We stayed here for one night only. It’s in a fantastic location, literally yards from the beach and long promenade. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby and, if it’s sunny, a great place to sit and watch the world go by and look out to sea. The hotel isn’t that expensive. It’s a three star but is really a two. Breakfast was included in our price but I think you can pay less and go without. If you pay for breakfast there it is €7. Buffet style, eat all you can - cakes, breads, fruit, yoghurt, eggs, salads, meats, cereals plus limitless coffee, tea and juice. Really good value and enjoyable. There is a soulless lounge area. The staff were very friendly. We arrived four hours earlier than check in and that wasn’t a problem. We were always greeted when we came in. Our room was clean and had ample storage space, plus a fridge. Old dark wood cheap furniture. Big bathroom with bath and complimentary shower gel. The room(s) were obviously once self catering as there was another sink in the bedroom and cupboards underneath had been removed and replaced with a curtain. Evidence of black mould by the window. However, huge comfortable bed and a tv. Car parking is a big issue - or lack of it, The nearest car park is probably a good third of a mile away and cost €15 overnight. No on street parking at all. There are lifts in the hotel and disabled access to the building. Basically, not too bad for a short stay or if you are planning to be out all day and just need a clean, basic place to stay.

My second time here. Yes it's old, yes it's a bit shabby, but they are slowly working on improving that. For what we paid €25 pp per night, for a place about 50 metres from the beach we thought it was great value and we were able to take our doggies. No quibbles about numbers or sizes. Breakfast was good value and all the staff are wonderful! Our hot plate didn't work too well, so I'll be taking my travel kettle next time and we would have preferred a double bed, although our singles were comfortable. Overall, great value for money. We will be back.

We stayed here for 3 nights after our Cruise, last week, the apartment was easy to find. We were pleasantly surprised on entrance to the Apartments. Brand new & modern block, lovely big bright & clean reception. Check in was @ 2pm, therefore, we left our luggage in the Store Room & went off to explore. The Apartments are in a great location, 5 minute walk to the Beach, Shops, Tapas Bars etc. We booked a Studio, on arrival back, we had been given a One Bed Apartment, just as the Pictures show, very Clean, New, Modern, Extremely Good Quality. Lots of new white fluffy towels, loverly little Balcony, Everything you need!! Excellent value. Can highly recommend here & cannot wait to Return. Thank you X

My husband and I have just spent a week at the Hotel Concorde in Las Palmas , Gran Canaria. This hotel is in an ideal situation, a five minute walk from Santa Catalina bus station and a two minute walk to the beautiful Las Canteras beach. The hotel’s staff are fantastic in all areas, from reception to housekeeping and staff in the restaurant. They all couldn’t have been more helpful. Our room 411, was modern and very clean, and very quite. The dining room has beautiful views over the beach and beyond. Breakfast is a buffet and consists of many choices. My husband stated “ the coffee is the best he has ever had in a Hotel”. We were half board and had dinner in the evening, which was also buffet style. There was a selection of food, but not up to the standard of breakfast. Although you could always fine something to eat. The soups are highly recommended. The swimming pool on the roof, benefits from lovely views, it is generally quite with a good selection of sun beds and parasols. Whilst we were in Las Palmas the Carnival was on, we went every evening to watch the various acts in the stage area at Santa Catalina Park. The carnival runs from 1 st February - 1st March, and is well supported by the people of Las Palmas. We would recommend staying at the Hotel Concorde , particularly if you like smaller type hotels with lots of Spanish people also having a holiday, which we do. We would happily stay here again if we ever return to the area.

Good location, high cost performance, the balcony can directly see the sea, the room is relatively large, the room is also very good, three times cheaper than the next home stay we live in, it feels more comfortable, bigger, cost-effective, I am sorry, I regret to live in a famous place. I have lived for 20 days. I only stayed here on the last night. If there is still a chance to go here, I will choose it here.

