My wife and I just spent a week here and from start to finish we had a fantastic time. We had room 513 which is bright and spacious and had a tiny little balcony which you could open up the double doors and enjoy a coffee on. The AC is excellent ( which was a joy as we landed in the middle of a heatwave!) the accommodation provides a breakfast every day which is always tasty and has loads of options that even a picky eater will enjoy. Now to the staff, this is where the review title comes in., from the second you arrive it’s clear you are dealing with people who are at the top of their game, they are just amazing, from giving you directions to local sights and tips on how to get around the city, to just being friendly and helpful, there’s not a single staff member here who wouldn’t get 5 stars in any review, add to all this the location which is central to everything and you really can’t go wrong. It’s excellent value for money and honestly, I cannot find a single negative at all. Thanks guys for a fantastic week, you absolutely will see us again. Ellie and Andy,

On arrival, we were disappointed with the reception staff who were more interested in chatting amongst themselves and asking guests to wait. In our room, the windows had no sound proofing, so you hear all the street noise all the time. Be aware of hearing fire sirens at any time as the fire station is adjacent to the hotel. Our room was just ok. However, the water from the taps and shower was fierce and scaldingly hot unless you were careful. The shower was old and outdated. You could not even adjust the showerhead without standing in the bath. I have never stayed in a hotel of recent times with such poor shower facilities. Urgent updating needed. For a four-star hotel, it was disappointing. There were absolutely no room extras whatsoever. In this respect, it was more like a three-star hotel. I was also amazed to find that there were no tea or coffee making facilities in our room. The hotel leaves a bottle of water in you room each day with a message ”We wish you the most pleasant stay”. However, this is not complimentary. There is a charge of three euros. The good news is that next door there is a good supermarket selling everything, so buy your water there. Breakfast was buffet style and reasonable, but a lot of cold food that had been cooked hot. It was also so noisy inside the restaurant. As the weather was warm, we preferred to have our breakfast outside. However, it was very difficult to avoid cigarette smokers which was a major negative. Only one restaurant in the hotel was open instead of two, which was quite inconvenient. This hotel needs an update, and to review what this hotel should offer their guests. It appeared to me that the Mundial seemed to be more focussed on their business model, giving their room guests no extras. There are better hotels to stay at in Lisbon.

After 3 weeks at the Pensão Praça da Figueira, it is time to go home to Denver, USA. Thank-you to all of the wonderful, friendly staff who helped to make my visit enjoyable. The Pensão was immaculate, the breakfast buffet was filling, and it is located within 50 meters of all transportation: bus, tram, taxi, and the metro station. If you are traveling through Lisbon, I highly recommend a visit here. As is noted in other posts, there is no lift/elevator, but I am 61 and had no trouble navigating the stairs several times a day. Adeus do quarto 303! Obrigago!!

