All you could need for a comfortable stay and includes breakfast! There is a good sized room for two people with lots of storage space in cupboards and drawers if your needing to unpack. Large bar fridge with tea and coffee making facilities, even has little biscuits which is a nice touch. Bathroom has great water pressure and clean. There's an indoor pool which isn't heated but I got in (eventually) I can imagine in summer it would be busy but too cold in winter, the pool area has nice chairs and layback lounges and pool towels are supplied there is also a vending machine with snacks and cold drinks! Friendly and helpful reception staff.

Rang last minute, always better to book with the venue so they don’t have to pay fees elsewhere, and was offered a newly renovated cottage for the 3 of us. Very friendly staff and a very comfy room at a great price too. Hotel is in a convenient spot, easy to walk to restaurants, shops etc and close to the beautiful Cook Park. My friends and I have been itching to visit the hotel since it opened! We were so thrilled we finally found a weekend we were all free to visit this amazing gem in Orange. I can definitely vouch for my friends and I, we were absolutely speechless walking into the hotel. The incredible attention to detail, exquisite choice of furnishing and the explosion of colour! Tom and Kristen have put so much love into this gem and can only speak volume of their team with their passion and drive. We were fortunate enough to meet Tina and chef Misha, who were so helpful and attentive. Breakfast is an absolute must, the granola and vanilla bean yoghurt is well worth the visit! The guest bathroom near the kitchen is one of a kind, a definite peek inside even if you don’t need to go. It was definitely one of many highlights in the hotel. The guest suite, fab fab fab!! Pillow top beds, cloud pillows.. turn down service with tea and homemade cookies. Fridge filled with local juice and water. That bathtub under the skyline! We booked at de Russie using email. Just a few minutes after the booking was confirmed, by email, we received a phone call to discuss our arrival and some breakfast preferences (breakfast is included in the room rate). So polite. So friendly. So efficient. When booking, when checking in and when departing. This just about sums up the hotel perfectly. Efficient (100% clean and 100% maintained inside and out). Friendly and welcoming. Comfortable and convenient. Great location and excellent parking. And also, overall excellent value. As an in town location de Russie is simply ideal. A great base from which to explore Orange itself by foot and also the nearby historic villages and some lovely vineyard cellar doors. Have never stayed at de Russie before but will definitely stay again ... and again.

The room and bathroom were a bit small as it is a refurbished motel room. The modern fittings were nice and the bedding was very good. Taking a shower was a bit of a pain though. It is open and you had to be mindful of the mess from water splashing. Stayed 3 nights including Friday and Saturday but I was not affected by any noise from the club next door. Not sure if this was due to the fact that I was not in the hotel till after midnight each day. I had a room upstairs, towards the back end which also may have helped with noise and privacy. Several options for food and drink are available in the club next door and that was great. The Orange Visitor Center was a short walk away and that was great too. A couple of things were not satisfactory: - as I returned very late every night I hung the do not disturb sign on the door but alas, housekeeping comes along the concrete walkway with a very noisy trolley!! So although they didn't disturb me by knocking on the door, I was well and truly disturbed anyway. - on the first day the used bath mat and hand towel placed on the floor had been removed but not replaced. On the second day the used bath mat had been taken from the floor and hung up on the shower screen which made me squirm! It seemed like the same was done with other towels that had been placed on the floor but there was still a fresh towel that I had not used so it was ok. Biscuits and milk were not replenished. Not a major issue but couldn't help noticing.

We were scheduled to spend two nights here but left after the first night. We were "upgrqded" to the mobility room which was recently renovated! Shame the builder parked there and we couldn't use the park on arrival. Just as well we are not disabled but if we were, that would have been awful. We made a list of 15 issues, 1 was aesthetic in that we didn't like painted brick walls. The rest were major. Here is a list of some of them and the Manager's response when we discussed them with him. The room stunk. It had an air purifier going when we got there. The carpet was new. Manager said the previous people didn't complain!. Filthy rubbish bins were outside the room. These were used by the adjacent hotel and motel. The window in the front that faced the open driveway and was metres from the pub entrance, didn't close properly and couldn't be locked. manager said, he knew about it as the previous people had a cricket stuck in the fly screen and he had to get it out. The police are only a couple of doors away - seriously!, what about a drunk from the pub coming into our room or the security of our belongings. There are other issues which I can't be bothered writing about. Oh, the Manager did give us a credit for the night we didn't stay and the bed was great and that is why I gave it a 3 instead of a 2 star. Suffice to say, this is a horrible motel to stay at, no outlook and a manager that is defensive on everything. At least he listened to our issues