I stayed at this hotel last winter, and returned this winter, twice. The hotel is new, opened in 2017, and all facilities are still in very good condition. My standard room was very nice, well lit and designed with fair colours. It was spacious for a three-star and really offers four-star comfort and amenities. The four-stars nearby don’t even come close with their worn-out rooms. The room came with fast and reliable wifi. There were sockets at the desk and bedside tables so charging your devices was easy. The bed was comfortable. There was a safe and ample closet space. A 0.5 L bottle of water was provided on arrival, but was not replenished. The only, but big, downside was that the bathroom still had no room for toiletries at the small sink. The wall would have room for a small shelf – I still hope they add one. I brought this up with reception on departing last winter, and I understood then that I wasn’t the only one to have made the remark. There was no bathtub, but the shower had a handheld shower as well as a rain showerhead, with good water pressure. The door to the shower cubicle had been replaced with a sliding door now, a great improvement. The towels were of good quality and the bathroom came with several amenities usually seen in first-class hotels, such as a razor, a toothbrush etc. Breakfast (a bargain at €7, daily until 10:30 am) was served in the breakfast room in the basement. It was definitely worth the money. When I returned to my room on New Year’s Eve, a full-size bottle of sparkling wine, a glass and twelve grapes had been placed on the desk, as a surprise, courtesy of the hotel. A very nice and thoughtful gift for New Year’s. All staff were very friendly and helpful, and they spoke excellent English at reception. I’m already looking forward to returning next winter!

Had an overall lovely stay at the Exe Las Palmas. The pros: it is in a great location, close to Plaza Santa Catalina, the beach, the local buses, and many restaurants. Natalia behind the front desk is lovely and helpful. The rooftop is nice enough (though some of the furniture is a little ragged) and the room price was reasonable. The maids also cleaned the room very thoroughly. The cons: We had asked them to make a dinner reservation at one of the best restaurants in town. They did which was great but didnt tell us that they had done so and we missed out which was pretty disappointing (they said they called the room but why not leave a message or tell us when we walked in?). Also, they took our laundry bag out of the room for washing, which we didnt want, despite leaving it behind on the floor for the 2 prior days. We rescued the bag before it was done so no problem in the end. They might be smart and put in a bar for guests in the lobby but otherwise no problems and I would recommend to other travelers.

The location is excellent, just beside the most lively beach in Las Palmas, there is nothing nearby. The nearest bus stop is just two steps away. The bus on the island is very developed. It is very convenient to go anywhere. The hotel is on the left. A large supermarket, daily necessities, fruit is still very cheap, it is closed at nine o'clock, pay attention in advance, because it is very close to the beach, swimming and sun is also very convenient. The room is very spacious, the two of us have anything to put, the bed is not too narrow, the bathroom is very spacious, and the cleaning is very clean The front desk is very welcoming and will say hello every time you enter or leave the hotel. There are not many types of breakfast, but there are some, fruit and meat, various bread, egg, ham, sausage, coffee juice, it is worth mentioning that there are freshly squeezed juice and yogurt, very good to drink The hotel has two terraces for sunbathing and the scenery is great. There is also a dj performance at night, but unfortunately it has not been completed. The hotel also offers free parking, which is very convenient for people who rent a car around the island. The only thing is that not all rooms are sea views. We stayed at the interior this time, but fortunately there is a terrace. When booking, remember to note the sea view room, and there is a strange smell in our room. It’s basically gone for a day.

Check-in was friendly and welcoming. The IT system was completely new so it took a while to get everything organised but this will most likely change to the better once staff is familiar with it. (Double) Rooms are spacious, cleaning is very good and the beds are super comfortable. Breakfast is surprisingly good for a tourist hotel in Gran Canaria. Fresh food, good variety of dishes, egg dishes can be ordered á la minute and staff continously fill up when anything is running low. Reception and the bar area are extremely uninviting and feel completely sterile with zero charm. However - this is an above average hotel in a very touristic location.