I arrived at the Hotel Portugal on August 21, 2022 early in the in the morning for six nights and seven days. Staff was welcoming, professional and friendly. I had complimentary breakfasts during my stay and was able to have a nice breakfast at the hotel upon arrival. My room would be ready by mid-morning so after having a delicious meal, I took my first walk into Lisbon. I returned shortly after to settle in my 2nd floor room. I was given a really beautiful and quiet room (room 209) which was a good size, modern and classic room. The room and upscale bathroom had high ceilings, quiet air conditioning and a beautiful decor. The room was nicely designed and very comfortable with a large king size bed. It also had a flat screen television incorporated in a large circle mirror on one wall. The room had ample storage for hanging or putting clothes away in large wall cabinets. It was well thought out, fairly new, spacious and elegant. Room service was excellent and the room was made up during the afternoon. It was very comfortable and clean and it was a pleasure to return to it at the end of the day to relax and to have good night’s sleep. The buffet breakfast included with the room had a standard plate of fruit, cheese and thin slices of ham, plus a small delicious Portuguese tartlet. On top of that, you could order your choice of many things, including eggs, bacon and fruit yogurt. It was a complete and delicious breakfast that was served on the main floor in a nice dining area inside or on the beautiful and relaxing enclosed outside hotel terrace. The hotel was nicely and centrally situated with a short walk to major streets and squares like Rossio Square and Rua Augusta. From those areas, you had access to major points of interest in this beautiful and photogenic city. The city and surroundings are truly amazing, the people nice and friendly and the views are spectacular. Getting arround is easy just walking or taking a cable car or train. The hotel also offered access to a nearby roof top bar and terrace which was really perfect at the end of the day to relax, cool off and admire the views of the city. Finally, the entire hotel staff was professional, really helpful with advice on visiting Lisbon, gave other useful travel information and always got you a nice table for breakfast on the terrace. Everyone was just so kind and friendly. It made all the difference in my stay at Hotel Portugal. I want to especially thank Cristiana at the front desk and Dulce at the breakfast restaurant for their great service, attention and overall kindness. The hotel entrance was also welcoming with a friendly and helpful door man who always had a nice greeting and gave good advice and service. The stay went by quickly as the city of Lisbon and nearby coast, mountains and beaches are just incredible. I took 1000 memorable pictures during this great trip. Again, the staff was awesome. This city boutique hotel gets great reviews and I can understand why.

Whilst holidaying in the Algarve, we decided to have a 3 day break in Lisbon. We chose this hotel, based upon it's reasonable price and fantastic location. This is an older hotel, having been built in 1900 and is located on a busy street, which is served by trams. The upside of this is that it is located 2 minutes from Rossio square, with it's metro, bus and transfer's and a multitude of Cafe's and stores. It's right down town, which is a huge plus as a tourist. We booked a double room with a private bathroom. The room was located on the fourth floor, which had a full refurbishment, earlier 2019. The room is very clean and comfortable, with a super clean and comfortable King bed. The large bathroom is cleaned and linen changed daily. There is newly installed air con in the room. The hotel serves an excellent continental breakfast daily, which in our case, cwas included in the room rate. The public areas are very clean and comfortable. The only downside of this hotel is the steep stairway to the reception from the straight and a further flight to the elevator located on the 1st floor. This elevator is very small and you need several trips to store your luggage in your room. I would not say that this hotel is suited to the less mobile. I enjoyed my stay and the staff were all pleasant and obliging and spoke good English. I would definitely recommend this hotel as excellent value for money.

The front desk of the hotel was very warm and very standard: I signed a document when I copied my passport. I also specifically told me that the reason for signing this document was because I had to copy my passport and take it in another hotel to let me sign = =. From the hotel, not far from the Marquis de Pombal Square in Lisbon, then go down the city to the city center.

Away from the main city attractions but right next door to a metro station. It is walkable but an uphill walk coming back from a day out of about 30 minutes. Reception staff efficient but not what I would call welcoming. Booking request of higher floor not near Elevator was not fully adhered to, not near Elevator but 1st floor room (it maybe that my type of room is not available on another for). Strangely bathroom window was open on arrival which we thought was strange but after closing it before we went out on our return we discovered why as without the window open the bathroom had a horrible musty smell. No other major issues with room and it was comfortable. Breakfast, the pretty standard food selection. Coffee not to my taste and tables very close together and difficult to get in and out from without knocking into the person sat at the table next to you. Generally an OK stay

My husband and I stayed here the night before our flight home from Lisbon back to the US. The staff were polite and helpful at check-in and helping us get a taxi into town. However, when we asked to be booked on the airport shuttle (that the website says runs every 30 minutes), we were informed that they have moved to a once-an-hour schedule, and that the shuttle we would have needed was already full. So we wound up having to take a taxi. This was not big deal, but still not what was advertised. The room was adequate - clean, reasonably comfortable - but nothing to write home about. I have not idea how the breakfast was, because it opened after we needed to leave for our flight. The main attraction of this hotel is its proximity to the airport.

