The room is a bit old, but clean! Breakfast plus 8 euros is also very good, must be praised is the handsome guy at the front desk, took the initiative to give the map, told the nearby business circle to walk about 10 minutes, and very patiently answer all my questions, such as parking, at the door of the store Public parking is free from 9:00 pm to 9:00 the next morning, but it takes about 2 Euros an hour during the day and 20 Euros a day. There is a restaurant at the intersection of the alley, which is small but tastes good (the last two pictures)

The hotel is located in the park, the environment is very beautiful, the room is spacious, there are wild geese, swans, ducks and other wild animals on the lake. The facilities and service quality are high. It is the only hotel that is surprisingly pleasant for this business trip. It is indeed 4 stars standard. It is also very convenient.

Stayed in this hotel on the 27th of June 2020. It was my first there. They have recently renovated the hotel. It radiates a very nice and relaxing atmosphere. Quality of the bed was above average, so I slept very well. Each room also had aircondititong. The breakfast was lovely, with fruit, yoghurt, fresh croissants and bagles.

The hostel was a bit hard to find. Luckily we did find this hidden gem in the end and we had a great time. The common room has a very nice vibe and the staff was very friendly. If you want some tomatoes, this is the place to go. Also a lot of books and boardgames. Beds and sleeping arrangements were fine. The best surprise was the next morning though. The hostel lady Sandra made an AMAZING breakfast... there was choice between fresh bread right out of the oven. eggs, sausages, cheeses, spreads, jams, TOMATOES, pancakes, cereal, oatmeal. Or just have it all! Sandra wanted us to eat eat eat... no breakfast limit! And served until 2pm!!! Also she made us take away some food for lunch as well. You have be a bit of an experienced traveller to appreciate what this hostel has to offer. There's no denying that there's some mess (see other reviews) BUT overall for the price I found this to be one of the best and most fair hostels in the Netherlands! Only real complaint was that it was a bit noisy in the morning.. so don't expect to sleep in too late! Otherwise great stay at this cozy hostel :) Thomas and Adinda

Unlike some reviewers, we slept undisturbed by late night revellers. We had a bit of an issue with the heating and electrics. The AC doubles as heating, but defeated both our and the duty manager's attempts to get it to produce heat. Also, the electrics were set up so that the power outlets switched off when you left the room and removed the key, so we faced a losing battle to keep our phones and laptops charged. the room is clean and comfortable, and if the hotel fixed these issues, we would give it five stars.

Accommodation in Utrecht is rather expensive for travelers from Poland. With my budget restrictions resulting from the international project I had to choose a place to stay up to 90 euros per day. At the same time I have my preferences such as: own room and private bathroom, good wifi, location in the city center. i have never stayed in a typical hostel and I am travelling a lot. This hostel was one of the best options among those offered by booking.com. To sum up, I am rather positive with my first-ever-hostel-experience - I got my own room (6 beds :)), private bath, wifi, breakfast included. Breakfast corresponds to what we may have in 2/3-star hotels, simple, but tasty and fresh. The personnel was very friendly - I could check-in earlier on a day of my arrival. Only issue that worries me is the fact that this hostel offers rooms with no windows, this is really strange, how you can stay in a room with no window??? I was given a room with no window and I was not informed about it in advance while booking my room. I asked for another room to stay and fortunately, I got one. so please be more specific during booking procedure if the room you offer has or not a window.

The hotel has a/c even if it’s not mentioned on the site. Personnel is extremely efficient and efficient. All of them very kind (especially at the reception desk and at the breakfast lounge). They accommodate for allergies and other food intolerances problems. The room are big and very roomy (for Dutch standards), the bed is comfortable, facilities very cleaned. It’s right next to the cathedral (Dom). They have a private parking 7 min away walking but it is difficult to find by car. Our advice: go first to the hotel, deposit your bags and then ask them to tell you how to get from there to the parking. Breakfast was excellent. Quality/price ratio very, very good (even for August). No personnel wore masks (nobody in NL does for now, only in busses), but they tried to keep distances and had hydrogel by the hand. Windows were wide open so air circulated well in the breakfast area and they had a terrace if you preferred to eat outside. A day visit to Castle De Haar (Haarzuilens) is certainly worth it. Huge castle very well reconstructed/preserved. An excellent hotel with extremely friendly personnel. I would certainly come back to when in Utrecht.