In fairness, I should have known from the price... We stayed here for one night while on a road trip through NSW. The pics made the place look clean and tidy, but up close, the carpet felt 'dead' underfoot (like the underlay wore out years ago), the cabinetry was flaking and had dirt in the grooves, and the bathroom wasn't just old (which I expected), but also not particularly clean as per the photos (grime-filled corners). The vanity sink had a discoloured crack right across its bottom (unhygienic home for germs) and the tissue holder was rusty. As a bit of trivia, this hotel was apparently Australia's first 'drive up' style hotel, modelled on the type popular in the USA back in the day. Today, the two story building has a fresh coat of paint on the railings etc, which is pleasant, but also features a pot-holed carpark with sagging drain cover grates filled with litter, that need to be dodged on the way to the car. The laundry was filthy and unclean, with a decrepit old swollen chipboard bench. No other families to be seen - seemed to primarily be the domain of fly-in-fly-out workers. On a positive note, the fellow on reception was polite, and the location was handy to the main street and lots of coffee shops, pubs, eateries, shops etc. In fairness, it is also priced at a budget end - but this doesn't outweigh the dirty and damaged aspects of the hotel.

Walked in and it was basic no dishwasher. A rickety dinning table. With one lounge. May i suggest taking out the table(s) and creating a breakfast bar with stools. Also putting in two lounges or an L-shaped lounge so a family can sit. Quite surprised no foxtel on TV. The bathroom although clean was designed by either a blind person or someone stuck in the era of black tiles whenever that was! The beds were squishy i had to sleep on the lounge. Hubby wanted to fold out the sofa bed but eeeek there were sheets on it already!!! Eww how do i know they werent there from the last people. I prefer to make my own sofa bed. The aircon had instructions not to touch anything but the on and off or up and down button. Ummmm NO i paid for this i get to decide what i press thank you very much! Laundry services to us are usually in house. They have two toilets but no in unit laundry facilities. Why? After a long long long trip it would have been nice to see at least some bottles of water in the fridge (water quality in orange is not good). We would have been happy to pay. The carport is for small cars only. Ok but really only for older people not families with kids and those who like basic accomodation

This motel is probably not the most modern in Orange but the friendly staff and the close proximity to a great eatery (the Ophir hotel) more on that on another review was a bonus. The price was also very good. Although on the main road there was very little road noise The queen bed was great, Tea/coffee ,microwave, toaster and kettle. 2 free bottles of water and 2 small bottles of milk was provided Bathroom had shower gel, shampoo and conditioner along with hand cream. The room had A/C and we really needed that. A two seater lounge along with a luggage rack was also in the room

We’ve eaten at the Ophir numerous times since its refurbishment and continue to be impressed. For pub food, the quality is very good and the servings generous. There are ample choices available on the menu, all of which are reasonably priced. Kids love the pizzas, husband the schnitzel, I like the warm salads. Service is friendly and attentive. In our experience, the Ophir offers the best upmarket pub-food experience in Orange. I cannot fault the taste, quality, service or price, all of which keep us returning for lunch or dinner.

My wife and I travelled to Orange with our 2 year old daughter for 3 nights. We shared a Deluxe room and found it to be the perfect size for the 3 of us. I did enquire a week before about a cot in the room for our daughter, but we decided to bring our own in the end, however the day before reception called just to double check in case we still needed it which I thought was good of them. We had a late check in so they left the key under the mat for us, and left the heater on in the room for us so it was nice and warm on arrival. The staff in general were all very friendly and helpful, even the cleaners. Location wise it's perfect, just on the edge of town (a short drive in) with a few good pubs nearby. The only downside was the bed was rather uncomfy, but apart from that all good, we had a nice stay

The reception can also book various types of local tours. The gym and pool are free of charge. $ 26 per night. Overall, I think it meets the five-star standard. The price of 600 yuan is even more cost-effective! Canberra is actually not big. The hotel is about 500 meters from the lake or Canberra center mall. The hotel can walk or rent bicycles. We placed an order for two rooms on the first day, The original room type was renewed the next day, and one of them was renewed the next day. Ctrip has been actively communicating with us to keep the original room, but the hotel still changed us to another floor. It's ok, the room is quite large, and the customer service attitude is very good. There is a kitchen and laundry room in it, which are fully equipped, but I travel alone and I don't need it for a short trip. On the contrary, it is inconvenient that there is no parking lot. I have to park far away. Then, when I walk back at night, there are homeless people and a group of teenagers playing skateboards downstairs. It is scary. Anyway, it feels very unsafe to walk back to the hotel. In addition, I feel that the sound insulation is not very good. I have to put the blanket under the door to block it. Overall it's okay.

There is a large FRESH MARKET behind the hotel, where you can find all kinds of fresh ingredients. The service was very good. It was late at night when we arrived at the hotel. There was a wall-mounted phone on the back of the hotel lobby. There was a locked box on the side. After the call was connected, the password for the card was obtained and we checked in smoothly.