My wife and I stayed here for 7 nights and we would stay again. I thought the place was clean, the rooms were spacious and modern, and the bathroom area was large and separated from the sleeping area by a glass wall to keep noise away from the sleeping area - nice touch! The room was much larger than we expected and very comfortable. At first we were given a large room in the front of the hotel, but because of the traffic noise (I wake easily) we phoned the front desk and asked to change. Within 5 minutes someone was up to greet us and show us another room that was quieter and still very nice. On a number of occasions we had questions of the front desk staff and we always got an answer, they were very helpful - and I spoke English to them. We frequently walked around rather than took a taxi, and if you don't mind walking a bit this isn't a bad location, about 12 minutes walk South of Santa Catalina Park which is in my opinion the heart of the Las Palmas - at least during Carnivale. It's equally easy to stroll along the beach on the West side, and find restaurants there. We found restaurants nearby because we liked to leave the hotel, in particular we went to a little sandwich shop nearby called "La Bonito" to eat breakfast or grab a quick sandwich or pastry, and also a Chinese restaurant called "Taiwan". The other times we ate near the beach on the West side. The only downside in my opinion is the very busy road immediately in front of the hotel - but by staying away from the front of the hotel, we avoided the noise. One more thing - the switches for the lights took a little time to get used to - it was a bit unconventional. Overall I'd rate the hotel highly, I think it's a 4 star hotel as advertised, and the value for the money is very good. While I have rated the hotel 4 stars, if I could I would rate it 4.5

Hotel Ciudad is located a short walk to the beach and all the restaurants along the beach. It is a great location to explore Las Palmas and the surrounding areas. It is located near multiple bus stops to take you around town and the island easily (Las Palmas is a long spread out city, you will likely need/want to take a bus to get around from time to time). The room was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and modern. The hotel has an option for breakfast, and we found it to be delicious. The owner would make eggs for us, and they also had the usual breads, meats and cheese and cereals. I would recommend the hotel for your stay in Las Palmas. The front desk isn't always manned, so it is best to let the hotel know in advanced what your arrival time will be.

Having stayed in previous NH Hotels we were impressed with their facilities, modernness and friendly staff and NH Las Palmas Playa Las Canteras did not disappoint. The hotel is a lot smaller than the sister hotel (NH Imperial) which is situated around the corner but this didn’t bother us at all. The rooms and bathrooms were still clean and modern and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The main reception is smaller than other hotels we’ve been in but you don’t spend much time there anyway! Downsides were that when we asked for a kettle they didn’t give us any tea and coffee. But there was a supermarket not far from the hotel so we went to buy some satchets there - it wasn’t a problem at all. The corridors were quite dark compared to other hotels we’ve been in and there were a lot of smokers sat right outside on the hotel doorstep which blocked the path getting in and out. Overall I think it is a great hotel if you don’t expect too much with facilities. If you’re looking for a restaurant, swimming pool, bar etc then this is not the hotel for you but if you’re looking for a well priced, modern hotel that’s situated right on the doorstep of Playa De Las Canteras and restaurants then this could be the right hotel. Thank you to all the staff there that made us feel welcome. Muchas gracias!

A very clean hostel. I've never seen such a nice hostel. Located in a convenient location for exploring the island and the city. In front of the hostel, there is a bus stop to the old town center. Free parking around. The staff was very nice and helpful. They offer advice on what to visit away from the usual tourist places. We chose The Cathedral mainly because of its central location. It certainly is in the heart of the historic centre of Las Palmas. All of the interesting sites of Vegueta (Santa Ana, Casa de Colon etc) are within easy walking distance. There are many bars and restaurants in very close proximity. In terms of location it can not be beat. The hotel, although in an old building, is very new. Everything is modern and clean. It is a small hotel with only a few rooms. Our room, Room A, was on the ground floor near the stairs (no lift) but there was no noise from any of the the other rooms or the stairs. The room was of a reasonable size for a short stay with enough space for storing our stuff. The shower and bathroom were each in separate alcoves separated from the rest of the room by opaque glass panels. The shower room was superb with abundant hot water. The bathroom took a bit of getting used to. The small fridge was kept stocked with bottled water. Breakfast, a selection of cold meats, bread and croissants, was excellent. Each morning the main fare was supplemented with other delicacies. The manager was very helpful in providing information and making recommendations about where to eat. We would certainly recommend the hotel to anyone who wanted a comfortable stay in heart of the old town.