It is a fairly well-established bed and breakfast system, located at the Sao Sebastiao metro entrance, opposite the Corte Ingles. The welcome was given in French and by a very friendly and pleasant host. The room was very large. The bathroom, although pretty and very clean, was difficult to close using the installed hook. We had a fairly well-stocked breakfast, there was plenty of everything. A very pleasant break in Lisbon.

After reading the negative reviews, I decided it was worth reporting on our stay here. We were attending Web Summit at the Altice Arena and chose the VIP Executive Art's (sic) because it was a short walk from one end of the venue. Our room faced the street and was pretty spacious and comfortable, with no noise issues whatsoever; our only complaint was that the mini-fridge didn't work. We enjoyed the breakfast included with our rate, which was quite tasty and offered dozens of items, including interesting ones such as coconut brioche. The staff and elevators were fine, and we ate at two restaurants in the next block and enjoyed them both. And getting back to the airport by walking to Oriente station was very easy. Side note: I'm a comics fan and was startled and pleased that our room had a view of the giant superhero mural outside the hotel. If you're visiting Lisbon as a tourist, you'd do better to stay in a quainter and more atmospheric part of town. But for our needs, we were pleased with the experience we got at this hotel.

AC not working properly, no food in room, no mini bar, uncomfortable, old property needind minor renovation, many things not working such as shower head, sink not draining enough, sometimes not cleaned well. ceiling damage and micro pieces falling in bathroom AC filter dirty, walls in cupboard, could hear the couple next door having sex every time. head manager of the hotel not listening and almost rude. asked him to fix the VMC, there was too much humidity to which he replied that he is not god. I told him that if he cannot make a VMC changed I do not know how he is a manager. no discount nothing for the hassle it has been there. changed room once to have even more issues. did not seem double windowed either we could hear the street. barman when I asked him what he has aside of drinks, his reply was so low lever: What do you think I can have? it is a bar. when I explained that he might have offered snacks or small food, he did not understand. it is a very low level hotel for a high price. I will never recommend that place and I will even spend some time to damage their online reputation.

We as a family of four have just returned from a trip to Lisbon staying at the Dom Carlos Park. We were greeted by two receptionists (a young lady and young gentleman) - I didn't catch their names so please forgive me - who were extremely helpful in giving us information on attractions in the city and telling us where the tour buses were located. The hotel itself is just located off the Praca Marques de Pombal where there is a Metro station. We ourselves did not use the Metro - we purchased a three day hop on hop off bus ticket (€48 per person) which also included a hop on hop off boat ride (this is the Gray Line Sightseeing bus tour. The buses pull in just facing the statue. There are a couple of different lines to explore and there is a ticket desk located just beside where the buses pull in. We also used taxis to get around now and again which were not expensive - the taxi to and from the airport cost about €13. The hotel itself is clean. Rooms are comfy - very comfy pillows and beds. There is a minibar in the room and in the bathroom there is a hairdryer. However if you have very long hair the hairdryer heats up quickly and turns itself off which is a bit annoying. Shower pressure is fine no problem and there is a bath. A glass bottle of water is left in the room but is not free - I think the cost was €2.50 which we found out when we left back our keys. There was construction going on right next to the hotel - there are apartments being built - but the noise did not bother us. Just beside reception is the dining room. Breakfast is buffet style with a selection of breds, croissants, pastries. Cheese and meats and fruits (pinapple or orange in small glasses) are also set out. Orange juice and apple juice and cranberry juice are all available and were all fine. There are sausages, that for me tasted of frankfurters, and bacon and scrambled eggs which were okay. I myself do like poached eggs but did not see anyone requesting them. There is also coffee available from hot coffee pot with hot milk separate and hot water pot with tea bags available, hot chocolate. There were staff going around who were pleasant and approchable to everyone. Breakfast is served from 7:15 to 11:30am. Later on in the dining area is a self-service bar where the charge for a glass of wine etc is put on your bill at the end. There is also coffee tea available. There is a small lounge area just opposite to the dining room. There are two lifts also located beside reception which really only fit two people. It states four in the lift itself. There are toilets located up a stairs to the right of reception. On arrival to the hotel there is no ramp there are steps I think about five or so to climb. There is a small green area just in front of the hotel which is pretty. We as a family really enjoyed our stay in lisbon and tried to do and see as much as we could in our week. We will definitely return as we were unable to visit Sintra which is definitely worth a visit or Cascai