The single room in the basement is honest. The air is not very good. It is recommended to ask if the room is underground or upstairs before you check in. The equipment in the room is very complete, there is a hot water bottle, and the capsule coffee machine is great! The location of the hotel is also very good, very close to the central station, behind the canal, particularly lively along the street.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for only one night. We were asked to pay immediately even before we could see the room. The room actually looked quite nice at the beginning, but the appearance was deceptive: there was a kitchen no-one needs, the bed was VERY soft (which we hate), we could not fully open the window, the chairs were old and unstable, the ceiling looked terrible and the worst: the bathroom was EXTREMELY small. The toilette-area was so tight, I could not fit in and even my wife, who is thin and not too tall, had problems using it. Going back to reception and asking for a refund, we were NOT given back our money. So we didn’t even have the chance to look for another hotel. So we slept there the night. My wife slept kind-of well, but I could not sleep at all - mostly because the room was too hot. There was a thermostat at which you should have been able to change temperature, but that didn’t help. And since the window could not have been opened completely, temperature did not go down. I hate sleeping warm. Another problem was the parking. The hotel offered us to park for 15 Euros (!!!) per night on their hotel parking space. And when we refused and noted, we had found another parking place outside, we were told, that “children drive around on bikes at night and brake car windows for fun”. We didn’t believe it, since it sounded like a made-up story for us to use their expensive parking site - but we didn’t want to take a chance. In the morning we checked and - oh wonder - no car was damaged. I consider this as a cheap trick to lure foreigners like us into using the hotel’s expensive parking places and - of course - for them to make more money. I can only assume the hotel is not making enough of it. Also the problem we had with the room (and the toilette) we tried to resolve by asking for a free parking space, but it was denied, eventually. They didn’t even excuse. They just offered us to see the Manager in the morning at 8 am. But we needed sleep instead so we refused. In conclusion it was a unpleasant experience. I can only advise people NOT to choose this hotel, but I cannot recommend any other one, yet.

I can tell the owners of this hotel are trying to make this place great. To brighten up our small ground floor room, they added a chandelier. There is a metallic gold (vinyl) table cloth on the table, feather pillows on the bed, and a tea kettle. They have provided a mini fridge, hand soap, shampoo, and 2 bath towels. But the room was so old and stark that the chandelier made it look worse somehow. I think they just haven't renovated our particular room yet. The main issue was that the room was not clean. We could feel grit under our feet when we took our shoes off at the door. When we arrived, the corners of the room were dirty and had accumulated a few feathers from the feather pillows. The bottom grout edges in the shower are dark or black which looks dirty (even if it isn't). We don't need much in a hotel room and we often stay at efficiency or budget places, but this one was just too dumpy for us. sorry. It is common in Europe for a full-size or king-size bed to be 2 smaller beds pushed together. That's not a problem, but we had to keep pushing them back together for some reason. The mattresses were also uncomfortable. They were so fluffy on top that we sank down to the bottom to feel a very hard bed-frame. We did appreciate that the location was convenient to the bus stop and that the building was very quiet at night.

This tiny hotel is located in the heart of Utrecht. The rooms aren't that big, but they are absolutely stunning, cosy and lovely. We had one of the bigger rooms and that room had a beautiful bathroom upstairs with a rainshower and a nice 🛀. We also enjoyed the tasty breakfast, which was included in the price of the hotel : We loved the orange juice and the yoghurt as well as the fruits. A wonderful extra is also the absolutly brilliant restaurant /tapas bar of the hotel. Please try the tapas menu. Even though we had to waite for a while to get our food, we left the restaurant a few hours later whit some big smiles! Thanks a lot for that evening! By the way, there is a big parking garage just a few minutes away.

