|1.14km from city centerDisliked: I honestly feel like the pictures posted on Bookings.Com are a total misrepresentation of what one walks into. We walked into an apartment that looked empty. The lounge area to be precise looked like our furniture was repossessed or we were new tenants waiting for furniture to be delivered. It looked cold and unwelcoming. The pictures on the other hand showed a fully furnished apartment with carpets and or a table in the middle of the lounge. 90% of the TV channels gave error 48-32, and the channels that play without a problem are kids channels. Apparently, the area has signal problems. The cutlery and crockery was a joke, 1 eating fork, 1 spoon, 2 steak forks, 2 teaspoons, 3 butter knives, no bread knife or chopping knives. 4 pots, only 2 of those pots have lids. Only 1 small serving dish, the other one had no lid. When we checked in, we had to pay R200 damage fees, which we were aware of, however, no one walked us to our room for an inspection, despite having paid the damage fee.....when we got to our room, the kettle lid was broken, the cabinet door on the island was broken... The accommodation is located on Grayston drive. It's a busy street, so obviously, there are no silent nights. So if you are hoping for a quiet day or night l, this won't be a place for you. The same night we checked in, we wanted to cancel our reservation and book somewhere else. Unfortunately for us when we went to reception, the reception was closed and we couldn't be assisted. for a place located in Sandton I had high expectations and they were definitely not met.

|0.34km from city centerJohannesburg is not as safe as Cape Town so you need to put yourself somewhere safe when traveling there. Sandton is a better area and there is a big shopping mall right next to this hotel and you can find everything there including a supermarket, shops, & lot of restaurants if you don't want to eat in the hotel restaurant. They have parking in basement too with metal gate for an additional R55 per night which I found it reasonable. In general, staffs are helpful and nice, great location, great food in the hotel restaurant too. I will definitely stay there again if I would go to Johannesburg again.

|1.01km from city centerWe travel in December for a week with my family...I have seen some pics on the Internet and in reality it is not the same..the place is very old..the ac in the living room was out of order,we did not have keys with our room door to be safe,we ask for a cloth rack to be put in the room cause we didn't have one ,we never received it...I was in my period one night and the bedsheets got dirty with blood stains and my towels was dirty,I explain my situation and ask a new towel they told me to wash it my self.my bed sheet was not changed even if it was dirty, I remove it on my bed, I put it on the floor I sleep on a naked bed .one day they have done the rooms,they removed the bath towels and never replace them,when I ask on the reception they say they are not a hotel and they do jot have towels to give me.the dryer machine is not even hot and the cloths still wet ,the washing machine make a lot of water on the floor...this was my honest opinion...pls do some maintenance on the place .thanks

I'm beyond disappointed and will certainly heavily discourage anybody form visiting this establishment. There are serious issues with value, particularly the most SHOCKING bed and pillows I have ever slept on, ”tired” rooms in ill repair (flooring and fake grass in particular), no backup power, most basic package of TV, banking issues upon arrival. Overpriced for what you get. Pity, it could be good - but it's like a ghost town running on fumes. No vibe, nothing happening, no feedback from management, just an expensive place to get a bad night's sleep during load shedding.

We arrived late after a long drive from Timbavati with our family, which exist of 15 people, youngest 3 months and oldest 74 years old. The owner was very thoughtful to switch a room to the ground floor for the less mobile people. In no time everyone was checked-in and settled in a beautiful rooms. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The owner and wife are lovely and friendly people. The garden with pool is beautiful, well-maintained with seats to sit and enjoy.

Starting with Sipho, the taxi driver who fetched me from the airport and took me to the hotel (and helped with daily transport to site) - he was a gem! Always on time, efficient and friendly. I strongly recommend his services. My room was always spotless, breakfast was great and so was the room service - the best soups and sandwiches I've ever had. The staff were so welcoming, helpful and always friendly. Being within the Monte****** complex provided us with endless dinner choices - we didn't have one bad meal. I would highly recommend the Piazza Hotel.

The hotel is relatively new and very clean, they seem to adhere to high hygiene standards and their rooms are fresh and well stocked. They have a fantastic pool and jacuzzi area and this was where I enjoyed spending most of my time, just wish there wasn’t an obvious fence immediately after the infinity pool as I feel this defeats the purpose. Not a place I recommend for high-profile guests simply because coming and going was too easy and there wasn’t much privacy outside of the room. The breakfast buffet as well as the food menu were quite a disappointment except for their steaks and cocktails: the breakfast range was limited so forking R240 pp each day felt like a rip-off. The service was generally incredible, with warm and friendly staff ready to greet you at every corner.

|2.4km from city centerThe Residency is my stay of choice in Sandhurst/Sandton, this is my 8th stay perhaps more, the same price as a suite in a 4 star hotel, but three times the size and doubly comfortable, with proper kitchen and all facilities you'd expect from a 5 star establishment. The elegance of The Residency apart from its location is its low key helpful personnel, obliging, attentive and kind always helpful, rooms are spotlessly clean and designed in good taste. Unlike other similar locales in the neighborhood, there is no noise, no smells of others cooking. And no unnecessary buzz of activity or doors opening or closing. A blip in the TV reception was rectified within minutes at 22.00 hours in the evening. A very well run establishment, consistent, clean and elegant.