I visited Lisbon again in August and this time I preferred to stay out side of downtown as i have a huge van and in down town it is difficult to find a parking spot. The apartment has a great location and view and it has a parking area but you need to pay 10€ per day. The apartment was very clean and it has all the appliances you might need ( washing machine, dishwasher etc but tv was very small though) it has two bedroom one full size bed and two single beds. The single beds were not that comfy. The apartment has ac system in all the rooms as well. The building has elevator from garage to the apartments and very convenient especially if you have many luggages. I handled the check in online so did not spend time when i arrive.

My recent stay at the VIP Executive Zurique Hotel was acceptable. This hotel has so much potential, and some more attention in a few areas would go a long way in transforming this property to one of a higher quality. The service was excellent. Employees were all compassionate and professional. In addition, the food offered in the hotel’s restaurant was of high quality. Prices at the property were fair. From a value point of view, I expected a bit more. I paid €439 for my eight-day stay. In addition, dinner was expensive and extremely limited. More specifically, in terms of amenities, the hotel boasts a beautiful outdoor pool area. Unfortunately, it was often overcrowded and littered with garbage. More attention to detail would remedy these issues. Wifi was available, but weak in certain parts of the hotel. A bar is located in the lobby, but opens late and closes early in the evening, making it inaccessible. The gym was closed during my time here. That was also unfortunate, as images and descriptions on websites were misleading. I stayed in an Executive Single Room during my week here. The room itself was contemporary and updated, however, housekeeping was inconsistent. Some days, my room was cleaned impeccably, others, housekeeping was abysmal or nonexistent. Towels oftentimes had rips or stains on them. The curtains had small rips and were stained. In addition, one of the blankets was stained. The provided toiletries were good. The bed itself was comfortable, but the pillows were very poor quality. The hotel did not specially publicize a smoking policy. Oftentimes, the corridors reeked of smoke. Cigarettes littered the pool deck and common areas in the hotel. Staff worked hard to keep surfaces in the lobby disinfected, however, their efforts were undermined by thousands of guests utilizing these areas. I do believe the hotel is understaffed. The hotel would benefit from having maintenance and housekeeping readily available and on call for assistance. When I necessitated maintenance, I was told I would have to wait for the following morning when the technician would be available. While the rooms were updated and contemporary, the bathrooms were rundown. The hotel shows it’s apparent age on the exterior, and in the elevators. Some surfaces were cracked and not functional. I experienced difficulties in the elevators. They stopped working at times, leaving me stuck. Again, better maintenance would remedy these concerns. The location of the hotel is a positive. It is surrounded by transit options that provide direct links to cities all across the country. This is ideal for all visitors. Overall, the hotel served it’s purpose. I do believe the hotel is ill equipped to handle the high volume of guests that stay here. Housekeeping is marginal, and must be improved. Maintenance needs to pay closer attention to the aging property. Finally, security here is lacking. I have some concerns as it pertains to safety. Front desk staff has no control over people

Since I chose this hotel for its price and its closeness to the airport, I was surprised at how swank it was. However, when I went to print my boarding pass, I couldn't get the printer to work. After some struggle, I asked a nice young lady at the desk and she said that the printer hookup didn't work and used her own printer to print it off for me. That gives a sense of how nice and professional the desk workers were. However, I wish that someone had put up a sign saying that the printer was down so that I would not have wasted so much time. Also, my room did not have enough toilet paper, I enjoyed the coffee maker in the room once I realized that I had to stick my doorkey (card) in a slot by the door in order to have any electricity. The room had USB ports so I did not have to use a converter to charge my phone, The room was clean and attractive and all the rooms seem to have a balcony. Mine looked out on the rotary and a gas station. The food was fabulous. The goat cheese salad and the watermelon gazpacho were amazing. The breakfast buffet consisted of hot dishes, cheeses, cold cuts, cut up fresh fruits and a whole shelf of pastry. I would come back!