We stayed here for 2 nights from July 5 to 7, 2019. We stayed on a room on the 3rd floor with a view of the parking lot. Clean and modern rooms, lounge and hallways. Room was a bit cramped but that’s ok. Compared to rooms in hotels in most downtown locations, our room was relatively spacious. Location was safe and secure. Staff were very nice and courteous. Free parking. When entering, position your car closest to the left side of the barrier. When getting out, get a token from reception which you will use to open the barrier to get out of the parking lot. Parking spaces were a bit tight though which is typical in Europe. We did not use the bus or tram to get to city center as we drove. We figured out, it would still have been cheaper to drive and park than to use the bus if we stayed in the city for sightseeing for only 2 or 3 hours. While Utrecht city center is a green zone (LEZ) for cars and trucks, we were told that our rented car was compliant and we didn’t need a sticker to enter. There is an Ikea around 2.5 km from the hotel. We went there twice for meals since we love their Swedish meatballs and prices there are generally cheaper compared to cafes and restaurants in the city center. We complained about the central AC that did not seem to work properly. We set it at the lowest point but still we did not feel the AC worked. We ended up opening the windows instead. We did not include breakfast in our booking since we did not want to feel rushed to have breakfast during their prescribed opening hours for that. We instead had brunch outside the hotel. It would have helped if the hotel provided some water heating equipment since we brought some 3-in-1 coffee sachets (coffee, sugar and creamer) from home. An electric kettle is not an expensive addition to any hotel room. There was no fridge. There was also no security locker. The shower area had a tempered glass enclosure but without doors. So we were careful not to splash water outside the shower area. I guess that is typical of Dutch shower areas since we also stayed in AirBnB apartment in The Netherlands during our trip and we noticed that kind of setup in their shower. There was a problem with their RFID keycards which you use to access the room as well as use the elevator. Several times, we had to go to reception to re-activate our keycards. We were reminded upon check-in not to place our key cards near magnetic or metal objects. We did not and yet our keycards still failed to work most times. We noticed the thatched roofed houses (at least 2) in front of the hotel, which were a delight since our room faced them. They were like the houses you see in the Cotswolds in England. We recommend this hotel.

Went here for a weekend away. They did some good COVID measurements. You still have the full Van Der Valk experience, but the breakfast. That ain't up to par anymore. We came in around 4 pm and the service was fast. The room is spacious and clean. We reserved the sauna and fitness for the weekend. Had a drink in the lounge and eventually went for dinner. That was really good. We had a 3-course menu (came with the booking) and the choice was somewhat limited vs the full menu. But still, at least 4 items per round so plenty of choices. The staff is friendly and helpful, in for a joke and we had some good fun. Food portions are good and any vegetables, salad or fries you can order extra for free. They serve complimentary bread with 2 types of butter, olives, and tapenade. We had a great evening out. The other morning we had to call the reception to open the fitness and wellness. Was sorted quickly but it was not opened at 7:00 am. The breakfast was (for COVID reasons) in another room that the restaurant. It was really not nice. Too bright lights, not enough choice of food. It was just less than it used to be. If they were only putting the lights a little dimmer it would already help. And increase the choice of food a bit, more bread more condiments and more (particular) fruit. However, it was not for the staff as they are more than friendly as they ever are/were. Later that afternoon we took nachos to the room and found out our room had no service yet. They came shortly after and all that was fine. The room has a coffee machine, tea, and free bottles (2x) of water. The fitness has plenty of cardio and muscle machines, the swimming pool is really nice and the wellness and sauna are just fine. We checked out (after having breakfast) the second night and enjoyed our stay at this nice van der Valk hotel.