Firstly, on arrival, you will be pleased a covered parkade with state-of-the-art security, and plenty of space for your car. Then you work your way towards a stunningly designed reception on ground level WITH SELF SERVICE CHECK-IN or a more traditional check-in at the counter if you prefer. I you do self service check-in, I highly recommend taking two access cards. One for you to access the room and another for the electricity in the room.... Some of my favorite highlights: -I absolutely LOVED the wallpapers in the hallways -Loved the LED strip lighting and Wallpaper headrest in my room -I loved the Jacobs cappuccino available in the passage to all guests. The only bad lowlights: -The bathroom sink situated in the main doorway is very poor design and is very out of place. -The walls are very very thin and our neighboring guests annoyed us all night long by opening and closing stuff. -There are no plates, no knifes and forks,only two drinking glasses. -- Sent from my Android device with K-9 Mail. We were only here for 1 night and loved every moment of it. |2.47km from city centerMy stay started out okay at this 4 star hotel, well situated in the Morningside area of town but my last 2 days were not okay on account of a problem with the hot water. After a long day just wanted to unwind and take a long bath, to my surprise there was no hot water. Well these things can happen I guess so I promptly told the reception about it so it could be fixed by the next day. In the morning...Still no hot water. I told the reception again, thinking that they would have the whole day again to fix it but upon returning to the hotel the problem was not resolved. The manager said that the maintenance crew had tried to fix it but fixed the wrong ”thing”, which means that they never went into any of the rooms to see if they had actually fixed it. They could not switch my room because it was the whole back block of the hotel and the only rooms left also didn't have hot water! I left in the morning with yet another cold shower. Sorry folks but this is unacceptable, even it it meant having someone work on it all night, it should have been fixed. Oh, and also food at the hotel restaurant takes 45 minutes to prepare! Order early! Safe in the room doesn't function either. Change to 2 stars maybe 3 at best.

I was able to check in early which was amazing. The manager on duty and Porter where so helpful and sweet. The food was really not great at lunch though. I had a ceaser salad which was literally just tired salad leaves and some cheese was very disappointed. Breakfast was OK not wonderful not terrible just OK. The bar staff were super friendly but also didn't have stock to make cocktails was a bit disappointed by that. The room itself was clean and comfy. I would stay here again just over eats or go out for a meal.

Upon my arrival, I was immediately impressed by the hotel's elegant design and the warm welcome from the staff. Throughout my stay, the employees were attentive and willing to assist with any requests or inquiries, making my interactions with them enjoyable. Regrettably, I encountered an issue with noise disturbances during my stay, which greatly impacted my ability to rest and relax. After experiencing a sleepless night due to noise caused by other guests, I expressed my concerns and requested a cancellation and refund. The hotel offered an alternative solution by moving me to another room. However, the experience in the new room was even worse, as the noise levels persisted and disrupted my sleep further. As a guest, I believe it is essential for a hotel to maintain an environment conducive to rest and tranquility, especially during nighttime hours. While the hotel's staff was responsive to my concerns, the noise issue was not effectively resolved, ultimately leading to an unpleasant experience. I sincerely hope that the management addresses the noise control concerns promptly. It is my belief that by prioritizing the peaceful enjoyment of all guests, the hotel can provide a truly exceptional experience. I would recommend that the hotel management takes immediate measures to address this issue to ensure a restful and comfortable experience for all guests

My Son's sleeper couch was comfortable and cosy blankets provided for Him, which He loved. It was the highlight of His stay. He loved that He didn't have to share with Mommy. Traveling with Mids can be challenging and demanding but they made sure we're good and comfortable. I did send My Son a couple of times to the reception and He got help. NB: Only challenge was no phone. Having to go all the way up there for help was a turn off. They need phones if not they need to answer their whatsapp line,which they hardly responded to.

The staff are really so friendly and helpful as is Belinda but unfortunately the manor house is in desperate need of serious renovations. The staff kindly moved our room closer to our daughter at 9pm so they weren't prepared for someone to use the room. Be that as it may. The bathrooms need to be gutted. The weird ceilings should be closed up. The cupboards replaced. The mattress in our second room needs to be replaced. The gardens need redoing. The outside needs to be fixed up and painted. The decks need to be replaced. We didn't stay for breakfast as we were in a hurry. It is such a shame as the manor house is in a classy area. And once again the staff are trying their best in a very old house. I really hope they get the upgrades that they need to restore the manor house to its former glory.