I chose this hotel because it has good reviews, good price and nice location. But I got somehow very disapointed. first they do not answer on any questions if you book by ar portal like Booking ot Hotels. The reception was cold and mechanic and talked very rude in the phone to guests. 2 different persons stayed in the room next to me, I also chose this hotel because they have a no smoking policy, but both times the guest was smoking and I have to complain over 3 times and got the answer the first time that I could just get another room, they could not do anything? There is a lot of noice from the street if you have sea view and we staid on the 6th. floor. also the WiFi do not work half the time. For breakfast we have to chose between 3 time slots because of the covid situation, so not to many in the room, but I think that all guests chose our time, because it took almost 25 minuets to get seated, and then you have to stand in line for food and coffee for at leats 15 minuets more, and the staff do not understand so much english, and some was very rude (I think they were frustrated over the situation). a tip, try to put numbers by the food then it can go faster people cant see all of it and most time goes with pointing 4 or 5 times. I had a nice vacation, but just a bad hotel experience I guess? (sorry the cleaning in the rooms and the cleaning lady was just excellent and the best)

We booked a week at the Wavia in late June 2019, and are so glad we did. From the moment we arrived to a lovely welcome from Gabby, we knew we’d made an excellent hotel choice. The room was lovely, clean, and a nice touch was the complimentary beers and soft drinks left in the handy fridge for our arrival. Complimentary bottles of water were replenished daily as the room was cleaned, another nice detail. The room itself was spacious, with a huge bed and balcony with sea views. A standout feature was the quirky sea/ coral/ fish wall design, and led coloured lighting. It made for a lovely ambience! The location was fantastic, with literally a two minute stroll to the beautiful beach with all its restaurants and bars running alongside. Tucked up a side street, the hotel as lovely and quiet, perfect for our relaxing week. The only issues we had (minor problems with the ac and water systems) were dealt with in a professional manner by the fantastic staff, and resolved as a matter of urgency. As a result, the Wavia definitely would be our first choice for accommodation on any future trips to this beautiful part of Gran Canaria.

As forecast two years ago, we have been back here again and treated as old friends. There is little I can add about all the good features I have recorded previously; but it is worth saying that the quality of the "meal of the day" had improved significantly, albeit that the price had risen slightly - still a great bargain. Ref. my 2018 comments about maintenance, the cracked tile on the bar step remains, but I am pleased to record that the roof sun-deck has been tidied up - all the more so because the weather during all of our stay was cloudless and sunny. This also made me appreciate the hotel's beach towel service, and its proximity to the wonderful Las Canteras beach

I stayed in Hotel Verol for eight days and found it to be well run, very clean and extremely well located. In my opinion it was a good value as well. I found the staff to be efficient but not particularly friendly (or unfriendly). They pretty much checked me in and left me alone, unless I needed something from them. It is located just a couple of blocks from the beach which I found a real plus. I had written ahead and asked for a room as high up as possible and was given a room on the third floor of what I think is a five or six floor hotel. Most places I stay are more accommodating to my requests. My room did not have a balcony or a view, other than of the building across the street. Because it is located in a congested area, I would recommend trying to get as high up in the hotel as possible to mitigate any noise from the street. I am somewhat sensitive to street noise, and it was not a problem for me, especially when I shut the windows when it was time to go sleep. Like most European hotels, my room was small. However, it was modern, clean and had all the amenities. For some reason they like to skimp on soap. I had to go to the front desk a couple of times and ask for more of the tiny soap bars they supply. Both times they graciously complied with my request. The ocean water was cold when I visited Las Palmas in January. So, I especially appreciated the endless supply of very hot water I cold get in the shower/tub. Some hotels fall short in this regard. I would stay at Hotel Verol again.

