booked several rooms here while attending a funeral for a dear Aunt. When I went to the business office to check in to my return flight back to Atlanta there was no where on the format on the screen to put in the code that Kim had told me to use. She didn't want to get out of her chair and walk the 25 feet to assist me but after telling her several times the format she was telling about wasn't coming up she reluctantly came over, saw that what I told her was in fact accurate and after several clicks was able to bring the format up. She almost made me feel guilty for asking her assistance. But that's not even our familie's worst encounter with her. My brother from Michigan also came down to check-in online and started his car remotely so that it would be warm for our 85 year old Mother. When it became time for us to load into our cars to meet at the family house and proceed to the church he couldn't find his key fob. He called the hotel and explained to Kim(I listened to the call) that it must be either at the front counter or at the computer he used. She just looked at the front counter in front of her and said it wasn't there. When we drove back to the hotel it was right at the computer desk where he left it. He said to Kim ”It was right here at the computer desk.” She briefly stopped a conversation she was having with another worker and said ”you said look at the front counter” then turned away and resumed her conversation.

This is my go to basic hotel. Very reasonably priced. No pool so there are no screaming kids running up and down the halls. Super comfy beds and a nice variety of pillows. Sadly this nice little hotel is starting to show some wear and tear. Scuff marks on the walls. At some point the showers were resurfaced and now that surface is peeling. The corners behind the bathroom door need a serious cleaning. It needs a refresh. The drawer in the credenza would not stay shut. Also this was the first time that I had a problem finding someone at the front desk. When I checked in there was a sign stating I should go around the corner to the laundry room. When checking out the woman that was in the breakfast room came over to print me my bill. I checked in at 2pm which is early. Stated check in is 3pm. The front desk was concerned that there wasn't a room ready at 2pm. I find it hard to believe that every room in this hotel was dirty one hour before check in time. One positive note---this was the first time I have eaten the breakfast. It was quite tasty. Bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs. They also offer a variety of muffins and pastries, cereal and of course waffles. I have another stay booked for August. I am hoping they take care of some of the upkeep issues.