This property is the latest addition (well, already approximately 2 years ago) of Hampton Inn by Hilton in the Netherlands. I finally tried it out over the weekend with the ok'ish rate now due to the pandemic (before this, it was always priced around the 100€ and above - which to me is something I don't feel worth it for Hampton Inn's). This stay is also a milestone stay for me - I've stayed at all the Hampton Inn's in the Netherlands and ~80% of Hilton's footprint in the Netherlands (only Hilton Amsterdam and DT Amsterdam Central station - and if considering rebranded ones - the DT Soestdijk). The management company of this property also manages the Crowne Plaza hotel which is located within the same building. Location The hotel is located in the (newly) renovated shopping centre, Hoog Catharijne The Mall - in what I believe is a newly added wing/building after the renovation. It is on the same level as you exit the train station (1st floor). I did not really see any signage actually (which is quite bad) but on the other hand, it is also not really too difficult to find - just walk (taking either of the branches as you enter the mall and continue walking until you come the centre open concourse - it should be on the left/right (depending on the branch that you took). The location is most probably the best selling point of this property compared to all other Hampton Inn's - you are basically in the centre of Utrecht - and with the renovated mall - you have basically everything within walking distance and in wet/cold weather within the mall itself and quite a lot of F&B options within 5 mins walk from the hotel entrance. Check In For check-in, you will need to take the lift up to the 3rd floor. On the 1st floor, you might need to use the call-bell for them to open the sliding doors (not sure if this is the norm of just because of current lockdown - to avoid non-guests from going up to the hotel bar for drinks - or it is just the norm for security reasons). The entrance looked inviting. I had already done an online check-in, but again guess for security reason, I was not provided with the digital key - was requested to drop by the front desk to register, etc. I was warmly greeted and as an elite HHonors member, received a nice welcome gift - a tin of Dutch Stroopwafels (caramel butter waffles) and 2 bottles of water. Also during online check-in, I had wanted to select the room at the end of the hall (which did seem larger compared to the other rooms) - but it was not available for selection - I did not ask if these rooms had a larger real estate. Anyway, the room I selected faced the city centre and did look also slightly larger compared to the other rooms - but in reality - it was still on the smaller side. From room size point of view - this and closely followed by the Schiphol property - rooms are on the smaller side. After receiving my keys (and the forms for breakfast (and a small dinner options - currently

We were travelling through Europe on a university tour with our son. We chose the Hotel Musemkwartier due to its location on a quiet, canal-lined street with a short walk to restaurants & shops. The room was clean and roomy. We had a European King (two single beds pushed together) and a sofa bed in the living area for our son. The bedroom was spacious with high ceilings and large windows that could be opened for ventilation (didn't have A/C, but even in July Utrecht was cooler and we didn't really need it - they did have fans to move the air around which was perfect). Their breakfasts are absolutely wonderful. As they don't have a common area, they'll deliver the the breakfast tray to your room each morning at whatever time you request. Fresh squeezed OJ, warm croissants, breads & rolls, Yogurt with granola, hard-boiled eggs, meats & cheeses! More breakfast than the three of us could eat each day but absolutely fresh & wonderful! We met Maria the first day and she was very warm & welcoming! She was out shopping when we first arrived, but bicycled back to the hotel in a few minutes to show us to our room. The old town is delightful and definitely feels like a 'mini-Amsterdam'. The street is narrow and there is no parking close to the hotel. So when you stop to drop your luggage, you will likely be blocking through-traffic on the narrow lane for a minute or two while you unload. Expensive overnight parking ($22) at a church lot about 2 blocks away but I'm sure there were less expensive options, we just couldn't immediately find them. Other reviewers had noted the step curved stairs to the 2nd floor. I would echo their sentiments that the stairs will not be suitable for folks with limited mobility. A perfectly charming Bed & Breakfast, with a very nice, welcoming staff and a superb breakfast. As travellers, we couldn't ask for much more! Highly recommend this B&B!