We are just back from a week in this hotel. It is well located, the rooms are modern and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathrooms are separated from the sleeping area by a frosted glass screen with a large gap at the top - don't book if you don't want your room mate to hear/smell your bathroom activity! Breakfast was simple but adequate. It isn't a quiet hotel. Functions on the roof terrace can be heard in the bedrooms on the 5th floor (not sure about lower floors) ; traffic noise is bad and the building generally lacks sound insulation so we were disturbed by people chatting in the lobby areas.

I can warmly and highly recommend the Avocado Surf Hostel. It is a very beautiful place with great people. You will love it! Here are the top advantages: - great location just next to the beach (ideal for surfers, but as well for others who don't (yet ;)) surf (there is surf equipment to rent in the hostel and they help you with booking surf lessons and other belongings) - perfect spot to explore the island whether you want to go to the north or south - really nice hostel, many lovely details, beautiful relaxing corners, nice atmosphere - lovely team with Alexandra and Alejandro, they really help with everything you need and have great hints to explore the island - nice volunteers who are as well always around and super nice, bringing a great and a warm, happy and fun atmosphere to the hostel - team is super helpful when it comes to spontaneous extensions of your stay (which easily can happen ;) however, I recommend booking your stay in advance directly through the hostel website to have a safe spot - daily activities which always connects great hostel people from all over the world - you feel at home right away and you are not alone unless you decide to do so - clean rooms, big and very comfortable beds with great curtains for your privacy (I love the tropical prints for bed sheets and curtains) - even if there are other people in the room and in the hostel, it is super chilled and calm to relax - really clean showers and toilets which are regularly cleaned; even if there are many people, I always could use a free and clean toilet and shower, never had to wait - kitchen to prepare your own meals - nice roof top terrace to hang out with hostel friends and chill (I love the arrangement with plants and lovely details and the sound of the ocean) - really good Wi-Fi in the whole hostel which also allows remote worker to do their work efficiently - box of different hygienic products free to use - even a washing machine is available to give your clothes a new fresh kick - parking: possible at the free parking spaces at streets around the hostel, otherwise in a huge official parking space 10min walk away (2,50€ a day) Thank you so much guys for making my stay so fantastic. You are a really great team and created a space for me to have an amazing time. Special thanks to Alexandra, Alejandro, Tomek, Olmo, Dan... you are amazing! I was put off by some of the reviews, but we wanted to stay cheaply this time and it was only for two nights. We started off with a couple of glitches, I have to say. When I enquired about the hotel shuttle, I was told to use the bus! Not as advertised! Then when we got to reception they seemed to have no knowledge of our booking. Still, they found us a room and although it smelt a bit odd (a feature of Las Palmas, I'm afraid to say), it was an uncrowded room with a little balcony over a pedestrianised side street. There was ample space for our effects, a big desk with chair, a couple of sockets, a safe, and a powerful fan high up on the wall. The fridge wasn't tiny and had a freezer compartment. The beds were rather cheap affairs but we both slept well. The bathroom was a reasonable size, with good towels and some "products". The shower let the place down badly though. It was definitely missing a part as water came out horizontally! That needs to be seen to! We had a couple of plastic coffee mugs on a tray in the room. No kettle, although I was told one could be made available. However, it wasn't needed as there turned out to be an entire kitchen at our disposal on the roof! It was a lovely area, with a good if somewhat eclectic range of cooking and serving items, a couple of hobs, filter coffee machine, microwave, sink... No kettle but saucepans can boil water. There was also a vending machine for cold drinks and snacks up there (and a hot drinks one on the landing), a covered area with big dining table and a couple of other tables and chairs on the "grass". I was pleased to see how clean and undamaged everything was. Everyone I saw -- mainly young people -- was treating the place with respect, maybe helped by the ever-present cameras. On the accommodation floor, there was comfy seating and a table for guests' use, and a computer station too. Everything everywhere was spotless and cared for and security was high, with the room card needed at every step, including to work the lift. Note: We had a peek into the single rooms without window which are slammed in reviews. You get a skylight for daylight plus an opening window above the door to let air circulate from the corridor. There's ample room to move around, IMO, with a bed, wardrobe, shower and basin. I've seen vastly worse! Of course, you can choose to pay more and have a window. The kitchen means you can save on food, 'tho eating cheaply in the area is very simple (I recommend tapas bar Euro K-Narias La Parada just a block away). As we live on neighbouring Fuerteventura, we will be back! This is no longer a "cheap" option for us; it's our preferred one (vastly nicer than the AC tower across the square).