The apartments benefit from the use of the facilities at the Altis Grand Hotel next door, which is very handy (particularly if you have time to kill before a flight home for instance). One of the reasons we booked Altis through Love Holidays was the use of the spa facilities in the hotel - this caused some consternation at the hotel as apartment users are technically required to pay an additional charge. But this was not what was advertised on the Love Holidays site, so given we booked in good faith that we could use the spa and pool FOC the Altis staff allowed us to do so - thank you for your understanding. Altis Suites are in a good location - an upmarket neighbourhood, 20min walk into the city centre, 5min walk to the nearest Metro station (we found the metro/tram/bus system very easy to use and good value). The apartments are very spacious with a big bedroom, living room (with sofa bed) and bathroom. Beds are comfy. Rooms spotlessly clean, and cleaned daily. As has been mentioned in other reviews, the apartments are quite dated, with some items on their last legs - the reason I can't award 4 stars. Our fridge didn't work - this was promptly replaced by the staff, but with a bigger model that didn't fit into the recess. The shower head over the bath was old and twisted round so that it wouldn't direct straight. There was also a persistent drain smell in the bathroom. None of these were major issues and didn't impinge on our enjoyment, but prevent an ”excellent” rating. Overall, a great stay in Lisbon and I would recommend Altis Suites apartments for a family break.

Most of the reviews have some truth. The rooms look nothing like the pictures, and are just standard hotel rooms. They do not look recently refurbished, with cracked tiles and a warped door in the bathroom. The beds and pillows were very comfortable though. The rooms have a lot of street noise, even with the windows closed. The breakfast was very poor, with cold, rubbery eggs, poor cereal choices, etc. The hotel needs to read the reviews and act on them. So many people in our group said the same thing. Be warned, they do not supply milk in the bedroom, and then charged me for it! I was astonished. The man at reception literally shrugged his shoulders at me when I queried it. He might be the one referred to in another review. He was so rude. We did not get our upgrade to superior for the 3 nights we stayed, which I was happy to pay for, and had been trying to organise for 4 months. They did not reply to my 3 emails, including using their pro forma on the website. We had moved hotel day by day over 10 days, and I was looking for a little luxury. I got comfort, but not luxury. Shame.

Room was clean, have both towels and hand towels, changed every day with clean ones. Pillows were good. To use room safe must pay deposit plus 2 euros/day. Has room phone but no phone directory, so unable to phone housekeeping or reception. Had to go down to reception to complain about the choked sink (wash basin): Sink choked, flowing very slowly, waste water accumulated took long time to drain away. However nothing done. Complained in the morning and in the afternoon about the choked sink and unable to use the room phone since no directory. Reception staff in the afternoon did not take note about the choked sink. He said hotel does not give housekeeping phone number to guests. I said that I want to complain to the manager. He said that he had passed on many complaints to his manager, though his manager said “yes, yes” but he saw no change, including the fact that room phone has no directory to call reception or housekeeping. (When we returned 11 days later, there was still no phone directory in our hotel room.) The following morning I told the reception staff that the sink was still choked. He was surprised and he went to our room to see the sink. After seeing that the sink was choked, he assured me that the sink would be cleared. Sure enough, when we returned to the hotel in the evening, the c hoked sink was cleared. Has to climb 6 steps to reach lift/elevator. This can be a problem for older folks with heavy luggage. On our return stay, the room was much smaller. Could not close door of shower room when standing in front of wash basin. Mini fridge did not work and none available for replacement. Toiletry tray in shower area was missing. Not enough space to stand for showering, making it impossible to have a proper shower. Holder for shower nozzle too loose, could not stay in position except when hose was pressed against the wall.