We stayed here for 3 nights and I must say all the times the hotel reception were very friendly and helpful. This is a very modern hotel and is very clean. When we got to our room we saw a menu for pillows! You could request the type of pillow you wanted for your stay and they had the standard ones already on the bed. The bathroom and shower was very clean and the decor makes me want to do my bathroom up like that at home. We had a small issue with the shower draining slow as soon as we told reception they said the plumber would come in 10 minutes to fix it. I didn’t think he would actually come in 10 mins but he did and fixed the problem. People in here that are complaining that the rooms are too small, it’s in the city what do you expect?! As mentioned here the privacy in the toilet and shower is an issue. The middle part is frosted so you can’t actually see the entire body or someone sitting on the toilet but it is a little uncomfortable knowing that you don’t have full privacy. The room was very dark at night with no noise from the streets below and we got a very good nights sleep throughout our stay. We didn’t eat here at all because at the time of booking we found it to be quite pricey, but we had no issues as there was a Cade right next door and many other cafes within a minutes walk. We also had no time to make use of the beautiful rooftop terrace but we just went one night for 2 minutes to check it out - plus to be honest we went in the beginning of March and it was quite windy and cloudy in Las Palmas. The plunge pool is around 18 degrees and looks so pretty. There are beautiful views of the water from the terrace. The location of this hotel is excellent food with busses on the door stop and the bus station also 3-4 min walk to other parts of the island.

Centrally located and affordable hostel for travellers on a budget, clean rooms and shared bathrooms, the cotton bedspreads are a nice touch as opposed to polyester ones. There's even a kitchen on the top floor, very handy for breakfast and a hot drink. The staff was so helpful and professional, I asked to stay an extra night, they were fully booked and so were other hostals in the area. Thankfully there was a cancellation and they informed me quickly via whatssap. There's no lift so if you come with heavy luggage like I did, be prepared to lift your suitcases to the third floor! But if the staff is in they'll offer to help. Would happily come here again, Thanks!

Easy to get into the building with the codes provided by Pablo, the best host ever, who'll answer every WhatsApp within minutes ând who'll do anything for you! The apt is furnished with high quality materials and exceedingly well located in the scenic and calm old Town and very near the market of Vegueta and the great pedestrian street of Triana. Nice little kitchenette with coffee maker. Great automatic lighting system for those nightly trips to the bathroom. Good curtains for the late sleeper. Close to a parking lot with good weekly rates. Supermarket Hiperdino minutes away. Near the bus station...

We had a two-night enforced stay in Las Palmas as a result of flights being cancelled due to the Calima and some British Airways passengers were accommodated here on the second night. After some initial confusion (BA uses a supplier with a different name so we were not recognised when we presented ourselves) the excellent hotel receptionist dealt with her 22 unexpected guests very efficiently and considerately. The room was clean, comfortable and very quiet - most welcome after the previous night in the centre of town which was extremely noisy. The hotel put on a special buffet dinner for us which was also excellent both in quality and variety. All very much appreciated.