Spacious room (with water room), very clean. Hotel quiet in itself. Unfortunately the room gave on the street ... Sparkling to midnight. They must do their job. Breakfast in the restaurant just next to the hotel was extensive. The staff were very friendly and the staff were very friendly.

Friendly staff that held our luggage when we arrived in the morning allowing us to tour the city while waiting for our room. We did check in a few hours early. They provided us with some good dinner recommendations that were quite lovely. The sauna and pool were also welcome, especially after walking for hours. Breakfast was solid but not over the top. The metro stop was about 600 meters (up hill) to the hotel. Overall we enjoyed our 3 day stay.

Stayed for 4 nights and found the hotel clean with all the amenities you need for a base. Bed was ok if a little firm and rubber pillows are odd but I guess practical and hygienic. Rooms were serviced daily and cleaned well. The hotel isn't directly in the centre and it takes 30mins to walk to the heart of Lisbon, via the designer shops, but that was fine for us and it gives a good opportunity to see a little more of the place, away from the main hustle and bustle. Reception staff were very helpful and informative. Would stay here again.

The hotel is quite well located, 20 minutes walk from the center of Lisbon. The receptionists speak Spanish perfectly and are very attentive when it comes to taking a *** to move around the city. Parking is fine, inside the hotel itself. It is discovered but has a fairly affordable price, € 7 / day. The elevator is very old, but really beautiful, something that caught our attention. The rooms are tiny, but for a couple they are pretty good, you can move easily. It has no air conditioning but it comes in very cool through the windows, so much that we had to sleep wrapped up all night. The views from our room were also beautiful, I leave a photo below. To return, no doubt.

The entrance to the hotel is small, but the rooms are very comfortable, clean and spacious. The Rossio subway station is downstairs, not far from the airport, and there are yellowbus and taxi stations downstairs. It is close and convenient to various scenic spots and restaurants. Not far from the beach, I recommend the net celebrity seafood restaurant uma and fado performance restaurants gin lovers

Stayed here for the first 4 nights of our 2 week trip to Portugal. So impressed with our experience in every way...rooms, staff, atmosphere, breakfast...that we ending up coming back for our last night in Lisbon. This is a n elegant, yet very comfortable, lovely hotel. Beautiful garden setting for outdoor dining with wonderful breakfast buffet. Staff will make you a breakfast to order as well, also cappuccino. Did happy hour cocktails with wonderful sushi. Outstanding attentive staff even went and filled our rental car with gas as we had a very early flight out. We traveled with another couple and saw that all the rooms are beautiful. On our last night had a deluxe room with french doors and a city view...lovely. We stayed at wonderful hotels throughout our trip and would not hesitate to recommend to those planning a trip to Lisbon.

We had a very nice stay at the LISBON Marriott. We communicated with the hotel in advance informing them we would not arrive until 7am for our reservation and requested that they combine that with a group reservation for the next evening. When we arrived a very pleasant young lady at the Elite desk (Iona???) checked us in, acknowledged that our Suite Night Award (SNA) had been honored and that the two night separate reservations were set to keep us in the same room. She also advised us that we could go down to the restaurant for breakfast after we freshened up. Our room had not been updated yet like some, but it was very spacious, comfortable and quiet. The restaurant for breakfast was excellent and had many choices including an egg station. Even though there were two groups there the next morning, they were efficient and the staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The concierge lounge is not open for breakfast, but it is open during the day for beverages and the evening offerings were very nice and plentiful. We had occasion to meet Ms. Magalhaes who was very busy with the groups but yet spent time speaking with us about the property and thanking us for our loyalty. All of the staff were pleasant and helpful. The only issue we had was that two elevators were not working causing a delay to get to/from our room during ”rush hour”. I hope they get this fixed, but overall we would recommend this property.
